Mine had gone past the point of being able to treat an add color with any products...i`ve tried everything..!!! Trimmed and sanded the rubber edge, but only trimmed a mm just to tidy the line up really... this was the first stage before shelling out £120 for new ones and to be honest its well worth ten pounds in paint and an hour of your time..[/quote:p3xhrvnb] From the initial images I have to agree. The finish looks really good. Did you manage to source a battery?

In a breath... A Jensen FF ------------- I know they're regarded as naff to drive and didn't get the engine they were meant too... But I'd still have one:

As per title. Standard stereo set up. Do I buy an original VW one or do I buy a brand. Need to be able to buy it on or before Saturday. Prices ??? NB: Looked in the search and found only threads for batteries used with big stereo set ups or 16v variant.

That's exactly what mine does. Mines been on going for nearly three months and still not fixed. Rang them (again) for the umpteenth time and was promised a call back from the manager within the hour. No surprise to say I didn't receive a call. I am really frustrated by this issue and am billing them for new underlay. By the way. I'm talking about Autowindscreens Hope you get your issues resolved quickly and leak/whistle free.

As much as I want to keep my car as OE and in fine fettle as possible. I refuse to be bent over and given six of the financial best by the VAG parts department. This part is on my radar to sort out in a similar way. Good to see it came out so well. What have the small rubber seals come out like (or have you removed them) ? Someone suggested to me wiping over the rubbers with a small amount of black silicone to "refresh" their look. Might give it a whirl.

This week brought a new OE radiator which is all silver and shiny. I've taken the fan housing off and ground out the rust then cleaned/repainted etc. Flushed out the old coolant. It wouldn't be me if I posted without a new scratch. The same door as was damaged a couple of weeks back (remind me why I spent all that money repainting her) whilst opening the door and catching it on the removed bumper. :brickwall: Back together for the weekend though. Calming down by having an epic music listening session (ELP, King crimson, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Tangerine dream) and a cup of earl grey.

Used Values - has the bubble finally burst?
James. replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
Perhaps there aren't enough Corrados "seen" on the roads anymore. Because they're not in the shop window so to speak they will continue to get overlooked. Then a potential owner sees one and thinks I'll have a go at that. Allows their heart to rule their head and then sells it on in six months time as it's nearly bankrupt him/her and sells it on as a "project". I remember the last Corrado I owned was sold to its new owner. He knocked me down on the couple of niggles that needed rectifying. And I mean small niggles. Two years later I saw the car for sale at a show with new wheels and other bolt on goodies. I felt a fondness for that car and questioned wether I should I buy it back, until I noticed that the "small niggles" hadn't been corrected and when I asked where the service bumpf was (2" thick file / all old MOTs / FSH / First aid kit etc when I passed ownership). I was told i"it's somewhere in the shed" I'm sure the lad was thrilled when he bought it (as was i) but that's the screw. It cost me a lot of money to run it as an everyday car and as is the way so often, new owners do not factor in the "what ifs". And as a result have to reset to default with "something more practical or economical". Fortunatly I don't have to justify my purchase to anyone as it's all paid for from my own savings. And ever there was a time if I had to sell it to help the family then I would in a breath. But until that time I intend to enjoy it sparingly and learn from it. Has the bubble burst ? A hard question to answer. But based on the the standard of Corrados at Tatton Park last week, more like the gap between good and bad is widening. -
Not very portable but thoroughly useful and informative. I could keep him in the boot and just re-direct the sunroof gutter water for him to live on.

After this weekends debarcle at Tatton and nearly being stranded if it wasn't for Andy (C5 OEM) and his jump leads, I've decided to invest into a small kit of spares/consumables that I keep neatly in the boot for when such times (hopefully don't) arise. I've pinned down the following: 1, First aid kit (already fitted) 2, Jump leads 3, Bottle of water (5 litre ) 4, Zip ties and jubilee clips (about half a dozen of each) 5, Bottle of oil (1.5L) 6, Loose change (about a tenner in loose coins) 7, Waterpump pliers 8, Tow rope I want to keep it as compact as possible so if anyone can make suggestions. Or if there is something I have overlooked then please raise your hand.

