  1. Ah cheers mate, yeah I heard some people burn/melt the bushes out but this has a metal sleeve in it like the rear wishbone bush does! :bad-words:
  2. Looks QUALITY mate! Good effort. Can you please please PLEASE tell me which bolts you used for your engine stand and where to get them? I've asked this lot a couple of times already and no-one knows! Cheers :thumb right:
  3. it's the front horizontal wishbone bolt, 18mm head, approx 3" long. 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfImage018.jpg[/attachment:2lmamao1] Image019.jpg[/attachment:2lmamao1]
  4. Ha ha yeah true. Something made me think that if I had to beef it with en Erwin bolt grabber and a 2ft extension bar just to get the head to move, perhaps a little stud extractor dropped through the hole wouldn't actually do much! Couldn't really tell if i was drilling the bolt out, or making a new hole either which wasn't very helpful.
  5. Subframes hate titanium nitride drill bits. the stud extractor rounded off like it was made of cheese too! Ah well, not sure what to do with it now, doesn't help that the wishbone is still attached by the tiny bit of stud left in!
  6. Ok, i'm going to do the stud extraction from the subframe this avo, wish me luck!
  7. yeah primer can help tons, i didn't use any on mine and it started to blister after a while, my own fault though.
  8. looks awesome. Might be worth seeing if you can seal the bumper paint with something, as it will come off in time. I used it on some trim before and it looks good, but starts coming away after XX many car washes etc. I guess if you're careful it should last :D
  9. CS has his mobile number up on his website doesn't he? Have you tried it?
  10. Cheers Mez! Yeah, the corrado's getting there, just need to fit all these parts! :help:
  11. basically, yeah. it'a blatantly obvious that they all hit the trees still as there's a huge rectangle shape cut out of the branches on every tree through town!
  12. Cool, cheers for the confirmation tonedef. I've been degreasing aaaallll afternoon and now I stink of solvents.... but so much stuff is soooo clean :D tried to get the 256mm carriers off the hubs this avo but those 17mm bolts aren't having any of it. I might have to bolt them all back up to the subframe as they're just turning on the ground at the mo...kinda sucks.
  13. Bolt extractors arrived today. Looks like you have to drill a smallish hole down through the middle of the bolt you're extracting and then use these to bite onto the insides of the drilled hole. I don't think they will bite and chew their own hole by themselves, just don't look strong enough (mine have pointed ends, pic is for reference): Problem I have with these is that the horizontal wishy bolt has seized on the inner edge where the thread is, potentially rendering the thread inside the subframe useless... Am going to start degreasing everything today with my gallon of goodness, plus I will de-rust them when I can find Prodigal's wire brush drill attachment. Coming soon: POR-15 starter kit review, hopefully enough product in it to do the whole cross-member I have!
  14. Oh, it's to stop big branches going through the top glass screen. That would make sense.
  15. £200 a year all in? can't be a bad thing, esp when you're too hungover to drive to campus! Not that I know what hungover feels like... :gag:
  16. Forgot to add my other wagon: The peasant wagon :/
  17. yeah, the drive isn't getting to the wheels. that's what the driveshafts do :salute:
  18. is that paint original or is it resprayed? looks so tidy.
  19. least he keeps the raddo in the garage and the mk3 out on the street!
  20. if you're trying to drive it then YES, it is completely utterly and directly related to you not being able to drive (if that's what you mean by "having any gears")
  21. personally, there will always be people with better corrados / golfs / whatevers than me, I wouldn't be doing it to be the best, or be "scene" or anything as ludicrous (imho) as that. I like the corrado a lot, and I don't want it to meet a premature end... this could be the first car that I actually RENEW insurance on (i.e. keep for more than a year    )
  22. loose connection in the steering column bythe sounds of things. or your jets are possessed by the ghost of OCD and needs to wash your windscreen 15 tmes a trip?
  23. ah ok cool, cheers! I have a few more bags from the scrapper shell if you ever need some again.
  24. I'm in ox, so miles away plus I won't have the £££ anytime soon! That's good that you're hooked up though, must be awesome getting mates rates on stuff like that!
