Can't argue with making a few pound notes. Especially if it marginally helps bank roll the Corrado. The calipers you speak of. Are they Corrado specific, or are these plundered from another model ? For that money, I'm interested.

I'm having a bad enough week as it is, without the tot up. Put it this way, I'm on my second A4 folder.

I don't know why I don't hate this Corrado more than I do!

Sorry to hear your bad news. Has the wishbone bolt sheared, or is it the subframe that's failed ? -
Nice to see in white. My first Corrado was a 2L in white. Take the mirror switch apart and clean the contacts. Heater problem will probably be the thermal fuse: http://wiki.the-corrado.net/fan_speed_thermal_fuse_repair.html Both common faults and easy to sort. There's a gathering number of Corrado owners in the north west now so make sure you come along to the shows/meets.

Picture update, as it's been a while. Replaced the front wing due to the old tin worm. Attended Tatton Park, Harewood house and then met up today at Jodrell bank observatory. (will stick these on shortly). I've discovered a new wax. It's made by a company called Harley and it comes from across the pond in America. It is simply astonishing. It's about £18 and quite honestly it's the best wax I've ever used. I'll let the pictures set the scene.

No different to asking most other manufacturers for parts on a 16 year old car. A line in the sand at some point has to be drawn, based on how many approximate cars are still in existence. It's frustrating but this is business. The parts you mention are only cosmetic and don't physically stop the car from being driven though. It may well be that to some, these cars will shortly be of any serviceable use as average mileage daily drivers. Okay I have a Corrado daily drive, but I went into ownership with my eyes open based on the following: I do all my own servicing and repairs. Mechanical parts car be sourced from other parts of the VW range. I only do 3k a year mileage. Yes there will come a point where the car needs to be replaced, but I don't expect that to be for quite a while.

Was just about to suggest a meeting place and you've beaten me to it. Good show that man Jay. Sounds like a plan. I'm sure I can count Adam in on this also. So that makes: 3 - James 4 - Adam Adam was looking to go for a blast towards the peaks, so if any one wants to, we can do that later in the day. 12 o'clock at the visitor centre it is then. Tres excited.

So why bother ?

Ahhh bless, youthful innocence. Not sure if your innocence is heart warming or worrying though. Let's have some pictures either way.

Dash looks spot on. For me, the only way to trim them, is to avoid the stitch line through the middle. Well done. The window vents look good as well.

Not sure what others have done, but here's how VW decided to supply the Campaign with a black roof lining: Headlining - nylon lightweight covering. Bonded over an OE grey unit. Rubber retaining strip ( as pictured above ) - Sprayed black with satin black spray. Roof control panel - Sprayed satin black OE grey unit. Visor clips and screws - satin black sprayed grey parts. The paint wears off but thats how it was supplied so it's good enough for me. Visors - hand stitched fabric sleeves, over OE grey units. The passenger side visor has the mirror/light inserted. The driver side vanity mirror has been covered over due to the obvious difficulty of trying to modify it. I had to strip part of the roof lining and use spray contact adhesive when I restored the interior. But it's been good as gold since. Just like to mention that I'm not saying that this is the definitive way that you should convert to black interior / roof. More than this how the Karmann trim shop thought it should be one the Campaign. Let me know if you need any pictures as a reference.

The suspension, top mounts, bearings are due for replacement on the 8 valve. I've seen these and wondered if anyone has experience and could recommend them ? http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/category_results.mhtml?category=kwsuspensionkits&car=vwcorrado&manufacturer=kw&sub_category=1 I was basing my choice on the fact the coil overs get such a good review. Looking for a small drop of about 25 to 40 mm. Unless there's something I'm missing within this price range. All comments welcome Kind regards James

Corrado 2.0 16V ABF - Tornado Red (and other parts)
James. replied to t700bes's topic in Cars for Breaking
We've got a new postie, so just wanted to make sure they hadn't been left hidden whilst I was out. Arrived today and very happy. Thanks once again. -
Thanks Judith They had that effect on me also. I remember seeing a "how to" in either yours or Pauls thread. Think I can remember how to do it but would you be a good egg and send me a link if you can find it please. ---------- Post added at 11:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:34 PM ---------- Cheers. Never thought I'd have the word "Epic" set against my efforts. Very kind, thanks. ---------- Post added at 11:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:44 PM ---------- No other way for this old girl. If the finish is half as good as yours, I won't be doing too bad. Thank you.

Cheers Andy. Just given the manifold a second coat (just before the compressor packed up). So I'll have to borrow one from work next week for all the other bits. Really happy with the finish.

This weeks update is brought to you in association with the letters P + C. More importantly, Powder Coating Had a raft of the underside stripped back and powder coated in satin black. All carried out c/o Ian and his team at North west powder coating in Chorley. Belting set of chaps. Affordable, did exactly what I wanted and quick to boot. Going back with the rest of the brakes and other trinkets in a few weeks. Here's the website (can't recommend them enough): http://www.northwestpowdercoating.co.uk Powder coat porn for those who get off on this kind of thing: In the mean time, off to fit some bolts and rubbers.

Afraid that ship has sailed Jake. The passenger strip was a victim of the extreme heat we suffered back in June. It resembled a black tree branch it was that bad. The glue had melted, allowed the strip to pop up and then as the sun set, the strip had cooled and distorted to it's final shape. It's now landfill. Got some good second hand units and painted them up when I had the car polished. They look a treat once again. Best of luck getting that gloop off. It may have you in tears. NB: I cut the side rubber strip off as no amount of resto will make them look good again.
