VR6 timing chains. Few questions from the chaps that know.

How many of those needed a rebuild? -
What are you appealing against? You know the law (or at least you should), and you've choosen to break it! Deal with it! What's that old saying? "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." Speeding though a town with missing number plate? If it was upto me you would get banned!
-
I expect an F1 car is poor below 3k rpm, but I wouldn't say it had "underwhelming performance"!
-
My old VR use to go like a bat out of hell between 4k and 6k! All the people I gave rides too in the 2½ years of ownership would agree with me. The performance of the VR6 is nothing short of fantastic.
-
How do you come to work that out!? The VR6 is pretty damn quick by todays standards even though it's 15 odd years old! Quote Parkers: "is well equipped with serious power and precision." "The VR6 model is a capable muscle car" Quote J Clarkson: "a £20k Ferrari" "but the VR6 was about as close as you could get to Ferraridom without buying a Ferrari" I would sugest if you find it "underwhelming" you have a problem.
-
lol, £50k !!! Thats at least 1000 nights in a B&B!
-
Sounds like you need an OE exhaust from VW.
-
Lable everything and take lots of photos, before, during and after. Good luck.
-
Similar but not the same unfortunately, the spokes are slimmer on the Scooby ones and there are no holes between the main wheel bolt holes. :)
-
There nice, look a bit like a Borbet wheel I remember a few years ago, no idea what model though.
-
I assume your taking the p*&% This shouldn't happen, it's either a fault with the car or a fault with your driving!
-
That sucks, I think every bid should add 10 secs to the time.
-

If I had stuck a 2.8 V6 into one of those, when I came to sell it I would have some details of the conversion, also some photos of the engine bay. Not to mention I wouldn't have all the details for a 1.6 model on the page either. As for weight, by the time you dropped a V6 and all the extra bits in to make it work I doubt it will be much lighter than a Corrado. I've sent a message asking a few more questions.

What am I looking at? It's just an old Skoda with a typo on the price.
-
Hard to say, you should start with a vag-com check.
-
Will depend on location too. The chunk of paint that came off by my passenger door handle is really thick, much thicker than the chips on the bonnet.
-
Don't US spec cars have running lights, and not side repeters ?
-
I know, the car in question has no indicators.
-
And the Indicators ? I'm suprised no one has removed the windows and wheels too and just left with a smooth blob of metal!
-
If you can get the car side plug off your old car then it wouldn't be too hard to stick it on with a little solder and some heatshrink. Although if you have the whole loom part from your old car it would be neater to move it all over, but I've no idea how hard that would be.
-
I wouldn't think on a turbo car you would lose much, I might expect boost spikes though if the leaks are bad and/or in the wrong place.
-
Personally I think the best looking corrados are near standard, just a little drop in ride hight. VW really did hit the nail on the head with this car. As has been said already change for changes sake. Anyone got a photo of the 'Pink' one?
-
Each to there own I guess.
