me too, I like to think when I see a young punk/girl in a brand new Golf GTi/Audi TT/BMW that they still owes the bank man 85% of the car or they're part of the silver spoon brigade and 'oh thank you Daddy'. However, when I see an expensive car I like ie Porsche / R32 / RS6 I always assume the driver worked their butts off and really deserve it :? that said, even If i had a garage full of my dream cars, there'd be VR in pride of place for sure :D

just be thankful you guys have a choice. Here in Guinness land, 'Super Un-leaded' or 95. That's it. The aul fella put a full tank of your V Power/Max stuff in his 911 when he brought it over to UK a while back, and claims it runs noticably worse on Irish flop :D for the record, given the choice, i'd put the good stuff in every day of the week......which I'd end up doing anyway

what are your perfect wheels for a 'Rado and why? Disc
sprinterVR6 replied to vwdeviant's topic in General Car Chat
mine are 17's although I should've gone for a coil over pack and not just some G Max lowering springs! Ride can be slightly bumpy on our crappy roads. Still corners like a Go-Kart though :) -

Not sure if this should be in 'interiors' or here. sorry! Heater Matrix blew sending alot of water(?) into passenger/rear passenger footwells. I've mopped up most it now, but it was fairly bad, I was wondering is there any lasting damage being done? Rust etc. Also, this might sound a bit dumb, but the amount of liquid involved in the flooding i can't imagine equals what was in the Expansion Tank (which was completely emptied) maybe my Expansion tank is bigger then yours

Amen to that. Although trying to get new job in the City so I can use the train and save the car! Just glad it was already in great condition. My thanks go to previous owner Chris (Kent/Tun Bridge Wells / Kipping cross area? ? - big up yourself if ur on here  ) for keeping it in such good nick, so all I have to do is keep up the good work.

Just got the call back from Garage, it is indeed the Heater Matrix, BUT!, and I hope it's not of Dawn French proportions, the passenger headlamp +rearlamp were 'ON', yet I had all the lights switched to 'OFF'. Hmmmmmmmmm.... :( -

Thats a bargian - VW book time is 6 hours for this job!!! I wish!! That figure is for the Heater Matrix part alone (when converted from Euro to GBP) The labour I understand will be 'slightly' more :( -

I'm looking to order off GSF for the part (£38) as garage are looking to charge me €120euro, which is about £85!! The dirty bas#rds... What are the main factors that would've caused this? Age of car? Build up of leaves/rainwater?? I'm dying to blame it on where I'm forced to park at work..... :D -

cheers guys, just nice to know what the cause was. Peach of mind and all that. Just hoping it's not gonna 'burn' a hole in my pocket to get fixed :? What kinda money we talking? Thanks again -
wondering can someone shed some light on what the f#ck happened to me this morning. Past few days I've been having real trouble with the windows misting up and a nasty acric smell in the cabin. I've only had a brand new rad put in few months back and coolant level has always been spot on. Then this morning, as I picked up soem speed coming down the off ramp to main road, smoke/steam?? started pumping out from the dashboard. Within seconds I couldn't see a thing. Luckily I was quite close to the hard shoulder and could pull in and jump out. It's in my local garage now and the engine seems fine. What the hell happened?! Ps: i can see all you oily rag brigade tut tut'in away!! But I did check all the levels this morning honest!

sorry to hear that Jules, I've same prob in my work car park. I end up having to park the left side as close to a wall or pillier just so that which ever rubbish head parks beside me, at least I've given them almost one and a half spaces :? As for Big car parks Tesco etc I just park miles away where no one else parks and use about 3 spaces. If anyone ever gave out, I'd not give a monkeys and point to the 2 dings I've got so far(thankfully now not too noticeable).

Great work on getting the attached article. Shall use it to prove to my mates just what these cars are all about :D Cheers

True, but then they only made 500 Storms 8) Not sure how many 'Pirelli' cars will be rolled out. Probably 50 :D But yeah, a different seat cover??? Bit lame. Maybe a slightly diff exhaust config??

phew..cheers Goldie. It's weird, I used the correct procedure this morning when cleaning out an old cereal bowl that had Alpen in it for 2 days. Simply soaked it a bit, left it, and hey pesto. Just wish i'd applied the same logic with my pride and joy!! Thanks again

Thought I'd get this in before someone else does what I did. Just got back to car and found large bird sh#t down drivers side bodywork. DO NOT DO WHAT I DID!!!! Simply gobbed into an old cleaning rag and started rubbing vigoursly. As the pooh had dried, i ended up leaving little scratch marks everywhere :( Has anyone esle done this and got the marks back out??

If you got rid of your C what modern car would you have?

Golf Mk4 R32 or nugget S3 -
Not sure why didn't post this before, but.... Was doing some early evening shopping few months back and on exiting the top level car park (keeping it real and real far away from knobhead car door dingers) I noticed the rear of a car in the adjacent housing estate that looked v. familier. I drove over to investigate. And low (i'sh) and behold there sat a C VR6 in Burgandy!! This being Ireland and the fact there's prob only about 10 over here at best (please correct me if I'm wrong) I was ruddy chuffed. I needless to say hopped out to have a right good butchers. She was looking a little tired, cob-webs on the side mirrors, brake disc's a little brown. Poor old girl. As I was doing my Dr. Quincy impression sure enough a door opened and out came the owner. Well blow me down!! It was my mate from College days back in 95/96 era and I'd not seen since. What were the chances??! Unfortunatly, fate was to have another say in things and 2weeks later he came out to find his pride & joy in bits. Some absolute ##########'ers had tired to nick it, but finding the engine very un-responsive (-the battery was flat! How's that for security) they proceeded to go round kicking lumps into it, pulled the steering column to peices, had the stereo, smashed the head lamps and generaly pulled at anything they could before sinking back to the pits of filth w'hence they came. Got chatting to him again this week, the VR's been up in local garage now for 4 months!! Parts coming in from Germany etc. The bills up round 3/4k EURO!! Only silver lining here is that it'll be back in good shape when completed and they go for 9/10k euro on Irish market. He has, I regret to add, lost his mojo with VR's now and just wants rid. It prob doesn't help him seeing mine cruising round, is his word, ''see u all the time in ur's-bloody blinds me the shine off it''. Thinking of popping round to him tonight. Might spare him the heart ache and taka the g'f's Daewoo Kalos instead! :(
