  1. Ok so i have submitted my 2 quotes for the repairs to their insurance company, 1 is for around 1700 and the other about 1200. As the incident was no fault of my own and my car means a great deal to me as it does to many of you, can i insist that the vehicle is repaired to how it was. This is really stressing me out now. Even if they offer me a cash settlement i don't want it. I don't want another corrado i want mine back to how it was. I really don't think that is an unreasonable thing to ask. I don't see why i should be out of pocket, or without something that means a great deal to me when there is absolutly no doubt that it was the other persons fault. By law can i insist on a repair? Please, someone must have been in this situation. Help a very unhappy corrado owner :(
  2. I too would say get an arosa. Look about, they pop up now and again on ebay really chaep (about 1k+ autotrader). I got my mrs 1 for £550 with 73k on the clock, a full mot 6 mths tax and all the service stamps appart from 1 and that was the 1.4 with electric windows  . Really economical and vw reliablity. It has only cost me 2 tyres which at £24 each didn't hurt much. Just don't get an orange one if you get one. Impossible not to look a bit soft while driving it trust me.
  3. Sorry to hear about your car mate, hopefully it will all end up ok. Wheels looked awesome. I'm in the same situation as you at the moment because somebody has hit my car too :( .
  4. Door might be fixed, hope so they are 515.56+Vat New :pale: But need a new wing. VW strike again at £240.04+Vat. Seriously worried now don't want it written off. My cars not going anywhere though,I don't want it written off just to get another one. I am now at the point where i know my car and its few of fault, i've spent the last 2 years sorting the rest. They last being the manifold and thrust bearing rattle but they were planned to be sorted soon anyhow. I don't want another car with new problems OUCH, 1 quote from the VW bodyshop just came in. A massive £1,772.78 all in. They also state that the wing and door mouldings are no longer avaliable if anyone wondered.
  5. i just wasn't sure if it would effect anything. It's nothing dodgy or anything i was just unsure of the procedures. My car was parked outside of the house and nobody was in it. I will call both insurers tomorrow i just didn't want it to effect my policy in any way.
  6. As i have stated in my members gallery, today somebody hit my car while it was parked and have damaged the wing and door. They have accepted responsability so going to get some quotes tomorrow. I have never had anything like this happen before so really need to know do i have to notify my insurance company although i have spoken to their insurance company and they have said they will fix it. I don't see the need to inform my insurance and put my premiums up but do i legally have to notify them. I really don't want to do something and end up getting it wrong. Thanks for any advice, Darren
  7. well just spoken to their insurance company and been told i need to get a couple of quotes. The bloke driving has admitted total responsability so should all get sorted. Just spoken to 1 body shop and am going there tomorrow. What should be nice is that the bloke i spoke to also owns a corrado so hopefully it should be treated right if it goes there.
  8. So today started out great. Booked this morning off to spend with the little one, watched a couple of kids films and just relaxed about the house. Was due in to work at 2 for a couple of hours and happened to look out of my frontroom window to be greated by my car with a great big dent down the side of it and a little bit of paper flapping about under the window wipers. :censored: :censored: Have contacted the company who hit my car and they have accepted full reliability so should be ok. plus it would have been caught on the cctv so trying to get that just to cover my ar*e. Now it seems that in recent months a few of you have shared a similar experience with people hitting your cars. I just wanted to know, because it wasn't my fault am i entitled to insist my car be repaired if they try and write it off? also as i have never had to make any sort of claim with regerds to anything do i need to contact my insurance? :bad-words: :brickwall: Poorcar.jpg[/attachment:1n81mqwp]
  9. They look really good, re-tinted my tail lights last weekend. Haven't flatted or polished the laquer yet though Hope they look as shiney as yours. Loving red corrados at the moment. Only thing that puts me off is the upkeep to keep them looking as nice as yours, don't think my pipe cleaner arms could manage it.
  10. So it sounds a bit tight but last night i was in tescos and i spotted those universal blade wipers a bit like the lupo ones. I have been looking for TT arms cheap for ages and just pop into the scrap yards every so often. But until i get 2 arms i thought i would try these. They seem ok and appear to wipe better than the standard ones. and at only £6 for the 2 i thought i would try them. Has anyone else used these?