Green Corrado spotted on old pepper lane, Standish at about 3:45. I think the reg was G60 RAD but as my eyesight is shocking, I won't be putting money on it. Looked clean and standard :D

Thanks for the info, i'll probably go with them - seen your campaign and it looks quality! Hopefully the cost of sending it to them and vice versa won't be too steep. If you don't mind me asking how much do you reckon the rear bench would cost me considering you had a full trim? Nick They have a collection and delivery service should you need it. It will be cheaper if you retain the middle bolster but i'd get it trimmed so it doesn't look out of place. They should be able to match the leather pretty damn close. Best to ring Stuart and have a chat. I won't see them for a couple of weeks, when I collect some other bits if you're willing to wait ?

If your looking for a trimmer then give Stuart at Ashley James auto trim a ring. They've just done my dash and made an absolute peach of the work. 01942 816612. The team he has there is first class. They're based near Wigan but have a collection and delivery service. You're right what you say about the old V new leather thing though and I'd personally reccomend having the complete bench re-done. It looks like either the seat has been repaired (badly) before or it has been soaked. It certainly wouldn't have come from the factory like that. Send them a small sample from the back of a seat and they'll match it. They're prices are very competitive. The quality is first class and as a result, there is a lead time of usually six weeks. Oh and mention James suggested them. :D

Grimmy2101 Top seller. Sourced me some oddball/scarce parts. Did me a "deal" on the price and delivered them in a couple of days. Nuff respect sir (doffs cap in general direction)

Corrado - Check VR6 Storm (In green/cream) - Check BBS RS301's - Check Job done - light your pipe, kick back and enjoy the spoils of a job well done.

If only that were the truth  not even started on the underneath/engine bay etc

PM me your address and I'll send you a sample with all the info I know to save this thread going off topic.

You're not wrong. If you've ever seen the cover of the film "Platoon", well that's what I would have looked like to an onlooker seconds after inspecting the damage. I won't repeat what I said but I had to say three hail Marys whilst standing in the naughty corner for the next few days..

Thanks but you're not helping my nerves. I'm getting really jittery about attending my first show with a car on display. All the positive comments make me feel like the Corrado is far from show worthy ! This weeks update again brings a mixed bag of emotional delights to the table. Sunday: Completed the install of the dash (with only a handful of small jobs to finish). I've enclosed an image for your viewing delights: new dash installed. Monday: Backed out of the garage half asleep... and into dads car. The Corrado is now sporting a less than fetching, six inch crease with light scratch detail at the bottom of the front door. Dads car suffered a broken indicator but mine took the worst. I've spoken to the body shop and they think they can get the worst of it out but it's going to need some paint. So i've decided to leave the side strips off until it's finished. To top it off, I've scratched the new set of "Monte Carlos" I recently bought as well. No images - too upset to see it again. Big glass of red this evening methinks ! And perhaps tomorrow as well.

Afraid I can't take credit for the Diavia air-con. It must have been fitted by the dealership (Scotts of Sloane Square). I do agree that it ticks all the right equipment boxes though. Hi James, its another James here!.....I havent been on for ages but I havce just picked up your story, well done and good to see another Campaign being returned to its former glory. I'm on the brink of sorting mine out so may well bend your ear, Im especially interested in hearing how and where you sourced the leather and how well the paint worked out ans I need to carry out both. Regards JP Ask away. The new paint is having a last polish the day before Tatton Park. Leather will all be complete by then also. Colour of the new leather is damn close. It's not exact, but it's close enough for me. The only alternative was spending nearly a thousand pounds on a custom hide or painting the leather. Neither of which I was prepared to do.

Crumbs... Would you Adam and Eve it. I spoke to the only other Corrado owner I know of in my area a couple of weeks back and his name is James as well !!!
-
Not as good as there being 22 Dusty mauve Corrados ! Perhaps it's time to have a "select a paintcode" drop box ? I just spied that there are now 23 Dusty mauve corrados?!!!! I thought mine was tucked away in the garage, I dont think its been out breeding!!!!! :confused4: Speaking of being tucked away in a garage. Do you make it to any (or plan to make it to any) shows ? Be cool to see another Campaign and see what's different to mine.

Red - M215 ??? - 3:50pm today (Sat 24th) M6 (Near the Lancaster turn off heading south) Seeing it reminded me how much they look great in red.

Looks quite good with blue wheels. Excuse the quality as I did it quickly before bed.
