Thanks for the upbeat messages peeps. Though could have done without hearing about the three fitting attempts  The Corrados raison d'etre was to be ready (interior and bodywork) for Tatton Park. That was way back in October 2009 when I started with the work. Now it looks like that may not even happen at this rate. I desperately want to put the dashboard back in but am resisting until the windscreen is fitted. The last thing I want to do is for something unfortunate to happen to the dashboard (again) after all the faffing about that's gone on. Hopefully the sun will shine and I can enjoy my car complete once again. You making the short journey to Tatton Park James ?

A weird week of emotions thus far. Good news: Dash board main console and trim tunnel is finished and looks awesome. Just waiting for the glovebox, gear knob and handbrake handle. Bad news: Washed the car in anticipation of the new dash's arrival. Found the windscreen to be leaking. Devestated is the only word to use. Rang Autowindscreens, who to be fair with the Liverpool branch have been very helpful after all the trouble I had with the Warrington branch closing. Two days later they came to mend it. Got home and found it still leaking :epicfail: . Rang them today and now it's a window back out job 😔. Have to wait for them to order new trim etc. I was annoyed as we had planned to take the car to Abersoch for a long weekend ! Back to the good: Here's some images of Paul and Dave finishing off the dash (excuse the images as they were taken on my prehistoric mobile). I'll take some more once it's all built up and back in.

Dark blue (Aqua ?) standard VR6 driving slowly (it was Wakestock and choc full of the great unwashed) through Pwhelli on Saturday at about 3pm. M579 ??? Didn't wave as I was in the passenger side of the Mrs' car. That's the fourth one i've spotted in the area.
-
Yeah I spotted that when reviving my road fund licence. I feel your pain, though I had the luxury of being able to wait a few days.

Sweet Jesus. Talk about quick on the buzzer. Nice one supercharged, oh oracle of knowledge.

Didn't want to jump into jackvines' paint code thread so decide to start my own. looking at the sticker in my boot, it lists the paint code as "SK99". I know that the official paint code is LC5P but what's this "SK99" business ? Anybody clued up in the dark art of VW coding ??? NB: Checked the service book but it's all written in pencil.
-
Not as good as there being 22 Dusty mauve Corrados ! Perhaps it's time to have a "select a paintcode" drop box ?

Nice to meet you James. Hope you get the slam panel fixed up soon enough. I doff my cap at your shiny paint work though. Come say hello at Tatton park (VWNW), If the weather's anything like it's been recently, the car will be locked up and I'll be sat under the trees sheltering my Anglo saxon ass from the suns thermal gaze.

Home to the world famous "Paperweight centre" no less.

Bear in mind that if you are going to change the module that the VR6 module is different to the 16V/8V/G60 ones. I believe that they will fit, but that the spoiler goes up at a lower speed. Not a bad thing in my opinion.
-
Sounds like a faulty spoiler control module (it's a black box about the size of a cigarette packet). It's inside the dash, next to the manual spoiler switch. I'd be trying that first.

When you say removed it. Do you mean the complete sunroof ? Sounds like the best solution would be to remove the complete unit. Remove the motor from the sunroof and ensure it's at the closed position. Ensure all the linkage is pushed forward at the closed position and put it all back in. Sounds like a massive undertaking but should only take a couple of hours end to end.

woo hoo yeah it was me :) i love bein spotted its awesome I've been driving mine through Wigan at about quarter past eight every morning for the past week (trying to shake out any niggles). Your turn to spot me now !

i knew that only certain colours were used on campaign models but only six in this colour?!? where did you find it ? Just the one colour used on the Campaigns - LC5P - Dusty mauve pearl effect. Dropped on it via a chap on here. I've photoshop'd the image a little by adjusting the colour balance of the sky and the car. The car always comes out either grey, blue or black in photos so I thought it only right that I perform a little corrective medicine.
-
If no one chips in, let me have a picture of the connectors and where they are (I'm a bit naive with air con) and I'll have a look at mine as a reference.
-
Not really. I took the pictures quickly whilst they were batting towards the clubhouse. I promptly moved the car soon after to avoid feeling stoopid incase the corky ventured into the slips at great velocity.

