I can't speak about Jabba Sport services, but the intake heat shield doesn't do anywhere near a decent enough job to warrant replacing the original filter box. I think they use a Jetex cone filter though and they are one of the better ones. As for supercharger rebuilds I have heard of some horror stories from the work Jabba has done, I can speak from experience of seeing Darren and Rob at work down at G-Werks and they do a great job on the re-builds. My standard re-built charger is still producing on average 14psi after 12k miles since last G-Werks re-build :)

Hi mate, just read your whole thread and have to say this is one awesome build, did you manage to get it down to stealth in the end? Steve

Yeah will keep you informed on the progress, that golfgti racing looks like a good laugh but we have a g60 engine waiting to go into the golf so we wont be able to join that race :(

I'm going to be doing a couple of karting races next year with a team at work, we are hiring tracks and these guys http://www.club100.co.uk/ to bring the karts. No worries about cost of repairs or maintaining then, plus these guys really know what they are doing and race prep them on the day for the track and the weather. They are seriously quick 98mph at top direct drive so instant power without a cluth and if you lock up the brakes the engine dies and when you lift off again it bump starts itself!!! takes a while to get used to but extreme fun. I am also getting a Mk2 Golf race prepped and together with a mate for a couple of track days next year then looking to start racing the year after. Let me know what action / track days you are planning to go to and we'll try to meet up, I think we are going to try to do all the Castle Combe action days as we live 30 mins away.

For all the racing sim fans on here, I know I have talked about Live For Speed before, but now there is another reason to download the game. In the first quater of next year a new patch is going to be released with the first branded car for the game... The new Scirocco!!! Check out this video http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rsYGl5fK93Q They really have done an awesome job of the car and like all cars in the game it will give you a chance to play around with the complete set up, gearing, geometry, brakes, tyres, steering, downforce, the list of configuration is endless. Let me know if anyone has this game already or if any of you get this game as I am thinking of setting up a server for it and a racing league for next year.

like the rare label that automatically gets slapped on the Oak Green Mk2 GTIs, my friend has owned 5 Oak Greens in the last 3 years and still owns two of them, but I guess he is making a tidy profit from the phenomonum

If you have early interior I have a brand new switch you can have for £7 delivered?

Is your Corrado the most unreliable car you've ever owned?
g60karmann replied to Jay2's topic in General Car Chat
I can't say anything major has gone wrong in the two and a bit years of owning mine, but I think most of the issues people get arn't that major and are just irratents or if they are major are down to poor maintenance (even the best garages get it wrong) My first car a 91 RSP mini cooper was less reliable than my corrado well in the way of electrics, brakes and body work anyway the engine and gearbox were as strong as an ox -
What controls or affects the air/fuel mixture on a VR?
g60karmann replied to martyjmcfly's topic in Engine Bay
I had the same problem with my g60 and I was a bit stumped when I found out it was my lambda sensor feed, as this was happening from cold start I thought the lambda sensor would be ignored and the chuck in shite loads of fuel to get it started map would be used? -
next time you see him cross the road don't stop... parents probably still wont care, or maybe they will because their benifits will be cut
-
ok a bit of a random one, but have you checked if the spare wheel is fixed down properly and not moving around squeeking? doh need to read all the posted before replying

along with the PAS pump mount :(

you could get a alloy one made up... I think some companies already do them, I got one for my charge cooler header tank that looks pretty sweet will put up some images when it is in.

Is this estimate if you have a VR as a base car to be converted?
-
i have an even older more complicated concept 50 clifford and it is a bag of wank. I just can't be bothered to pay out for another more simple alarm and then rip out the old one and fit the new one, yada yada yada. mine works of a very loose term, I have had a very similar problem to you, when i tried to start the car after the battery went flat one time all it did was lock the car when the key was turned to ignition and unlock the car when i took the key out of the barrel?!?!?! I had to disconnect the battery, let the alarm run its self down then re-connect the battery re-setting the alarm.

:D It is supprising how good it looks, I only did it that way as a quick fix till I could find a decent one where they were slightly angled towards me, but I have ended up keeping this one Yeah the A/F gauge just needs power and Lambda feed, it would probably work best with a seperate Lambda sensor solely for the A/F gauge, but I have had no problems using the existing one

search is your friend... http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=70256&p=817480&hilit=5+stud+conversion#p817480

good ol' mythbusters :D
-
yes but if they are original parts then there is a metal shaft that the bolt goes through and a metal casing around the rubber bush that fits very snuggly to the rear beam, its the metal casing that is a real pain to get out, use a heat gun and cut a slit out of it with an angle grinder, then crush it a little and smack it with a hammer should do the trick
-
mythbusters proved that wrong  you have more grip but less control when turning
-
yeah i fitted powerflex rear beam bushes the other month and they have made a massive difference to the handling, so much more grip as my KW V1's can now move more freely and keep the wheels on the road for longer. you have to use a special VW tool to fit the originals so I would stick with powerflex if you are going to do it yourself. the longest part of the job was removing the old bushes, which I ended up cutting out. The power just slot in with a little knock with a hammer to finish them off.

lots of throttle and handbrake use ;)
-
well the only tool you should need is a screw driver and a cutting tool of your choice to cut out the ashtray and lighter houseing. So not really a big or difficult job at all, getting the dash out is a 20min job cutting and perfecting the head unit fitment takes a little longer to get it tight and sitting properly. As for the dial holder that was a bit of plywood painted and then put rubber rings round the dials so they kinda clipped into the original head unit space

i like it :D cross between a stingwray and a deloreon fugly cool look, people have to push the bounderies of design otherwise we get into the situation we are in at the moment where you can't tell the difference from one plastic car to the next. Loving the interior as well, sweet fresh look to everything and the door cards look crazy

mine seems to be running fine for the last year, I will probe the ECU some time to check what the signal strength is there and also at the gauge and let you know... does anyone know what it should read at the ECU?
