Really want a Corrado - VR6 , G60 or 16V?
MonkeyVR6 replied to Ricardo da force's topic in General Car Chat
Jesus. Can you really buy a decent VR6 for £2-3k these days? I know the price of these cars has dipped, but thats crazy. -
Anyone got one of these for sale? I need one asap.
-
Anyone got more info on this? My Corrado is doing the same thing at the moment!
-
Finally got a heads up from DemonTweeks that my Weitec Hicon GTN, Momo Team steering wheel and polyflex bushes got posted this morning (ordered 17 Aug!). I'll do a whole build thead thing as I'm painting the calipers too.
-
God! I've been living 30minutes from Osnabruck for years now and I never knew there was a muesum there! To be honest, since HM Forces closed Robert Barracks (and the other ones) there ain't a great deal there.

Institute of Advanced Motorists....anyone a member?
MonkeyVR6 replied to JMC's topic in General Car Chat
I've also looked into this course, some of my colleagues have done it and said it was really worthwhile. http://www.rospa.com/drivertraining/adv ... andriding/ -
Anyone on here a member? Any experiences good, or bad? I'm thinking of doing the course, among others available to me, to add to my driving skills: http://www.iam.org.uk/the_advanced_prog ... rlife.html Does anyone know if they do there courses over in N.Ireland?

Less than £50 as I recall, I bought about £600+ in all, including Momo steering wheel and Weitec GTN suspension kit. I've also been recommended Audi TT bushes for the rear of the FRONT wishbones on my VR6. I've been PM'd the part number by a dude on here, so I'll fwd it to you too.
-
I've just bought the polyflex bushes from DemonTweeks, they're on their way to me now...once they (and new new Weitec suspension) is fitted, I'll let you know.
-
Cheers dude, found the little bastards on eBay, new. Saves me going down to my local VAG dealership and explaining, in my best German, that I want the set of Audi TT rear bushes, for the front wishbone for my Corrado VR6. Its complicated enough ordering parts as it is!
-
Some good knowledge there. Anyone know what year/type of Audi TT front wishbone bushes I need to order for my 95 VR6? I'm replacing the whole standard suspension with Weitec Hicon GTN stuff.
-
SOP's to put Toyo's on my Corrado. The newer R's even seem to last a bit longer than the S's too. :salute:
-
The standard spark plugs at VW (or GSF/Halfords etc etc) are more than fine. Also, for HT leads I would normally go for VW, but they were well over €100 last time I checked. I run DubPower HT leads now and they seem well made and suit the car just fine.

bump.
-
You got the part numbers for them mate? I'm changing the whole of my suspension too.
-
As well as the rear beam bushes, are there any others worth changing while I'm changing the entire suspension? Like anti-roll bushes?
-
I've pretty much decided on the Momo Team (from either DemonTweeks or Venom), at a 300mm size. Anyone had any dramas with going down to a smaller wheel or fitting an aftermarket steering wheel in the first place?
-
I'd be careful with people who claim to be SF, especially over the internet. There are chaps that claim all kinds of things, just for being attached to SF units in support roles or regular teeth arm units. I'm not saying your old mate is a liar - but the vast majority of people who claim to be SF - are in fact...not.

I've read about 4/5 post now about how Powerflex rear beam bushes are NOT the thing do. However, no-one has actually said why bar a limp statement about passive rear steering. Will fitting Powerflex really make that much difference, or are people just guessing? I've had some real fucking nightmare jobs with this damn car, always expensive. So surely fitting bushes that are easy to fit and will last longer than the originals would be beneficial?
-
The front top mounts are new and the wheel bearings are new all round, pretty sure the ball joints on the front are less than a year old too. Whats the difference between normal rear beam bushes and R32 ones? Do you stock them?
-
Well, after a bit more reading I've sent e-mails to G-Werks and Demon Tweeks asking for quotes on: Weitec Hircon GTN Powerflex Rear beam bushes (anyone had any experiences with these?!) Aftermarket steering wheel

Osnabruck. Where abouts? I live about 20-30mins away from there.
-
That green VR6 at the Wolfburg museum surprised me as it is nowhere near 'mint' condition
-
But can you still get them? I doubt the dealership still sell them, I gave up trying to explain to a German behind the counter I wanted a new steering wheel... That suede Sparco one is pretty pimp if you ask me, gotta be fairly simple to fit too. Just one bolt and re-connect the horn?
