  1. See this at Tatton park then ! Honestly though, there's about 60 hours before then and the show day... Looks great.
  2. That'll be Adam (big Adam on here) - g60 rec. Should have gone over and had a peek under the hood if you liked the wheels so much. Sure he'll be along in a second to confirm.

    Part help

There's one on my 8v. Sure the bit you want isn't only available as part of the complete clamp ?
  4. How bizare. I've just come back from my local stealer for the same item. Safe to say, I gave it a swerve at fifty dabs. Let us all know if you source anything more pocket friendly.
  5. Any Campaign items in those folders of Corrado joy ?
  6. Pushed on some more this week. Wasn't happy with the rust and the associated lacquer peel on the drivers door, so decided to change it for the second hand unit I had earmarked for fitment next year. Fitment was a journey in scraped knuckles and frustration. But perciveirance won the day and by the end of it I was pretty chuffed. The window scraper is the only part I'm not happy with, as it bent like a curly wurly on the way out. I may surrender the one from the VR6 in the future, but for the time being it will suffice. Whilst I was on a roll with the door, I decided to continue with this ere' panel fitting lark and immerse myself in the front passenger wing. The old one had a right scabby lip on it so I decided to dive straight in and execute a swap. Managed to take a little chunk of underseal from the neighbouring sill, but hey we can deal and live with that. Sunday morning and a long time valeter friend called in to spend the day getting back some of the long lost shine. The film/dist/grime that came off the car was amazing. First he hit it with a deep cut. Then onto a softer compound, followed by Polish and Wax. The results are amazing and he demonstrated just how easy (with a little care) it is to keep the car well polished. The wax he used is called "Harly wax". I'll be buying some very soon, as I don't know much about car cleaning products, but this is top drawer. Went out to the car this morning and there was some serious beading going on. A short drive and all the water was gone. A truly astonishing product. Today the postman bestowed an uprated headlight loom into my clammy grasp (Twas a muggy morning). So without pause for thought, there we were, head under't hood. Baying to see the light. Lastly I decided to install some water channels to the inside edges of the wings. I saw this upgrade a number of years ago in a copy of the "Sprinter". It was pasting down this afternoon and as such I timed my mid morning upgrade to a "T". I used some 1cm foam that's used to fit sinks. Snaffled a couple of rolls of this when my career took me on a spate of kitchen fitting. So that was this week. All ready for Tatton Park on Sunday. Just hope the sun makes an appearance. Slightly apprehensive that my car is in a lower "condition band" than those of the other cars, but hopefully good enough.
  7. Adam (Big Adam on here) thankfully had this when he went to the ring recently. I can't remember who he used, but it seemed affordable. And he got his car back. Which is nice. Perhaps PM him. But report back as I'm in the market for this as well.

    my wheels

Great resto thread. I'll keep popping back for tips when I get round to mine if that's okay. What was the 3M stone chip guard you write about ?
  9. Lower grills (obsolete from VW) do turn up from time to time. Most are cracked and some sellers won't split from the bumper, but they do turn up. Tow eye covers are also obsolete. Metal reinforce bar is also sadly obsolete, but these are non model specific, therefore more readily available. 70mm spoiler seems a happy middle ground. But at a price.
  10. Hi Jon Got the car running, but it has an intermittent ABS issue. I'll be at Tatton but not Awesome (doubled booked that day). Main problem I have is that I destroyed my laptop after scanning last time by cracking the screen. If you were planning on taking a laptop then great. Otherwise I'm going to struggle.
  11. Jenolite came from eBay and the Zinga came from Frost restorations ( they have a website with great products on as well). Really happy with the results, though I did have to use double sided on the gutter strips to hold them down. ---------- Post added at 10:23 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:19 AM ---------- Yes I did and great news. You'll probably find that by speaking to other people in and around where you are, there'll be another job when you finish that one. Word of mouth goes a long way in getting work at the moment.
  12. What with the old boy working again, thought I'd set to work smartening him up a little (whilst the service items I ordered are on the way). Ground away some blemishes on the door/sill/rear wing before they took hold more seriously. Applied jenolite, acid etch primer and will top coat in the morning. Vacumed/dusted/cleaned the interior. Removed oil/grease marks from the carpets and re-aligned the steering wheel for the umpteenth time. Removed the gutter strips and scuttle trim. keyed the surface and applied a generous coating of primer, followed by satin black. Did this on the VR6 and was very happy with the results. Next up is installing the service parts and giving it a damn good machine polish. Phew, it never ends.
  13. Sorry chaps, going to have to bail on this one. What with the running issues I've had, I've only decided to tax it from the beginning of August. I'll pop along in mateys TT and if I don't see you there, I'll see you at Tatton Park.
  14. Is that a French version I don't know about ! Seriously though, can't wait to see your car when the work is complete. When you get the dash trimmed, there's a couple of things to bear in mind: Speaker covers. They may need trimming away at the edges as the leather will reduce the size of their original port. Glovebox handle. Similar to above but the trimmer may skive the leather first to reduce the thickness. If you need any advice on this then drop me a message but by the looks of the trim work you've had done already, you shouldn't need it. All the best
  15. Good tip, though grinding is usually my "last chance" solution. Pullers have saved me on many occasion. A very worthwhile piece of kit ( and not bad money from machine mart ).
  16. I've a saved search on the bay already thanks. Just thought it prudent to put the feelers out on here also. Still needed.
  17. Just a little update before it hits the road at the end of the month. Got the alternator fitted after much swearing and cussing and now it works well and doesn't make a horrible grinding noise. That wasn't before I had a debarcle with the electrics. Replaced the ECU relay, smashed a laptop, replaced a coil pack and got the old thing running again. ABS light sticks on now though... boo Think I'll treat it to a new set of brakes as there's 25% off service parts and free postage at Eurocarparts till the end of the month.
  18. About £26 from the dealer. Mine even had one on the shelf when I enquired last week. Best of luck.
  19. Good work Trev. Do you think this fix could be transferred across to the 8v ADY engine management ?
  20. Quick reminder that there's 25% off servicing parts AND free postage till the end of July ! Just bought a coil pack online, as it's not worth getting in the car and driving there with deals like that.
  21. A miss-guided sense of loyalty ! Smashing the laptop just sealed the deal on a bad week. May I add to the list: 1 x Coilpack 1 x ECU relay Pie and a Pint Hopefully the (Corrado) world will be a better place in a couple of days.
  22. The way I feel right now... Petrol and matches.
  23. Scan help needed two minutes from jct 26 of the M6 (Wigan/Skelmersdale) 16pin obd2. Been told it has to be a genuine cable as the 8v can be picky. All help appreciated.
  24. Must be genuine, working and posted to Lancashire (Unless local). Thanks, James.
