Been using V-power since i brought the VR never had a problem then read this "From looking around t'internet there's a few instances of this theory. It seems that petrol manufacturers are making petrol more cheaply by cutting it with bio-fuels to make even more profit. Thorney Motorsport have done comparison tests on RR and T99 came out really well and now use it in their race cars along with several WRC teams and MRC Tuning also rate it highly aswell. It's made by a company called Greenergy and is also mixed with bio-fuel, but with performance in mind, not making more profit. I'll have to try a tank full and see how it feels, but atleast with Tesco fuel you know it's fresh Only problem though is Tesco fuel has been know to be contaminated with water in past" " Always steered well clear of V-power since I got the S4 as many tuners, including MRC, have reported apparent problems with it eating fuel lines or something. I can't remember exactly what the problem was now but it's well documented on the SRS forums" "V-power has been suspected of breaking down fuel lines and killing FPRs and a few other things because of the amount of ethanol in it" "More info. The amount of biofuel in petrol is now by law a minimum of 5% in UK to try and be green. Scooby and Evo forums slate BP Ultimate as it causes knock Revo say T99 is the best, when it is at it's best, but quality is inconsistent, whereas V-power is BP Ultimate consistent pops up as describes as making cars sluggish and thirsty T99 and V have the best reported fuel economy with T99 being slightly ahead" Fuel test http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/tuni ... date.shtml

Because they want to sell you new cars, not prolong the life of old ones! We really should stop being VW enthusiasts and switch to being Merc or BMW enthusiasts.. they have a huge framework and schemes in place specifically for supporting older BMW's and Mercs. Parts on cars even 20+ years old are readily available from Germany and the dealer network know all about them and how to maintain them it seems. I feel like we're doing VW a favour by keeping these great cars on the road but they seem to have f*ck all interest in doing their bit. yep i totally agree with this mymate had a E30 320 and a 325i and never had any problems getting parts for it VW are just ass holes!!! :censored: -

I find FWD cars handle better with the nose slightly elevated. A 2 finger job at the front and 1.5 fingers at the rear, or 2 girlfriend size fingers is about right. Or if you measure from the sill, 10-15mm lower at the back. you can beat the old two finger test lol. i set mine up 590mm on the front and 600mm at the rear!! -
Corrrrrrrr your not wrong Nath :( IMO Piston 1 is low, did you put a drop of oil down the bores? if the compression goes up then u are looking at piston rings, did you do the test hot or cold? I think they should all be around 11-13 bar on all cylinders for a VR6. does it use a lot of oil? litre/per 1000miles? the coolant leak, does it smell in the interior? have check the electric water pump? chris

lol, you are funny Nath. your blocks is almost stripped down now, il text ya when its done. Nathan its a my bloody daily drive mate i have to use it every day to get backward and forwards to work mate, i dont know where this trailer queen stigma has come from lol. i will be honest and say i wish i did have a double garage as i would sit in there lol. and if i could i would love to buy another motor to run around in lol   -
not sure if i have this in the right section so sorry mods if i have. firstly what is the best lubricate for the rear spoiler mech, is a lithum white grease the best thing to use? i asked VW today and they didnt know :brickwall: also im stripping down VR bottom end at the moment for some one and i am totally shocked that the VR engine never came with a baffle sump/windage tray?????? even my mk1 golf has got a small bit of plastic that clips on to the oil pump! i binned it and suck a an better one for a mk3 golf gti 16v in (much better, OE part and still clips on to the oil pump. so my question is, is there something similar i can do to the VR, is the R32 sump the only option, if so is there away of blanking up the sump sensor?? many thanks Chris
