  1. I Know it is just for the DVLA database. but surely if some more are seen on the UK's roads then they are worth a mention?
  2. and the lituanian black G60 i saw yestersday, think there is another one near me too.
  3. If they don't work then just cover them up, if they are not there to be tested then you can't fail on them. My old company car had a smashed front foglight and that never got fixed. i ended up just gaffa taping it up and it was never a problem. obviously you can take the tape off after the test.

    Bolsters

I was just in a breakers yard and was wondering about the seat bolsters too. To me it looks like Mk3 golf seats are the same, appart from the runners of course. wouldn't you be able to gut a good Mk3 seat for all the foam parts. would this be possible?
  5. Sorry Stu, Won't be today, got a phone call saying my mate won't be at work today because he's stuck in spain. Don't know how that happened but my boss was annoyed with me because i have him off and another one of my engineers called in sick. Work that out, sometimes i can never win. I will have a word with him as soon as he is back. Did you do much to the gooney over the weekend?

  9. Had this happen to me too, i pulled the horn off the steering wheel in the end seeming as it decided to happen at about 1 in the morning as i started the car outside my house. I changed the three springs between the horn assembly and has never happened since...
  10. After few weeks of problems, looking at getting some new parts. Need to get new suspension as have got two shocks that are shot. Will need to also repalce both top mounts at the front, where do i get these from and how much am i looking at, also after an incident with a fox christmas eve i need a new fog light, how much is repalcement glass for these?
  11. was fixing gas analysers on friday and decided to test them on my car. was a mistake as the car failed the BET test and the full cat test too. 02 and HC were fine but the co read 0.6 (should be 0.30) and lambda was 1.034 ( should be 1.03) Decided to check the ecu for fault codes and found the following; 00537 lambda control-regulation g limit exceeded 00520 air mass/ flowmeter-g70/g19 Sporadic: open short circuit to earth 00587 adjustment limit mixture regulation: adaption limit exceeded autodata said chek the earth on the inlet manifold but the only earth i can see is by the distributor.anyone had any of these problems before? don't think the cat is at fault but possibly the lambda sensor. anyone know a good supplier to get one from, don't mind if it is universal fit? also got ABS fault codes as; 00532 supply voltage 00285 speedsensor front right-g45 00287 speedsensor rear right-g44 don't want to get 2 sensors if abs unit or something simple is at fault. maybe it would be worth keeping a full list of trouble codes and suggested fixes for them

    Emissions...

what were the rest of the results (co2 and o2) your lambda seems low, sure this should be about 1.2ish. this could point to a fault with the machine itself. what engine do you have? i service and calibrate mot equipment, i will look and see tomorrow what the defined limits are after a BET test is failed and see if i can replicate similar readings. if you could post all the results that would be more helpful. Have had times when garages have failed 4 or 5 cars all on lambda because of a leak in their equipment. more likely than not its something with the car but i can see what happens
  14. First things to do is sort out a replacement manifold and get it serviced and new bushes all round. It does need lowering though, but thats for another day. tinting rear lights in a week or 2. Badges are getting colour coded and need a new de-badged grill. speakers and cd player soon.. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfImage382.jpg[/attachment:21d47] Image383.jpg[/attachment:21d47] will slowly add new pics, as things change or possibly fall off!!
  15. Had it about 3 weeks now, love it. Has been cleaned since these pics but here it is. seems like the more i look at it the more the more things i want/need to change.
  16. Just got my 2.0 16v corrado, had it about a week now and you lot have been life savers. looks like i've had a few of the usual problems. all started a couple of days ago. 5th gear became really hard to select, no worries found out what it could be but still couldn't fix it. I'm an engineer for a garage eqpt co so called a few garages asked what it could be.found a replacement box for 80 quid and thats gonna be fitted next week, then today on the way to pick it up the girlfriend tried to open the sunroof and it wouldn't open one side. luckly where i was getting the gearbox from had a C that had been smashed up. took the mech out, (£5 Bargin) but couldn't test it. at home found out same bit as i needed was broken!! oh well at least i now know how to repair it when/if i can get the repair kit. Next job is to change the rear bushes, it didn't like having 5 people in the car last nite. Does anyone know of a good VW breaker/supplier in norfolk?? Need door handle surrounds.
