for a modern car I have to say forkin lovely!!!!
-
would be great if you could let me know how it goes with the installation and any improvements :)

there is always the worry about damage to the expensive g but I think reducing temps pre will if anything help the life of the charger, the only issue I could think of would be firing it into an already unhealthy g. the safest / largest gains i can think of are either intercooler spray or pre charge cooler spray yeah i can't think of any corrado that has nitrous injection of any form, yet it seems like such a tried and tested cheap way of getting a lot more power, i guess there is the unfortunate fast n furious tacky feel to it but i am definetly interested in giving it a go

as titled has anyone done either, if so what do you think of the results? I was thinking that NOS being injected pre g-ladder would give some pretty good results with a charge cooler fitted, as it would compress the NOS and air and cool the charge cooler even further. I have seen some intercooler NOS spray systems that are suppose to work quite well and give a far cooler inlet temp. this was one of the kits for the intercoolers : - http://www.nitrousexpress.com/Pages/Ntercooler.htm

g60karmann replied to corrado_sunderland's topic in Engine Bay
what was in yuor boost return kit? 1) one larger filter and a blanking plate 2) two small filters and one larger filter and a blanking plate 3) one small filter, one larger filter and a blanking plate with a small pipe if you can please take some pictures of the engine bay, also was it just the boost return mod that you fitted and then it started doing this? you also mention disconnection the lambda, have you noticed popping from the exhaust on overrun? take the spark plugs out and have a look to see if it is running rich if it is plug the lambda back in -
G60 with BBM charger, stg 5 chip, neuman cams...
g60karmann replied to gilty's topic in Members Gallery
Hi gilty that is one nice look g 8) is that a modified BBM ISV i can see in the top pic? what psi does it bleed at? -
same thing happens with electric windows as well this is probably a case of needing to take the switch out and clean the connections i had to do this with my drivers window, the problem was only there when i held the switch to close the window but if i double tapped it the window would go up smoothly to see if this is the case for you (and if yours still works) go above 45 and see if the spoiler goes up smoothly or you could just clean the switch connections for good measures

Corrado's are becoming rare and the more people that are breaking them are bumping up the value for us who stick with 'em, but it's getting to the point where it is going to be hard to get hold of any kind of decent Corrado. Corrado parts are expensive enough at the moment, as the car becomes even rarer these prices will only increase and the availability will reduce. There is no point breaking a perfectly working car in my opinion

It's all about getting down to business, I would go for the Super T's

All of a sudden my MFA wont read above 5mpg!!! that can't be right? can it?

I use a VR clutch in my g60 and it feels much more solid than the g60 one. Done 20k miles of hard daily driving on it and it still feels strong. I haven't heard anyone complain about VR clutches on here and unless you are going extreme turbo or super charger power I wouldn't think you would need an uprated clutch. Even then I would rather go for a standard clutch as if you are putting big power through with the possibility of something breaking, then best its the clutch that breaks as it is pretty cheap / easy to replace.

chargecooler or intercooler on Vr6 Supercharged
g60karmann replied to ANTIHERO's topic in Engine Bay
you would be best to use the washer jet tank or use a smaller tank between the battery and headlight, the washer jet tank would be the prefered to save weight and space. If you have it in the boot air will likely get in the system making for poor cooling, it is best to have the tank at the highest point. Doh too slow at typing!!! That looks like a sweet boot set up but I would have thought for the weight gain of all that pipework and extra tank the washer tank would have been a better option? are there any benefits of having this set up other than wow factor when opening the boot? -
when will British motorist finally crack and go on a killing rampage... ok OTT but still when will British motorist get together and go on strike over these out right criminal TAX and fuel prices there must be a point when enough is enough?

chargecooler or intercooler on Vr6 Supercharged

look on the second hand market as well, I got mine from a small ad in the back of PVW for dirt cheap, basically picked it up with a box full of the charge cooler, rad, pump, pipes, belt tensioner, sns chip and grey cossy injectors for £260  happy days, could do with replacing the slightly dented rad but it works for now :) -
Thanks for the advice yeti! I have been up to Stealth a couple of times now and they really know their stuff. I'm not thinking about doing a conversion for a couple of years now, but I was aiming this more at people that have gone through the pain of converting or people that own a converted car and to hear their issues / joys with the conversion. Really this is to find out what conversion is best for a mean weekend / track car and which is best for a daily driver etc. I was going to go down the 1.8 20vt conversion before I started modding my g60 lump, but after looking into it more I started talking to owners of 1.8 20vt converted cars and heard of some bad storys. Almost everyone was complaining of poor mapping even from specialists for daily and agressive driving. But time changes things and I went out in a Corrado on Tuesday that this guy had at the Hungerford VW Meet which had a 1.8 20vt pushing out 315bhp. We went for a steady drive round town to warm it up and it was smooth, quiet, comfortable and getting 38mpg!!! When we got to some country roads the thing was a beast! I mean seriously quick but still smooth. Turns out he got a recent remap up at Stealth. I guess I started this thread to hear where people have got it right and also where they have got it wrong.

What are peoples opions on which engine conversion provides a great daily driver and obviously fast exciting weekender for the Corrado I'm thinking what peoples experiences with cost, ease of installation, performance, future proofing (upgrades), daily-drive-ability, mpg, any irritations or niggles, etc I know there are plenty of how to conversion guides on here but I thought this would be a good place for anyone thinking of doing a conversion to hear of the issues / joys from people that have done conversions or own a converted car

camber can be adjusted by undoing the two bolts on the bottom of the front shocks then angle the wheel to the right camber and tighten them again, the easiest way to do this is undo the top bolt then just slightly loosen the bottom one and adjust
-
like i said you can choose about 250 different engine sounds to go with your mood  f40 / enzo / milk float / jcb LOL
-
Thats around £100 cheaper than the all dayer at Brands Hatch!!! But it is further away and a shorter track :( keep us posted on when you are planning on going though as it would be sweet to get a Corrado gathering of beginners to go for a track day 8)
-
can't access the page at work :(
-
Hmmm i wouldnt mind doing this, but i like the idea of an open pit lane rather then 3 x 20 min stints. I think Piston Heads have track days like that but I don't know whether you can get the instructor lessons on those days plus you will be mixed up with the impatient pros as well as the novices
-
I think looking at it the best way is to make up some new mounts for the radiator to sit futher back in the engine bay as the boost pipes wont be in the way of the fan anymore. Then you will also get more distance between the radiator and the intercooler
-
I'm planning on heading to Brands Hatch in late August for a novice track day if anyone else who has never been on the track before wants to join?
-
Ah so you have a Corrado as well as a sweet Passat?
