1. I have an Alfa 156 2.5 V6 24v a "T" reg, good car but want something smaller, i have never owned a soft top or a mid engined car, has anyone ever owned one ? Any comments on friends/family owning one, or any comment about the high level of my own stupidity for even thinking about doing this, are welcome (i think !?)
2. Maybe he needs another bang on the head, to reset the effects of the first bang on his head..........a fool and his money
3. I too get 60+mb and even get 24mb or so on my phone via wireless router, one of the good things and maybe the only good thing about virgin. I get 3-4mb on my phone via the network (on 3) Good result though Wullie, things like that that make you a loyal customer for a long time.
4. I bought my first C aged 6 months, do i win ? Feck, people might see through my last statement because that would make it 1972.....
5. Thats all you need to say, and your wife and kids are who you are doing it for, throw in the bonus of having a C and all looks well and good.
6. What sort of wheel is it then buddy ? I don't recall seeing this kind of wheel before.
7. Mmm im the opposite have a easy job, no stress, no kids, no mortgage, so you have what i've wanted all my life but it hasn't happened for one reason or another. The grass is always greener, all that means to me is that you swap one load of problems/anxieties for another. I saw a t-shirt online and it sums it up quite well it says "This wasn't the life i ordered" Sounds like you have a hard job, maybe try to remedy that and the rest will fall into place, sounds to me like your doing ok apart from that. Its a sign of the times unfortunately that we work harder for less, i know class 1 HGV driver's who do 12-15 hours a day and they earn circa £35k, there are not many jobs you could do that if you get wrong you could end up in prison.
8. It could be just the cables are a bit stiff and when the engine bay heats up they free off a bit.
9. I think its just the way the car is, mine tended to snatch into second with a mild crunch if i was too quick, is that what you mean ?
10. That should be i think its pearl green under all that dirt, why didn't he at least clean the car if he wants to sell it ? As Portent has already expertly evaluated the car, i would just say that its not a great example, keep looking mate you'll turn up trumps soon.
11. Although i wouldn't disagree with Dragon Green, i had the same problem as you the 1-2 shift just didnt feel right, new engine mounts did cure it.
12. That must be a rocket, imagine him trying to explain all of that to to his insurers....
13. Rainsport 2's. I had some when i got my car on the original speedies, they are quite soft as is the side wall, and they screetch round the corner which is fairly entertaining, good in the wet (obviously !?) and offer a lot of grip in the dry, the best thing is scaring your passengers with the squeeling round the corners :smug:
14. Yea done mine, is the idea of three photo's a before, during, and after, people ruining err i mean modding their car ?
15. Isnt swampy selling some flexi's on the supplier bit ? I got some for my 288 fronts and they are very good, about £27 IIRC.
16. Yea only five years so just started, took me three years to get 100 posts....:bonk:
17. I thought the less the et the closer to the car it is, but its the other way round...... gonna have to stop trying to answer technical question-----points for trying ??
18. Looks like i got the idea of the et the wrong way round, but if you swap my numbers round they make sense....... he says trying to convince himself and everyone else.

Banjo bolts

Swampy i thought there could be two thread depths (1mm and 1.5mm) depending on the source vehicle ?
20. The wheels are quite open if you know what i mean which are not my taste, but they look pretty good IMHO. The front wishbones go for a dead straight line across from each side with the subframe, i have tried all sorts on combo's with mine and thats as low as you want to go whilst keeping good handling.

Mk3 16v calipers ? I have Golf mk3 vr6 calipers which fit the 288mm disks, is that what you meant ?
22. I wish i would have said that, would have been far simpler !
23. Mate my brain hurts thinking about this !! Ok so 7.5j they are 1" wider than OE (6.5j) which is 1/2" each edge of the wheel (+12mm). With an et of 35, the inside edge would be 8mm + 12mm = 20mm So your new wheels the inside edge would be 20mm closer to the strut. The outside would be -8mm + 12mm = 4mm so the outside would stick out 4mm more than OE. The centreline of the wheel (looking from above) would be -8mm I give up mate ! im going for a lay down.