Taken yesterday whilst watching a couple of overs at the cricket:

Went for a short drive and watched a few overs at the cricket. Decided to break out the camera as the weather was pleasant (please excuse the lack of washer jets and side stripes. Decided to leave them off until the paintwork has had a final polish).

Kumho KU31 205 50 15 Had these fitted for nearly a week and am really impressed with them. the grip is awesome and the turn in is impressive. £185 for four delivered from Camskill. Thanks to all those that suggested these and will add a further review in a couple of months once they've scrubbed off and been used a little more in the wet.

Cheers. Never been one for shows but usually make the short journey to VW North West at Tatton Park. Not sure if it's ready to go on show though. It's clean, but maybe not show worthy yet. I'll try and clean the engine bay a little before I make any decisions. What are the good shows for clean standard cars ? (Not too keen on modded shows)

Or could you tell me where this might be?, as i have read about this fix but have yet to see the 'thermal fuse' :D Oh and your corrado is very very nice mate :notworthy: :notworthy:  I only thought of doing this when I'd put it all back together (same with the sunroof repair which I'm chuffed with). Not sure if all Corrado rear spoiler motors are the same but I removed the internals of the motor from its cylindrical housing. Cut off the green fuse (there's only one about the size of a five pence) and bridged it with a piece of insulated wire. I've been driving the car for the past couple of days and it's worked a treat (so far). Best to just to buy another motor if you're unsure though !

Thanks for the kind words. Haven't bought the suspension yet as that's on the Winter 2010 schedule of jobs (had to draw a line in the sand or else summer would have come and gone without it being driven). So far I'm looking at the sport suspension package from KW. I emailed KW a while ago and to summarise they said that they were similar in build and comfort as the entry level set of coilies but without the ride height adjustment. Downside is they're pink :camp: (Something else to be sent to the powder coaters in the off season) Just looking for a slight drop so as to not to detract from the cars overall original appearance and comfort too much. Maybe there's a suspension package that's better than this for similar money (£400) ? Any suggestions are welcome.

Cheers for the moral support. Was intending to take some pictures when I got home tonight. Decided to take an extended detour as it was such a nice night. As there's no stereo fitted I had my own six pot sound track and my god, after not driving it for nearly eight months and only taxing it last night, sweet lord does it sound and feel amazing. An hour and a half after leaving work (a normal 30 minute journey) and a Ayrton Senna's worth of petty later, I was carried into the house on waves of euphoria, grinning like a Cheshire moggy. As I said to Dad before when I saw him. This car is the best thing I have ever bought !!! :D It - is - Fu :censored: ing - epic !

Ahh the picture perfect backdrop of Wigans industrial past ! The photos look real good (like something from a magazine). The first and third pictures made me laugh. It looks like you've replaced the aerial on your car with a giant cigar  You've given me the itch to now break out the camera and get some shots off this weekend.

This past week in Corrado world has been a productive one: Removed the thermal fuse from the spoiler motor and bridged it with wire so it goes up and down all the way without cutting out. Took the car for an MOT and it passed with only a few advisories. Carefully extracted the sunroof and took it all apart. Stripped the runners and parts from their heavily greased and gritty coats with petrol then washed in hot soapy water. Re-assembled via a light lubrication and the sunroof now works a treat. Whilst on a roll with the sunroof I adjusetd the door pins and door gaps. Tyres arrived from Camskills for them to be fitted to my brand new old stock Monte Carlos this week. New mirror lenses arrived. New bolts for the slam panel / front wings and various new rubbers. Received a new Air con switch (From BMW E30 !). Swapped internal parts from one to another and now have cold air just in time for summer. Resprayed all the roof lining plastic parts black as some of the factory paint had worn off. I'll bung a picture on this week when the wheels are on.
