  1. Very odd about the cable mate, you wouldn't expect them to be different lengths really unless your handbrake mech is different somehow? :? At least we got the callies resealed and working well, that OSR one pretty much fell apart when you wound the piston out!
  2. I ike the way that close-up of the gripper socket just says " W I N " on it. Sums it up nicely I think. [Mr. T] "Tha's right foo', you come out when i TELL you to come out... biatch" GNNNNH, GET SOME NUTS!! [/Mr.T]
  3. That would make a lot of sense, considering that the tracking / wheel alignment is a very precise adjustment :) Got the rack off now, didn't realise the tie rods needed a huge spanner to undo them, so i've left it as is until I can get a *laughs* monkey wrench
  4. Good time to do the engine mounts and the PAS rack rubber bush too. Its easier to leave the PAS rack on the subframe when you drop it off as it has some very strange bolts that need drifting out of the subframe assembly. Yeah I did have to  a little bit when disassembling spare front endage. Just borrowed the balljoint seperator from bro, so I'm hoping the rack will be off the subframe too. The bolts seemed to be splined or something don't they?
  5. Aaaah, I wondered what those were! Cheers, I'll get right on it :D
  6. Hi guys, I'm hoping to refurb my subframe in the next few months and I was wondering whether it would be possible to keep the engine in situ when taking the subframe out? Obviously the front mount would be fine, but the rear and gearbox mounts would come out with the frame. Would it be possible to keep the engine in it's intended position on a crane even though it would have no supports underneath it? Would you recommend taking the gearbox off as it will only be supported by the gearbox bolts which might be placed under too much stress/strain? Don't mind taking the engine out if needs be, but would rather not. Cheers, Jon.
  7. The Big Plum?! why I oughtta... I am so achey today, ah well. Just making a list of all the things I want to do on the Corrado, mainly just get it back to new OEM spec. I was going to put the prices in for each item, but I'm having seconds thoughts!
  8. yeah do it, I have a stack of stuff out back that I only removed from the shell so it won't get cut up, but I think it might get chucked away. I'll check your pics and see if I have any of it. @JMC, oh dear...
  9. ^^^ lol, bro you should be called the PropsMachine cos that's what you run on!
  10. looks like it had a VR in so it might have started bending as the load bearing supports got weaker and weaker.
  11. If this doesn't make it into the KB, I'm gonna kick a pigeon.
  12. I wanna be friends with the Reventon. If you know what I mean.
  13. Washed mine, Bled cazzavr's, and wrestled with ProdigalSon's! I expect update from both you whippersnappers shortly! oh, also worked out I have locking wheel nuts! Hope I have the device for them somewhere... :?
  14. Maybe just my sense of humour, but PMSL   you sick mofo
  15. I might have some of that there rear black trim you're looking for, we stripped EVERYTHING out of that shell before we cut it up! It was a K reg too so would have had black inner panels. Send me some pics of the trims you're looking for and I'll have a rimmage tomorrow :thumb right:
  16. if it's constant it would make me think that the inners aren't correctly attached to the flanges on the gearbox. Have you checked these?
  17. welll.... this is the thing. What is ok on a corrado? It runs! Might be a few degrees out but I don't get pinking or det..... I'm wondering whether it has the wrong rotor arm on it, so might do a ignition system renewal and see if that cures it.
  18. Revved to 6000rpm tonight before refusing to go higher...is my KR a slow learner? Also, does anyone know how to reset the ECU, or would this be pointless?
  19. #It's like Candaaayyy.....owwwwwhhhh# More parts ordered today, basically a whole PAS rebuild kit, ARB to subframe bushes and a gearbox mount. Just gotta get my bolt order on with the VAG and then it's all go. Oh, and source a new cross member!
  20. Gone in 60 quote perchance?! btw, have you still got that silver hammerite? holla @ me.
  21. Are they the guys near me somewhere in Oxford? Chipping Norton I think maybe, they did some work on my Golf 16v last year...
  22. Coolio :D which rear caliper of yours is dodgy, do you know? I wouldn't be surprised if it was the one we found swinging low (#sweet cal-i-perrrrr#) last summer :?
