Breaking Black non sunroof 1995 Corrado L041 parts pag 1
James. replied to voo51's topic in Cars for Breaking
Suspension condition, make and price (delivered). Thanks, James -
Nothing I like better than going out for a pootle with Oscar riding shotgun. We both get a few hours together, in a car we both enjoy. He's learning well.

Speed bump/Power bulge ?

Hi Andy Not being one to see a man suffer, I've taken a set off mine this afternoon. I'm going to vac form them tomorrow (using the originals as the moulds). Hopefully we may see some positive results. Leave it with me and I'll post up the results tomorrow. All the best, James

That exhaust cracks me up. It reminds Me of spinal tap, "because it's got one more, it's one louder". The bonnet latches and hamerite green manifold he can keep though.

Saw that. Would need a thorough check over because of the damage. But seems honest enough.

NEC Classic car show November 11th ,12th 13th .....
James. replied to northG60's topic in Event Announcements & Discussion
As above. Once again a great show as always. A truly superb level of cars presented. And as always a friendly chat/smile over at the Corrado stand. The laminated display was an excellent idea. Well done to all involved. Met Sir Stirling Moss as well... ...which was nice. -

For all those attending. You can get a discount for Saturday and Sunday (not Friday). Type in CLUB11 on checkout (CLUBF11 for family tickets). Instead of £17.50, you'll get them for £15.50 each. Just paid for mine and it worked a treat. (Found this info on the Jensen owners club site) -
Yeah, I was passing through Appley bridge the other day as well. Fnar fnar

You'd never guess... What's up with the alt ? regulator ? Ooooh things. We like things and stuff round ere !

Behind the sherry scenes, there's some changes going on. Rolling stock, internal refinement etc. Don't want to reveal too much, but the old boy returned a quite astounding 46 mpg on an automotive procurement trip to Crewe this evening. Who needs Bluemotion with those numbers (okay maybe round town then !).

On a deleted scene from Alan Partridge. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=GB#/watch?v=ITnpeJhM_7o 2:16 in, on the right side of the screen, parked up. Sad I know...

Yes. There should be two. Obsolete though.

Thanks Ben. I agree. It transforms the look of it no end. Still unsure wether to get some 16" wheels or keep as is ? Think I'll drive it for a few weeks and see how I feel at the end of November.

Looking good Eric. I can almost hear the Human league and smell the Brut from my front room.

Most people wouldn't think twice about flicking a match at the car and walking away. But I nod in your general direction sir. A true car enthusiast you are.

What with looking for some replacement wheels. I've been (forgive me father) spending time on Edition38. Now I'm not going to be plastering the bonnet with stickers or pouring acid over the roof. But something may have come out of it. And that something is the idea of a gentle lowering procedure. In an ideal world I'd push the boat out and get an all bells and whistles suspension set up. But we don't live in an ideal world, so therefore plumped for something on a lower rung of the ladder. On my first 2.0 corrado (back in't day) I used some lowering springs to attain a higher aesthetic. And was pleased with the ride to boot ! Fast forward eight years and here we are. Working on the same model of car, the same job, in the same place, under the same slate grey sky. I chose PI springs (40mm drop) combined with the existing Boge/Sachs gas standard shocks. The lower front bolts were, ahem, shall we say... challenging. The rears were straight forward enough though. When I first stepped back to light my pipe and admire my handy work, the car seemed to offer up the same ride height. A quick drive to shake down any potential fitting issues and it was time for indoors to a warmer climate and tea. Sunday morning brought a dry day and also a small smile as the springs had settled over night. Today, my son and I had a short drive over to Southport. The car performed wonderfully well. The handling is still sharp, and the ride is still firm without being harsh. If anything the ride on a good condition road is slightly softer. Speed bumps were a small issue, but we can live with that. The 50mm spoiler I have in reserve will also help. Here's a picture for reference.

Surprised they even dried at all at the moment. They do look really good though. It makes a massive difference on light carpets and worth the effort.
-
Sorry but they are obsolete. I wanted some a few weeks back. Let us know if you find any.

Don't see many sherrys being broken. I dropped on with my spares but am yet to see another breaker in the same colour (let alone within driving distance). Colour wise it's totally different to blackberry. Mines had loads of paint in it's life. The bonnet's a different shade to the wings, and the roof's a different shade again. Pearl can be a beeeatcchh to match though. Ideally mine needs a full hit with the paint gun. But when a paint job is twice the value of the car, I'll stick to swapping panels and touching up with this one.

Saw that one and thought it looked good (or at least, as good as it can look on a computer screen). You sure that's blackberry though (LK4Z) ? Looks just like the colour of my 8valve (LC2U), Sherry pearl. Might be worth a check of the boot sticker. Either way, nice car.

I can thoroughly recommend them. The craftsmen they have working there are first class. If I was to critique them slightly, it would be that they are always booked solid and as such some of the jobs can drag on a little. But to look at it another way, If they are always busy, then they are always in demand ! They usually have a stand at the NEC classic car show. Or why not give them a ring and call across to see their work.

Could be the mechanism is worn/dirty and/or a tired motor. I'd personally not use the sunroof until fixed. If the sliders are clogged up, they can put extra strain on the cables, until one of them snaps. It's a fiddly, but not impossible job. Take all the sunroof unit out. Clean/degrease it all. Put back together with a light lube. If it's still slow then replace the motor. It's probably overdue a strip down/clean by now anyway. You can manually close the sunroof on some motors. Check the back of the motor for an allen key hole. Rotating that should see it close.

Are the roof bars genuine VW ? Are they complete ? If so, any chance of a couple of images ? Thanks in advance, James

Some great pictures there Ben. Shot with the cleaning cloths hanging out to dry is a familiar sight round this way. I really like those TT wheels though. They're really smart, in an OE kind of way. But what I'm most interested in, is the green Robin parked across the road !
