Depends on what you're thinking ! I stripped the car down to a shell and then went to work haggling. Typical that the sun didn't shine today so couldn't get a full workout from the spray job. Hopefully the Iclandic volcano won't send us spiralling into an ice age and we get some more sunny days !

Awesome results. Football pitch effect on the carpets as well. Nice ! Good to see the under carpet padding seems to have survived.
-
Just need to get the screen fitted tomorrow or Wednesday. Home and in the garage for the weekend. Hoo-bloody-rah ! Bit the bullet and bought a new sunroof seal also.
-
When I bought my car, it came with period magazines with reviews. I'd upload them if there was somewhere to put them.

Mines a 92 VR6 and it came with Two keys. One with a light and one std key. There should be a key "number" tab on the second key for reference.

They're like bleedin Man U fans... You're never further than ten feet from one ! Excuse the banter ! Looks like you've dropped on there bud. Always good to see another Corrado go to an enthusiast.

Does that mean I could replace the spoiler "little black box" on my VR with 93 16v one and have it raise at 45mph ?

Many thanks to: Laazboy and dbug Prompt payment and big thumbs up as buyers Nice work, keep it up !

According to the 92 Corrado specification and equipment brochure the VR6 came as standard with a Sony XR5451 radio/cassette stereo. I'm on the lookout for a Sony XR-U661RDS head unit (optional equipment). If you see one, please get in touch.

That would be me then ! We had just been to the Eagle and child for lunch. Spotted your Corrado from the front of the pub so I made the Mrs drive down Green lane so I could get a good look. Liked the wheels in the same colour as the car. Fingers crossed I'll be in mine next time. Nice one! My "two lads" comment is not a reflection on your Mrs - it all just happened so fast! That's okay. My little boy was in the back of the car so I'll let you have that one !

My details: 32 - Garaged - 3k miles per year - Classic policy so NCB is not required (though I have 11 years on another car) - Agreed value - Standard car - Fully comp = £200 - Performance direct 0844 573 3507 (http://www.performancedirect.co.uk) Insurer is Red Star equity. My other car is with Adrian Flux and they couldn't get anywhere near P/D's quote. I've dealt with these many times over the last dozen or so years and have had no issues whith them what so ever. I even turned my mum on to them and she halved her insurance. Should be on commission really...

Will have a clearer picture (completion date wise) tomorrow as it's tomorrow the bodywork "should" be finished. It's dragging on a bit now, but to be honest I don't mind so long as the result is good. Just need to build it back up then.

They're called "splash shield protectors" and are surprisingly hard to come by second hand, as over time they get taken off and chucked. I'd stick hold of them to be honest, as should you need them in the future VAG will lighten your wallet to the tune of £38 each!

Doubt it's the seal on its own but it may be contributing overall. The sunroof has a gutter underneath, with four overflow pipes. One of these may have become blocked or detached so would be worth checking. Think the seals are about £45 from VW

Any decent classic interior specialist should be able to help. I had a look into a bespoke carpet as mine was really dirty and neglected. They can be £300+ depending what materials are used. I had a look into this because as you can imagine I wouldn't expect VAG to carry interior spares for mine. In the end I took it out and gave it thorough degrease/clean and detail with a view to replace if it was too bad. I used a light degreasant for the tar spots and shampoo/conditioner for the carpet. Rinsed through with clean water and left to dry naturally. I was astonished at the results.

I was speaking to a car trimmer a while back and he said that the Corrado subframes for Recaros are really shallow in comparison to Recaros fitted to other cars (Mk2 golf and other VWs etc). You'ld also have to make sure the mounting holes are in the same place as well. Might be worth a try if you've got the time and confidence to take it on. Best to find out the height of the subframes and the measurements for the mounting bolts on the Fiestas Recaros before you shell out on any though. Hopefully someone on here will have details on this transplant. If not, I've got a set of Recaros currently out of the car that I don't mind measuring up if it helps I'd be keen to know whether this works Keep us up to speed.

I'd have a go at changing the connector. Shouldn't be too problematic to "make it fit".

Oreet I am all over those wheels. Paint looks like glass froom here. I doff my cap Sir.
-
Bad luck there. A good repair shop should be able to tap most of that out. The front inner lining will drop out giving them access to the back of the damaged panel. I can't tell from the photo but so long as the paint isn't broken you may get away with it. The downside is the cars black and shows most marks up. Have a search around for local garages that work on older cars and you may be pleasantly surprised. Best of luck

I'm with Performance direct so may be worth a call (0844 573 3507). When I was 29 the quotes I was getting were in the late 500 to early 600 mark so maybe that's about right for what is still a group 18/19 car and considered "nickable" by modern standards ? NB: HIC are a sister company to Adrian Flux so that's probably why they won't quote against each other. Personally I'd bite the bullet, run the Vr for 12 months then switch the policy to a classic policy and transfer the NCB on to the 16v. Your decision at the end of the day though.

Good on you Jim. Welcome to the VR6 house of fun.
