Don't want to sound unpatriotic, but TBH I didn't think Button would ever be a champion... I don't know what it is, maybe that 'take no prisoners instinct' or whatever - Hamilton and Alonso had that presence about them from the word go, as did Raikkonen... who then bluffed, double bluffed and arguably lucked into the 2007 title much like Jenson. Massa and Barrichello are the same too - they've both had superb moments, but somehow you just can't see them in that worlds best category. As to the confirmations today, I'm betting Whitmarsh and to an extent Ron are both getting friction burns from the rubbing-hands-with-glee prospect of the merchandising they can score off the back of F1's new Team GB :lol: .......couldnt agree more on the driver front......Hamilton and Alonso are in another league from all the others as far as I'm concerned - I think they have that complete cut throat attitude that all the previous best had....schuey, senna etc.......

I think its odd that Button has gone to Maclaren, I cant see this working for him :shrug: .....but then again I would never have thought Button would have been champion this time last year :lol:

uhhmmm not sure I agree, Vettel is indeed a talent but Rosberg has shown consistency this year.....Nico is defo one to watch, I think he will be up there in the coming years.

I think it shows that even though button won the title he still isnt as highly regarded as a lot of other drivers........in the same way as Hill wasnt really considered to be one of the best really !!

Lambo for me, Gallardo still is and will be for a long time the best looking super car especially now they have sorted the rear lights out IMO !!!

Lewis will walk all over Button for the majority of next season if they are team mates IMO !!! Under perfect conditions, with the perfect car and on his day Button is quick, but it isnt his day everyday and the conditions are very rarely perfect.....I know he won the title but I think it had a lot to do with no other 'experienced' driver taking the season by the scruff of its neck and making it his. dont get me wrong though I still would like to see Button win but my head says he's nowhere near Lewis. All German and All English Line ups.......we just need Fisichella back with Badoer at Ferrari and hey presto :lol: ......good idea with this thread by the way :salute:

when it started I thought great this is what Top Gear should be about - reviewing three amazing super cars - but it was short lived......scripted banter is just not funny - just get in the bloody cars and drive them like you stool them :brickwall: the perverse thing is I will still watch it every week, but a lot of the times I find it annoying...... :sleeping:

Its such a small increase you really have to be looking at the needle to notice it which obviously most people dont do just before changing gear !! swoompy we cant both be bad drivers :lol:

Couple of weeks ago I noticed something strange.......when I change gear at over 2k rpm as I ease of the accelerator and engage the clutch the revs momentairly rise by around 100 rpm before dropping - I've had the car for four years now and havent noticed this before. :scratch: Does this happen to anyone else, I noticed 'Wompa' has mentioned something similar in his thread which made me think of 'putting it out there' to everyone. Funny thing is I noticed my polo 1.4 does it as well. Its a VR by the way. Any thoughts ??

I've never seen that before.....really cool......video looks dated though, suggests its an older concept that never took off. Bet the mechanisms weighed a ton though.
