Isnt insurance a pain!!! vr6 might have to go
sprinterVR6 replied to Flexso's topic in General Car Chat
yeah Insurance is a major 'scare-away' for potential owners. Especially over here Ireland (we should be in the World Cup you know :bad-words: ) My Insurance is 1740euro per year - and that's actually not bad for a 2.9 here. Petrol is currently 1.29euro a litre here (or 1.14pounds) is that good? -
same here - main roads were perfect & dry so enjoyed satisfying drive down to my folks. Gave her a full wash/polish/dry down and hoovered carpets then finally let my Dad have a blast in it. He was v.v impressed, said the gearbox is much smoother / resposive then his Porker 993. Which is nice. The weathers good over here till Wed/Thurs so reckon some after work spins are in order

this man speak'ith the truth - let this one go - you can quite easily get hung up on a car your looking to buy and reason / commonsense go out the window. I've been there. A stunning looking S3 broke my heart a while back. ''STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE''

I always feel a sense of pride when I'm in either a Tesco carpark or Service station forecourt b it in mint nick or a bit dirty, I'm always so happy it's my car. And you look around and see all the Passats, Beemer young executive mobiles with there try hard alloys and optional sports pack mods, and they boot everywhere drving up ur hole at roundabouts Gareth Cheeseman stylee. But you know 9 times out've ten they look at your car as it leaves them for dead and their secertly wondering why there driving Dr Blands Bland Mobile and wish they had a proper sports car. They all think oh the engine's far too big, waste of petrol, sure they always break down don't they and there so old. My point is, we couldn't gone the easy option and all be driving Goofs with more reliability (sort of) newer, safer and comfy interior, but we did'nt. We put in the hours of labour and wads of cash so we can 'feel' something for our cars. We invest time and money and we get repaid in kind with the smiles per miles at 10/10, knowing glances of appreciation, and just the general warm glow you get when you know you've to pop back down the shops for something, anything. And I for one wouldn't have it any other way.

Couple of points with this. 1. Reminds of the Pet Wagon in the movie 'Dumb & Dumber'. Ironic somehow. 2. Wing mirror appears to be facing into the cabin - so the driver can see himself and admire his new trick teeth whitening job, done no doubt with Tipp-ex. 3. the rock under the rear wheel is to stop the car rolling backwards, as he's removed the centre console and handbrake to install the ejector seat set-up. Which he correctly installed following the instructions right through, but forgetting his car is left hand drive.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
sprinterVR6 replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
I was just looking through my posts from a while back and I noticed all my car issues happened in the winter. Heater Matrix went / expansion tank went / burst rad / door handle snapped and found a 'Best of Westlife' CD under passenger seat  I'm thinking of trying to immimise usage of the C as much as possible. Or only take out if outside temp is above 5/6 degrees :confused4: -
i was sat there for a good 5 mins before i burst out laughing...[/quote:3l5gzti4] Credit where credits due - that is very good

great find indeed! I've email the pic to my mates who keep asking, ''so wtf is it then?' or 'why do you w##k all over that old banger' I'll think it's time I 'against my better judgement' let them have a spin it in. That might answer a few Q's :norty: Still can't get over how quick it is when you run her up to 3,000rpm in 2nd and then ROAR!! Epic car and very deserving of above article! :notworthy: -
Car running a bit lumpy on start up - so getting new HT Leads as looks like they ain't been changed. Car is '95 vr. Do i also need to get a new dizzy cap & rotar arm? cheers

Induction Kits / very like Marmite - Need Advice please...
sprinterVR6 replied to sprinterVR6's topic in Engine Bay
Cheers guys :salute: what's the item code for the CDA for a VR6? When you put in the car details if doesn't show CDA as an option :brickwall: Side note: I'm not after noise  , it's purely to get cold air in and increase performance. So the CDA is the only one that can do this? -
just wondering which Induction Kit you guys would recommed. I heard K&N are quite bad. Any word on Pipercross Viper kit??? Thanks iain

Will of course get photo's up as soon as this filthy weather passes (July maybe?) and I can get it looking tip top... -
General question re waterproof Car Cover for the C
sprinterVR6 replied to sprinterVR6's topic in General Car Chat
cheers mate - guess it's back to the shop :bad-words: -
just bought a car cover for the C. Cost £60/70. Got it home and read on the box - ''Breathable & Water Resistant - NOT waterproof'' Excuse my stupidity, but can someone explain what this means  Basically, if I leave the car out with the cover on and it's a pis'in down all night, should I expect to find the car wet underneath the next morning  or in short, is this cover any use at all?................ Thanks

electric Wing Mirrors not working (both)..fuse issue?
sprinterVR6 posted a topic in General Car Chat
just wondering if anyone has had similier issue. both wing mirrors not responding when using in-car buttons. They're set at a bad angle for me (new owner of very special C - full story later) and wondering if it's a simple fuse issue seeing as both are not working? Also, slightly diff issue - and potentialy bigger - the gear stick is vibrating a bit, especially when in 5th and when the car is coming down from high'ish revs. Clutch problem? Or, please, please, please, just a loose gear stick? -
