Sex. On. Wheels. They are incredible. Can't wait to see and hear the V10s on the road. :luvlove:
-
How Very Dare You  Er, apart from Corrados of course.... What I was going to say was that if I'm waiting for the four wheel drive one I may as well get another Rado inbetween times.... Except that would eat all my hard earned Scirocco fund....
-
If your prepared to wait, oh yes, by the way, what happened to that lovely GREEN avatar :) Well, I got bored of the front end on that one, it didn't look quite right. I thought this red one would be better. :D Four wheel drive it is then I think! I'm bored of front wheel drive cars.
-
I can't wait to get mine. :D Should I wait for the four wheel drive one?

PMSL. :) Your right, if the Corrado had never existed then I probably would expect the results of a Golf and Passat cross to be a bit of a dog. I think the main reason I am disapointed with the new scirocoo is because VW made the Corrado. It it drives as well as the mk 5 golf it will be a nice car to drive, maybe even better but unlike the Corrado it looks too much like its competitors. You cant say the probe and calibra look like a corrado aside from a proper coupe like shape. P.S. Apologies for the username error :opps: Apology accepted. As long as nobody starts calling me sonicgoit13! Totally agree with the comment on comparing the rado with it's contemporaries. There is no comparison between the probe and the rado on looks. There really just isn't. But even though the iteddy does look a lot like it's enemies I still think it looks cool. And I would still buy one. I still think it's a shame it looks like and angry Focus. But then the Focus isn't a munter either.

Oh mate, that's gutting. :(

"Burn the Witch!" I'm with you campaign, I'd like one too. And deviant, you are a deviant yourself so don't start picking on witches! I'm afraid I simply don't know what you mean. I have made no bad decision. I have put no money down on a car. I am impartial. The person who made the bad decision was the one who decided to change the front end. Yanders, I know way better than to take you on in the realms of what bits came from which car at what time of day in what month of what year. I just think that if the Corrado had never existed and someone said to you they were going to fashion a coupe out of bits of Golf and Passat you wouldn't dream the results would be as good as they turned out to be, with or without the different floor pan. I say give the ipod a chance. And it's sonicriot, not roit. Roit is dangerously close to goit!
-
Surely you could say that about the Corrado on paper? Yet it kicks the Golf and the Passat that it borrows bits from. You're all non-believers! You're all saying it couldn't possibly be the next scirocco or corrado. Except for the fact that the motoring press are loving it and nobody is going to buy one. Sounds like the next Corrado to me then. Er, even if it isn't a coupe....
-
I do see what everyone is saying. It is just another hatch back. And it probably was a mistake to call it a Scirocco to be honest. But it still looks like a cool car and I bet it's wicked to drive. And a car that looks cool (in my opinion) and drives well (I admit I have no idea whether it does or not at this stage) is fine by me. Whether it's a hatch back or a coupe and whatever it happens to be called. And Junkie you're right. That does look better. But that's a different car. You may as well put a picture of a Lambo up and say you wish it was one of those.
-
Most, but not all. I like it. Not as much as the Iroc concept but I'd still have one over a golf. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say something wild and dangerous. I can't help but think that some people wouldn't be happy whatever this car was like.
-
Strange question probably. But I've been mulling it over of late. I've just started in the motor industry and my life revolves around cars even more than it did before. Much to my girlfriend's dismay. They are one of the very few things in my life I never get bored of. During the day I spend my time selling/trying to sell them to people and when I get home I plan my next project, go on car forums, and read piles of car magazines. It's difficult to put a finger on why they capture my imagination the way that they do. I guess it has a lot to do with my respect for the engineering that goes into them. When you start to look at how they work they are just staggering. The simplicity of it astounds as much as the complexity. Then there is the way some of them look. I saw a murcielago parked up the other week and I suddenly realised I was just staring at it, my jaw on the ground. The passion and attention to detail in something like that matches anything you care to mention hanging up in any art gallery anywhere. Then there are cars like the Rado. My G60 had so much soul and character it was the most compelling object I have ever owned. And I guess finally it would be the freedom they represent. There's nothing quite like a road trip in the summer to a car show, or anywhere else for that matter. Actually no, the last thing is the people I have met through cars. One of the mechanics I work with is going to look at my girlfriend's Celica for us on his lunch break. How nice is that? And all the people that have taken the time to wave out of their Rado or have a chat at a show have been brilliant. :D

Some good points. Maybe that's why I like it. Because I love Golfs as much as Corrados. But you're right, it is more of a hatch than a coupe. No sensible person, or me for that matter, is going to disagree with that.
-
Calm down dear, its only a commercial   I'm not wound up. What makes you think I'm wound up? Huh? I am calm. Very calm. Caaaaaalllllllllmmmmmmmm....

Why is everyone dredging up all these old concepts? We all know it's the really really really cool stuff that never gets built anyway. We should all wait until we see the new car on the road. I just think of all the cars I've seen in magazines that I've thought were bland/ugly until I've seen them in real life and they've blown me away. Yes, it doesn't look as good as the original Iroc concept, and yes, all that stuff about the production car looking just like the concept was never really going to happen. But every manufacturer says that about every concept they make. "Oh, this is exactly what the production car will look like" and then when it comes out it looks completely different. P.S. I still want one. Who cares if it doesn't embody the original Scorocco or Corrado. As has been pointed out at punishing regularity throughout this thread it's a completely different car. They can call it what they want.

You don't have to say good bye buddy. I sold my Rado too but I still come on here. Whether I'm welcome or not....

"JOGS". Can't think where I got that from.... Looking at that picture makes me feel sad... :( I miss you baby.... :(

I've posted this before but I still like it. Oh, and at MPH they had this:
-
You take that back! I hate eco everything. I can't wait for everyone to get bored of global warming just like they did bird flu, global warming back in the nineties, and global warming in the eighties. They probably went on about it a bit in the seventies before getting bored of it but I wasn't alive then.

Well, from what I've heard from sources of varying reliability it will get: 1.4 twin charged engine out of golf GT (very likely as entry level model) 2.0 TSi engine. Like that in mk5 Gti but with slightly higher power output, think ed 30 GTi (this is a given really) 2.0 TDi engine with 168 BHP (I hope not, but then Audi are releasing a diesel R8) Then it gets a little silly. Loads of speculation about a six pot ranging from 3.2 R32 to 3.6 R36. Don't see it myself. But then again they did put a V6 in the Eos. Who knows.
-
Andy, Some people are saying that you should not sink to her level. They are right. But I also know that you would have a long way to fall before you got anywhere near that kind of level. You will find the right response and the right thing to do. Having spoken to you I know you are an articulate, measured human being. I certainly don't feel I could even attempt to give you any advise, I'll let more experienced people do that. But what I can do is say that whatever you decide is the best course of action I'd put money on the chances of it being the right course of action. The best way I can put it is this; if I was in your situation you are the kind of person I would want to have around supporting me.
-
Wish I was going. :( I hoped it would look just like the concept. Wishful thinking I know but compare that front end to my avatar. It's completely different.
-
:D About time. Can't wait to put all the rumours to bed. Read an article the other day saying it was getting the 3.6 V6....

*NEW VIDEO* VAG UK Corrado G60 Promotional Video
Sonicriot13 replied to Yandards's topic in General Car Chat
"Even the rear seating offers plenty of comfort"? :? That's not a feature that immediately springs to mind when I recall my old G60.... -
I agree. I was having this conversation the other day. Sparked of course by that fabric softener advert.

Yes, the London congestion charge could be based on the world's first phrenological tax banding!
