  1. That exchange rate doesn't appear correct (according to paypal), however i was more concerned about not giving the guy enough. Looks like i gave him £100.31, so he'll have enough to buy himself a nice cup of tea !! Cheers BILLCOR, you can add me to the list as paid.

    Sound-proofing

Or wear earplugs ? Turn your stereo up ? Or get old and a bit deaf like me, then it doesn't matter.....
  3. You get the best car you can afford to buy and run, these cars seem to be relatively cheap to buy, but aren't as cheap to run as their second-hand price would indicate. I ummed and arrred for a while before i settled for the C, i have never regretted it for a second, so it must have been the right choice. Maybe more people have heard of all the Ford RS'S, you have to be in "the know" to take a punt on a near 20 year old VW coupe. The grass will always be greener though, whatever car you buy.
  4. Hopefully BILLCOR can update us on, when and to who, we should send payment to, its difficult to decipher just how far along the path we are with these, maybe BILLCOR could give us a estimated timescale especially for the intellectually challenged people such as myself........... :camp: Obviously mucho kudos going to BILLCOR for trying to help everyone out with this, i doff my hat to you Sir .......:salute:
  5. Agree, but then i might be biased....
  6. A heavy duty wire wheel on an angle grinder works wonders on areas like that, it makes the underseal turn into a white spiders web which covers everything, its good though cos all it leaves behind is good metal,
  7. I think the chap you spoke to doesn't seem confident in his own abilities which is a bit worrying in itself, the factory specs are obtainable, i know when i watched mine being done there is quite a lot of adjustment available to them. Unless you are going to adjust the camber yourself or are going to change the camber regularly due to changes in ride height, then i wouldn't bother with the correcting bolts, the chap should be good enough to adjust accurately without them. People do have variations in their settings and you don't necessarily need to follow what vw say to the letter, there have been threads on here with what people have experienced, it can depend on ride height, the size of wheel used, and driving style.
  8. My horses are well and truly held..........:salute: I doff my hat to you Sir for sorting this out.
  9. Thats about £160, thats nearly as bad as £145 for the roof trim, this is getting an expensive hobby........
  10. Thanks man, no prob's, cheers for letting me know. robo22sri let me know when your ready.
  11. Well i did say in a way, It would take nothing short of a revolution to change things, can't see that happening anytime soon, since the eighties we have seen more and more about what goes on in the government and its no wonder people are frustrated. It would take a new movement, where people stopped being sheep and stuck together in order for that to happen, unfortunately there are so many differing religious groups, ethnic backgrounds, and beliefs, i cant see that happening either.
  12. Maybe that joke doesn't travel well, whenever you tell someone what something cost, thats what they say, well in these parts anyway.....
  13. In a way its good to get a bit of transparency, to see how bad things truly are, whenever i think of politicians i always this of "Yes Minister" in its time, it was quite an accurate portrayal.
  14. Over £100 !? You could probably get a new one for that...........
  15. With the subframe off its much easier thats how i did mine, but on the car will be horrible, fairy liquid might help.....
  16. I would also be interested in this......:thumbleft::camp::lcop::afro::smug:......no not smilies, a 70mm splitter
  17. Have you worked out how your gonna attack this ? Fun will be the last thing you experience, its a long job just for two bushes, good luck mate.
  18. They are "holding" their value as you say, bearing in mind the economic climate i would say thats pretty good, if we have a recovery in the next few years then i can see them creeping up a bit, but i dont think anyone really knows what they are going to be worth in five years time, do i care ? not really.
  19. 1 bar is 15psi, i took them off cleaned them and they are fine now, so panic over.
  20. That sound like the holy grail of doughnuts......... Getting back to the thread, i heard a saying on the interweb some time ago and it went something like this ; "If you are unsure what to do, then toss a coin, not because it settles it for you, but because while the coin is in the air you suddenly realise what you've been hoping for." I do like a good saying.
  21. I like the fact they are rare and no-one knows what it is, the cars you mention are a bit flash and also instantly recognisable, i wonder how many people like those cars because of what other people think about them (like my Sergio Tacchini tracksuit top from 1985) There are so many reasons people buy the cars they do, it often says a lot about them, its also interesting to hear what we think about our cars and how the opinions differ.
