  1. Lucy had a 1.7 for ages. She loved it. But then she is a girl.... Just kidding. I loved it too. Excellent driver's car. Really good fun in the twisty stuff. I drove it across Wales and it was a blast. Plus didn't AM take one to the Nurburgring when they were designing the Vantage V8? It wasn't the most reliable thing ever though. There was one enigine sensor that kept going, can't remember exactly which but it had to be replaced about 3 times during Lucy's ownership. Oh, and the traction control didn't work. Shame that....
  2. Those wheels are gonna look the nuts mate! :D Can't wait to see it slammed on those!
  3. Er, you could try hypnotherapy mate. I'm surprised, to my eyes the one series coupe is the most ill-proportioned thing BMW have ever made. Except perhaps for the one series hatch of course. The front, the back, and the middle just don't belong to each other. And that straight line that runs from the top of the front wheel arch and runs dead straight to the back of the car clashes horribly with the curved lines at the bottom of the door.
  4. Lucy didn't take too much convincing in the end. I think she just relented because she got sick of me going on about it. Plus I bought a red one. She likes red.... It's a little unfair to compare the Rado to the i10. The i10 is just such a hardcore machine. They developed a 2.2 V8 engine for it but the acceleration still wasn't good enough, so to keep the weight down the engineers removed four of the cylinders to create a 1.1 inline 4. How can a G60 possibly compare?
  5. Yeah, the steelies are staying for sure. But I may pick up those alloys from work while I have the chance. We'll see. Well, I took it in to work today and found out that I can't get it into our workshop! There is a wooden step like a big railway sleeper across the entrance and my car is too low to go over it! I'm going to have to construct some kind of ramp.
  6. I think there must be something wrong with me - there's only about 3 or 4 cars there that I'd actually want even if I had the money :? I've spotted a problem. There's no Corrado in any of those pictures.
  7. Cheers for that mate. I'm just gonna take it to the guy who valets our cars at work. If he can't bring it back then nobody can and it'll just need a little paint. No bother at all really. Working in the motor trade really comes in handy sometimes. :D
  8. Cheers for the comments guys! :D Can't wait to meet up with you lot in a Rado for once! The only bit that might benefit from some paint is the bonnet. You don't really notice in the pics but it is a little faded and tired. Gonna see if the valeter at work can do anything with it though. He is a genius. I certainly can be! Although this is the first I've heard of it. When is it? Edit: Found it on the events forum. I'll be there! :D
  9. Insurance companies are actually scum. Sheesh, what was I thinking? You had to remind me about that didn't you! Well, this red one feels a lot faster than my old white one. So that must be true! :D
  10. Cheers mate. I'll keep you posted with how I get on. All I want to do is drive it! Thanks buddy! :D Yeah, those steelies set it off a treat. Was quite a funny conversation with the insurance company. Yes it has a modified exhaust, yes it has lowered suspension, no it doesn't have alloy wheels!
  11. I saw it was on but my girlfriend threatened genital related violence if I made her watch it again.
  12. I'd just like to start this thread by thanking Dubby for selling me her car. :D It's just provided me with the best hours drive I've had in a long time. I'd forgotten just how good these cars are! :salute: Here's some pics: I have to say, there are a few little bits that could do with tidying up but it's running a lot better and is in better overall condition than my last G60. I have also made a short and not entirely interesting video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Z1qOIOxko9k First on the agenda is the crank bolt. Getting changed just as soon as the parts arrive. Go go Northgate VW. Also I'm gonna do the fuel lines tomorrow if they're bad. Then it's going in to our workshop for the brake pipes and wheel bearings. We've got some decent alloys at work in our stock room that my manager said I could have at cost price with brand new tyres, so I'll grab those if they look good/fit. I can swap them for the steelies when the mood takes me. Other than that I think I'm gonna give it some paint and coilies once I've saved up enough. All in all I'm feeling very    Although the day didn't start off too well. I had to go and rescue my Mum off the side of the A14. The cam belt snapped in her Volvo....
  13. Just makes me wonder how many others there are out there with incorrect mileage. But seriously Kempy I wouldn't let it bother you. I'm picking up a rado tomorrow and I couldn't care less how many miles its done. Because as soon as I get paid at the end of the month it's going straight into our workshop. Mileage on a 17 year old Rado is irrelevant. At least you know yours hasn't sat in a hedge for 5 years.
  14. I'd like mine to go to 0 like his Well, it probably will once the clock gets to 300,000 miles. Better get driving mate!
  15. Just embrace high mileage. Like this guy....
  16. This is awesome mate. I wish I had the know how to do something like this. Keep it coming!
  17. I've ordered my crank bolt and washer! :D One of the first things I plan to get sorted when the new toy arrives. Just need to get hold of some fuel lines now.... I'm so excited about having another Rado!!!!!!
  18. That car has been on Ebay before. Think he's been trying to shift it for a little while. Which is good cos it makes it easier to negotiate lots of money off! :D Look at what Cazza's car was going for and tell me this white one is worth the £1200 odd more.
  19. Yeah, it's a lovely car. Can't wait to pick it up! Already sorting out with our workshop getting the advisories from the last MOT sorted. Nothing major though. Just for piece of mind. I've looked at VRs and they just ain't me. I'm much more of a G60 person. Something was just stopping me from getting a VR, but when I saw that G60 up I knew it was the car for me. And looking through the history since Dubby has had it she's looked after it really well. :D
  20. I put a deposit down on mine today.... :D It's gonna be a long old week waiting to go and pick it up.
  21. Birds are literally bird brained aren't they. The pheasant that bloke nailed the other day just seemed to wait at the side of the road until the last minute and then it dived under the car. :cuckoo:
  22. It's not just the size of the beast but also the velocity of the vehicle that needs to be taken into consideration....
  23. Awesome pic dude! Dub's lookin sweeet! :D
