I'm sorry but that is the worst advice I have ever heard. Putting aside the fact that removing the ABS system from a car originally fitted with ABS is now MOT fail-able, it's just plain stupid to simply remove it and expect your brakes to be better. Yes, the mk3 golf teves20 system fits as per the above link, your best bet is finding a late passat b4 with ABS and take everything off that otherwise you need to do some cutting, splicing and lengthening of loom to get it to fit. Sadly finding a late Passat B4 with ABS is quite rare these days. As you'll be fitting a 1.8t I presume you'll be using a 'stubby' master cylinder from an Ibiza Cupra which is a larger piston, that should improve the braking. Have a look on club gti about focus master cylinder, they are the same as cupra ones as a fraction of the price, they just need a little tweak to fit them. Also, hopefully you are not taking out a 6 pot to put a 4 pot in (judging from the 256mm rear brake comment its a valver), so you'll be able to upgrade to a 9" servo, or use the Teves20 servo. Lastly, decent brake fluid and braided lines will help get a decent brake pedal. I've done all of the above and brakes are good, but brake pads let the whole system down at the moment.

M reg 16v 9A engine swop for a AGN Egine, has anyone done this?
swiftkid replied to jarques2005's topic in Engine Bay
The physical swap is dead easy, mounts are off the shelf and you could probably get it done within a day - the time consuming bit is the little extra's, boost pipes etc. If you do your research, make sure you have all the parts there and ready to go on I don't see why you couldn't get it done but be prepared to not have it done in time (waiting on forgotten parts) -
Holy thread revival batman, I remember 2015 like it was over 4 years ago.

Swapping from a 9a to a 20v or a 20vt would be a similar swap I reckon. The only difference being some intercooler piping as you'll still need a custom downpipe, custom loom etc etc. The loom itself I'd imagine to be very similar, CE2 swapping to something of that era isn't too difficult, heck I made my own conversion loom by picking up a wiring diagram and teaching myself. Clubgti pretty much has a full DIY loom conversion guide on the 1.8t, which as I said, should be very similar to the 20v. Having driven a 1.8 20v non turbo you'll be highly disappointed compared with the 9a. If you are not in search of power and you only want to carry on driving the rado as it is I'd advise sourcing another 9a which you can either swap over or rebuild at your leisure, looking for an ABF (mk3 golf) or getting something like a 150bhp 1.8t. -
I've got an entire ABS system I've just removed from my 1995 VR6 in full working condition, removed to fit Teves20 system. Light came on and went off as usual, no ABS fault codes as I scanned it before removal, only minor issue was at low speeds abs would start trying to help out, this is the pedal position sensor which has been discussed in numerous conversations but tbh I lived with it for 7 years, the fix is to take it apart and clean/resolder joints inside but you can just use your sensor. Wanting £150 but this is literally an entire ABS system, including rear sensors which were replaced recently but not front as I needed them.

Hopefully get some pictures to update the thread soon if I can be bothered. Over the winter/summer I've fitted a Teves20 ABS system, Mk4 climate control, fully braided hoses & new lines, redone the bushes, my dad has also dropped a light on my rear bumper so that needs repainting. And finally to top that all off I've been battling to find where the exhaust has been leaking, my emissions have been all over the place since day 1 of this conversion. I've had a down pipe fabricated with vband end, removed and fully sealed the exhaust with high temp silicone sealant and it is still blowing. Further investigation last night found one of the threads in the manifold to head has been stripped, oh joy... time for a helicoil and if that doesn't fix it, I'm going back to VR6

Out of interest, Manchester body building... Cartwrights by any chance?

After nearly 5 years of running the R32 I finally got a proper downpipe made for it and a decat. Turns out my 'sports cat' was straight through anyway. Didn't opt for a full system although on the way home I wish I had, BAS**** thing was blowing like crazy on the way home so time to jack it up and reseal it all tonight and hopefully it will play nice.

Must.... post.... enough.... to reach minimum post limit As bad as the bloody spambots that get on here

Welcome to the club, I think every corrado in the world needs at least minor bits sorting! Most importantly though, pictures of said car

sold 1993 Burgundy Corrado R32 (290bhp)
swiftkid replied to Fanjita's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
Not surprised it sold that quick, you couldn't even pay someone to do the conversion for less than that. -
See in the link I attached, I'm betting you've got the first 2 wires on top row connected and 1st wire on second row connected. Check the 3rd wire along on top row as that's your ignition live

I bought ARP from Arrow Precision as they weren't that much more expensive than VW

That PDF doesn't seem to work fender. Try this: https://pinoutguide.com/Car-Stereo-Volkswagen-Porsche/Volkswagen_Gamma_VWZ1Z3_H_pinout.shtml If it's lighting up, powered up etc. I'd hazard a guess and say the pins are wrong on the plug into the head unit itself. Even if ignition live & permanent were mixed up it would still fire up.

TV* are those multi coloured ones onto of the fusebox if I remember correctly This any good: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-CORRADO-GOLF-MK2-LATE-TYPE-MK3-FUSEBOX-WIRING-LOOM-CONNECTOR-701937501A/401624119613?hash=item5d82a9b93d:g:Ad4AAOSwQPlV-VMV

I got a raceland one, only a cheapy one not a full on performance one but as I was N/A I didn't see the point in spending a fortune. Coating it might be different but after I fitted the manifold I was getting about +10 degrees oil temps. I did go OBD2 at the same time but I put it down to the 6 branch given it got a lot hotter than standard.
-
just my 2p, unless you are supercharged don't bother. I put a 6 branch on mine and the only thing it did was drone more and increase the engine bay temps quite considerably, and that was with it wrapped as well. From what I have heard and read the standard manifold flows really well and obviously has the benefit of a well positioned flexi unlike the 6 branch which are prone to cracking.

To be honest it doesn't really surprise me, edition has always been that place you see 100 threads a day in general chat alone, talking about rubbish and the members rides full of people that will spend £15k on their car in 6 months then break it and never to be seen again. It was the fashionable place to be, but I'm guessing required a hell of a lot of moderating meanwhile the likes of facebook do the moderating for you at no cost. Places like this might be quiet but will always be full of info and worthwhile chat, not the 100th thread that day asking "how do I 1.8t my car". I think all forums will eventually go quiet as cars get older and people sell up but most members on here have been here for years so are fairly loyal.

At 1 point I had 4 sets but I'm down to 2 now. Standard speedlines which I'll never sell but also never fit again and the wheels fitted although I am shopping for some different wheels at the moment.

HAREWOOD HOUSE, leeds, leeds, leeds
swiftkid replied to Cressa's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
I left fairly early on the sunday so might have been, was just after lunchtime as I didn't fancy putting my car on the showfield and hanging around until 4, I was still pretty moist from the rain on the friday & saturday. Managed to get it onto the field Saturday and not get it too muddy driving through the fields. Show was good although very wet and muddy, we lost our gazebo on saturday, wind literally lifted it up and folded it in half whilst we were holding onto it!! -

There again, same spot. Got into show and shine on the saturday (even though it's due to chuck it down all day) -
welcome to the forum, get some pictures up when you get the car. I'm only across the bridge from you near Hull, think theres a few local corrado's as well

Yes, I've never removed the driveshaft. Enough movement to undo and move it out the way
