  1. That'll do nicely. Let me know if there's any damage and if not, I'll whizz some pound notes over your way. Drop an image my way if there's anything of significance. An unusual request, but could you let me have the part number of the spoiler control unit ( the cig packet sized black box under the dash please ). I'll have this if it's the one I want.
  2. 50mm spoiler and metal support strip with bolts. How much delivered to Lancashire ? Will take it if it's crack/damage free.
  3. I'd like to add some to the 8v. I've seen the raft listed on ebay but am unsure of what they'll fit like. Anybody have experience/comments of aftermarket ones ? If so, which are the best ?
  4. Saw this advertised a while back. Glad it's found a home, especially with that mileage. My first rado was a White 2.0 16v so always nice to see. Pictures please.
  5. Take hold of the rear part of the roof strip. Lift up and pull towards you. They're only clipped in at the front and rear, the main strip is usually stuck down with double sided.
  6. A proper man task. Metal, sparks and sweat. Too much to ask for a Corrado to at least give you a week off.
  7. Sounds like you've been told right. Same symptoms as mine.
  8. Was at the local dealer and one of the sales guys came over asking all about it. He was beaming away like an excited child.
  9. Found a site with all the images from when we arrived. Here's me and the family. Have a trawl round for you and yours. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=234035799974387&set=a.234019743309326.64574.149874618390506&type=1&pid=751916&id=149874618390506
  10. The 8v I bought off your brother had a grill with slats filled in.
  11. Thanks for the positive reply Andy. Always great to hear from someone with waves of enthusiasm. Regarding parts. If the next twelve months is going to be like the last twelve (in regard to parts becoming obsolete), you're going to be a very busy individual indeed. My main concern surrounding obsolete parts is mechanical items. Trim doesn't stop the car from running. But radiators, sensors etc do. Which then ties in with numbers. As more and more cars are removed from service, there's less need for parts support. I don't plan to sell the VR6 any time soon. But there is always a niggle in the back of my mind surrounding parts availability in the years to come. I'm just glad that the conversation is being had now, instead of ten years from now. I look forward to seeing what you can bring to the table. All the very best, James
  12. What success rate do you have with this ? And what do you mean by taking the challenge on ourselves ?
  13. Thanks for the offer Paul. Put my little boy in bed and ended up missing the end of the auction, so no springs for me. On the plus side of things, received my window sticker this morning... Every cloud etc etc... ---------- Post added at 10:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:17 PM ---------- Ordered mine last Thursday and received them on Monday, so maybe a phone call is in order. Someone from the club may have a contact. Get them to leave them on the gate, so on and so forth.
  14. Anybody coming from Sheffield willing to collect something for me (a set of springs) and bring them to the show ? (the eBay seller won't post). Your kindness shall be rewarded.
  15. Thanks for the info Paul. We'll be coming in a different route so will have to pick up the convoy closer to the park, so what time will you be arriving at the show ? Also, passes. Is that something that gets sent out as per Tatton park or do we mention our name on the gate ?
  16. A very enjoyable day (after a delayed start), family friendly, great conversations and a very good standard of VW's. The weather was typically English, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
  17. Ask away. Trimmed over the entire surface of the dashboard (as it had been before). The small holes are ventilation holes and not just cosmetic. So when mine was trimmed, they were bonded down and then opened up with a sharp. Hope that helps
  18. I do hope so. I've trawled a lot of websites trying to find similar material but all in vain. Most manufacturers opt for the bonnet foam pad rather than stick on material. The ten pence does look rather unusual by modern standards but if memory serves me well, it was still legal tender into the early nineties ( about 92/93 ). Couple of weeks and you'll have cracked it I say !
  19. I know where you're coming from on this one. Mine came from Scotts of Sloane square, with dealer fit number plate surrounds. They've faded badly over the years but am due to get some replacements made when needed. Another fortunate thing is that the original dealer sticker is also in the boot. I trawled google images and the web for days, trying to get some pictures of original reg plates with dealer info on them. Might be worth popping onto the golf forums ( early 90's, mk2/3 etc ). I'm sure if there's a group of fanatically obsessed VW enthusiasts that covet such items, then you're going to find them there. Best of luck with the search and make sure you let us know how you get on.
  20. Driving the Corrado vs Beer festival.. Mmmm a tough one.
