  1. Guys, in a fit of rage, I've managed to break my heater controls on my late-spec Corrado...its -5 here at the moment. :censored: How can I replace these? Is it a simple case of prying off the panel with a flat headed screwdriver? Do I have to get a replacement of eGay, or is there a non-megabucks alternative? Cheers. :(
  2. Anyone know if all the Bosch Mk3 Golf motors sold on eBay will fit a 1995 Corrado?
  3. Here is the motor, I'm hoping I can get a replacement.
  4. I've looked the part number up on www.vagcat.com and it looks that the main part is 'number 1' (part number: 1HO407271CX) so its the whole driveshaft plus the uber-expensive inner and outer CV joints and all other little bits. Gutted that its going to cost me that much, but I suppose I have to bite the bullet. I wonder if they'll take my old driveshaft in exchange?
  5. I live in Germany and 2nd hand cars, especially Corrados are rare and expensive...but crack on with this website. Its kinda a Fritz version of AutoTrader. http://www.mobile.de/home/index.html
  6. Hi chaps, Got the car back from Volkswagen today and they've told me I need to replace the left drive shaft. They initially thought it was the right-side wheel bearing, but have since decided its the LEFT driveshaft. They've quoted me €396 (£346) for the following part numbers and labour: 1H0 407 271 CX (does this include the inner/outer CV boots too?!) N 905 876 02 N 911 082 01 Is this a good price? I seem to be spending loads on my Corrado lately... :gag: Cheers.
  7. Dude, I thankfully don't have to endure living in the UK. Where I am you basically have winter tyres or a 4x4 for 2-3 months of the year to get about! Much more than 1mm.
  8. Can't make this one tonight either chaps - someone else can take my place in the league. I'm just taking up space. Cheers.
  9. Don't get me wrong, I love the car, its in better condition that most as I spend a fortune keeping it so. The novelty value of driving a older, mint, car is starting to fade a bit.
  10. Whoops, sorry. No, I'm the 2nd owner of my car. I'm toying with the idea of finding another owner for my car though :?
  11. I'm the 2nd owner of the car :)
  12. This is new daily driver / car for t'wife. Electric windows, sunroof, heated leather seats, 10 disc CD and Mini Disc :confused4: , PAS, TC, ABS, 5 alloys, sport mode and tiptronic 'box with full LandRover history :) PLus its the one with the BMW diesel engine. Well pleased.
  13. Yeah, I can use the allen key to make the sunroof slide and tilt easily enough, so I'm guessing its something to do with the motor in that case?
  14. Hi guys, I've managed to close my sunroof manually with the handy VW provided allen-key under the interior light...however, I need to replace the motor as I'm assuming its knackered. :? Replacing the motor doesn't look too hard, but I was wondering if anyone has ever done it and if its a nightmare to do. Cheers.
  15. Won't be able to make this. Have to many work commitments.
  16. Yeah. You. :cuckoo: agree with psiburr on this one Congratulations. Good luck explaining it to your insurance company.
  17. "Written Off" is a scary thing that puts many buyers off. What it could mean is that it was a total loss, as in the cost of repairs out-weighted the cost of the car, I had this with my Mk1 Golf. However, to many people (potential buyers of said car) it does have a tendancy to mean that the car has been involved in some kind of major RTC and now is unsafe. As said it shouldn't put some people off, however saying that I wouldn't buy one as normally there are so many other Corrado's to choose from.
  18. I'm going to try to use the steering wheel and pedals for this race, putting me at a disadvantage as I'm still learning the game using it...but its much more fun!
  19. Anyone? I'm sure we could come to some arrangement where you can use the car now and again :?
  20. If you do get one from the dealers can you let us all know what the price(s) were? I'd like to change mine to smarten them up a bit.
  21. I have no idea what a decent turbo'd Elan (M100) would be like, however despite owning a mint VR6, I'd love to own a nice, decent Elan. Although with Mk1 Elise prices being what they are, surely a decent Elan costs about as much as an Elise, which would be a better car than either!
