  1. As has been said many many times, the G60's 0-60 time is crippled because you have to jump to 3rd gear. All the other cars can do it in 2nd...
  2. Use the search, luke! Billions of threads - this has been discussed to death!

    Tie Rod End

I didn't understand either, but that's what they said "they only come with the track rod". I dunno, ask Ridgeway VW!!!

    Tie Rod End

You're probably right, but if you go in asking for track rod ENDS for a VR they'll sell you a VR rod with it at the aforementioned heinous price!!
  5. I'd rather you ripped the head off all the people that genuinely DO believe my original statement.... And anyway, as it says in the .sig. SARCASM and IRONY... :)
  6. Everyone always complains that the VR lump is too heavy, so why not rip that out and put a 1.8T in instead... ;)
  7. The pump should run all the time, and if it's getting power and not spinning that would suggest it's knacked!
  8. I thought about this, but you get even less for them. They're only worth £20-25 each, but you should get £150 the set..
  9. Mine gets fresh oil/filter every 6 months-ish. Generally 4-5000 miles. I figure it's a trivial sum of money and it's got to be worth it!
  10. I *like* that colour, actually. Very subtle. I take it that colour wasn't available that much...? Don't see many around!
  11. The top mounts that were removed from my VR6 a couple of weeks ago were compressed by a mm at most, and that's over 120k miles. I REALLY don't think that could cause 20mm difference. The only other thing the top mounts could cause though was if the mount dropped out of the centre of the tower - but you'd not be able to see the same amount of strut above both sides if that were the case. I think it's either the ground not quite as level as you think or it's the springs.
  12. And you're *absolutely certain* the ground is level? Has to be either the ground, the top mounts or the springs, really!
  13. Then there's probably nothing wrong with them. Perhaps the offset is coming from the rear? Are both rears sitting on even ground, and at the same height?
  14. Well compare - is one higher than the other? We only have one picture.. :)
  15. I agree maybe it indicates poor maintenance in the past, but if everything's basically ok the discolouring doesn't *actually* do anything *itself*... We've seen a few engine interiors looking like that though.
  16. Does it matter? It doesn't seem to actually effect anything.

    Tie Rod End

VR6 track rod ends are only available with track rods and are around £70 + VAT each from VW.. You may be right about the other Corrados tho.
  18. I love the way the fuel pump (vital to continued forward motion) and the spoiler (erm, not vital to anything other than pose factor) are on the same fuse...
  19. In future, take the plugs with you. Supply the oil, filter, plugs, and anything else you want them to change. If you're still prepared to pay the £75/hr for the normal inspection duties, that is.
  20. Of course I meant "NO valves", not "four". There are simply vents into the combustion chamber - no need for valves.
  21. What about routing the cables - where do you think's easiest to hook it up to? (I found one at Maplins actually, and there's one walkable from my house, so yeah, that's the place I think!)
  22. Hmm - drawback with these, it just occurs to me, is that they require the ciggie lighter to be live to charge the battery... They also do one with yer actual bulldog clips on it, so I suppose that could be wired into the battery somehow - anyone got any suggestions what the best way to achieve this is?
  23. Does anyone know where I can buy one of those solar trickle battery chargers from? I'm going away next weekend and need to get one ASAP, so shops are preferred to mail-order! Cheers, Matt.
  24. The RX8 engines should be pretty reliable actually. As I understand it they're looking at a major engine-out seal replacement job once every 60-80k miles, which weighs in at about a £grand. Not too bad, considering the technology on offer. Plus there's NO valves, only four spark plugs, and a couple of small turbos.
  25. Exactly. If you say they're not mint, fine. If you just don't describe them at all, even better, but you will get even less money...