    boot alignment

Image0104.jpg[/attachment:39lwyzu0] If you look at the pic above you will see that the rear 1/4 panel line and the boot line don't quite line up. How do you re align them. it is the same either side. do you twist the rubber stoppers? what about the boot catch? i don't want to go playing around and be left with a boot that won't close. Sure its very straight forward but thought i would ask before i go charging in. Only noticed it because i was getting annoyed yesterday trying to align my tail lights. Thanks in advance, Darren
  12. So recently my car has developed an annoying rattle from the exhaust, i know that it is the downpipe heatshield. I can see that it has broken away from where it bolts to near the cat. Has anyone managed to repair this, i was thinking of just getting it tac welded to the exhaust or getting some sort of clip for it. Any ideas and advice would be great because it looks like a bit of a pain to replace the whole thing. Thanks in advance, Darren
  13. 1 brownie/gold corrado in belgium. Have driven from king's lynn to dover>france>belgium
  14. Might have just found him an engine, there are a couple for sale on another local forum. Just txt him Because i thought he had fixed it. Its always in different places when i go to my dads, guess he must just push it around and make noises in it to cheer himself up . Seriously feel sorry for him though he has only had the car on the road for a few months out of the year and a half he has owned it. Got to be nice now, can't laugh at his misfortune, he has just registered as pricey16v. Sure he didn't sit in it making noises, but bet he will :D
  15. no way, he really is unlucky. said he should have put the VR6 out of my golf when i sold it :D Seroiusly though he really hasn't had any luck. I keep telling him to get on here sure he would be able to find a engine replacement fairly easily. Bet his missus is loving giving him lifts everywhere again.
  16. I've only seen the green storm once outside comet a year or so ago so i have no idea. If you want a hand sure i can help, and dan. He knows how to take everything apart now but just don't let him put anything back together.
  17. Good work mate, i hate when people chop wiring looms about. Mine was the same. First thing i did to mine because it just really annoyed me. I love Red :D
  18. He has been really unlucky with that car, did he show you his rear shock absorber? I Gave him a spare i had because he had been driving around with his snapped in half. I said to him it looked like the head was weaping when he changed the engine, and the matrix has gone. Feel sorry for him really especially every time i drive past his, it's looking all sorry for itself. He has far more patience than me. U got a good bargain there then, i want leather in mine. Why don't you swap test his isv with yours. From what i remember that could be one of the only things that is working on his. :D Back to yours though, from what i remember them saying at the garage was that it was a split pipe that was causing a problem, think they done a temp repair foc so it was probably just a bit of tape round. Would have thought that if its that again you should be able to find it and that would cause it to idle roughly. Another thing to check would be the metering head, when i got mine it was well crappy and i found an old bit of filter in there aswell.
  19. Pricey? only know him as Dan, lives down sidney St and his car is always off the road. Know his car is burninng oil after his recent engine change. Certain Docker has sold his,he had it parked up on the A47 for a while. Think i see him in a corsa the other day. Small world indeed. Have you only just got the car then?
  20. It was me indeed, nothing wrong with North Bin i'll have you know lived there for half my life  If you think its the ISV take it off and clean it out. Mine ran like a bag of poop and would not idle so i blasted it out with clutch cleaner. Some poeple soak it in petrol too. If not i don't think it will be much help but i have a scan tool that will read it. But sure it will only really do the ABS. More than willing to have a look another night with you, i work on north lynn ind est so if you want any help let me know. I also have emissions testers and autodata at work so might be able to work something out. Seems that we have quite a few corrado's in kings lynn. There is mine, yours, my mate Dans (grey) 16v, mate mikes blue VR6, another white VR6 which is often parked near me, a blue g60 and a black g60,red 16v, blackberry VR6 often seen by on the hospital bypass, another grey 16v on g60 steelies and last year a bloke who worked near me had a nugget but don't know if thats still about. Also see now and again the Green/Black and orange/black special edition corrados around. Seems that they are becoming too popular may have to start driving the gf's orange arosa to stand out now :( :( These are getting far to common
  21. Very nice mate, have seen it a couple of times round lynn. Managed to have a good look round when it was in for starting problems at gile bros a good few months back. There are quite a few Corrados in lynn now. Where abouts in lynn you from?
  22. When my seal wasn't quite sitting right the coolant blew out the side of the bottle in quite an explosive way once it got up to temp. I found out by running it up to temp on my drive by accident. Scared the life out of my because i was standing right by it at the time. I would have thought yours would do the same if the seal wasn't any good
  23. This is the chap i got mine from, was very good had no bother at all and were very easy to fit. Couldn't believe the difference once they were fitted. Not sure if he has anymore but i would think if he got enough interest he would make some more :) http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 25&t=74542 Sorry i don't know how to shorten the link.
  24. I now have autodata CD3 loaded onto my laptop. If anyone needs anything like wiring diagrams etc reply on this post and i will see if i can get the info as a screen dump. Don't know if i can post it on the forum to help everyone for copyright reasons so i may have to pm you so if somebody could let me know that would be great. The info i would need is; Year of car, make, model, engine capacity and engine code. Please try and remember that most of the time i am on this forum when i am at work so if replies are a little slow it is because i am busy. If this is against any rules i am sorry and please delete. Just thought it may be helpful
