  1. i reckon you've knocked the temp sensor plugs into the expansion bottle
  2. before you install that thermostat, test it in a cup, ive fitted a jank gsf one that failed, wish i tested it first lol
  3. if a car has a distributor then it has to have a coil to distribute the spark, coilpacks fitted to later cars are per cylinder, i prefer the distributor method as im old skool and parts are cheaper, with the coilpacks, only one has to fail and you've got misfiring problems, for the record my younger brother is an RAC patrolman and a ford boy to boot, its a running joke between us about volkswagens reliability and the vast amount of newer vws that have this problem, its so prevalent he keeps vw coilpacks on his recovery van lol
  4. Still getting to grips but am finding it smooth and easy so far, good job guys!
  5. well its empty in here but i thought I would reply anyway!
  6. I think this firm trade under raceland and or Vmaxx, they are meant to be ok on the golfs and C but crap on the mk4. I know the unacceptable state of expensive Koni coilovers after a couple of years at -40mm, personally I dont think these have a chance unless your C is made outta fibreglass and you(driver) go on a "the biggest loser diet" then they might exceed the warranty....
  7. sound deadening, I used a plastic straight edge and turps after pulling most off by hand, left a scratch free zone.one of the first things i removed when I got the car.
  8. When I took one out for a spin i was mightily impressed, the alfa all day long for styling but would i have one..............no... why??? because my C has character, agreed a jekyll n hyde :cuckoo: one but nonetheless thats the attraction. also for the era the C is the benchmark competing against alfa 33's (kids drawing shape car) etc. If there was a new corrado made around the same time as this alfa then this topic wouldnt have existed :notworthy:
  9. can you access under the car and try and grab the cable where its attached to the front valance,a sharp pull on that normally release the catches? easier if you can access through the front grill nr where the horns are, gd luck.
  10. thanks for reply,i'll check it tomorrow
  11. car still looking good, cant believe its near two years since i commented on this thread. question for you, did you find out why your speedo was chasing the rev counter, mines been doing that and on a strip down couldnt see anything amiss,am relying on judgement to know what speed im doing but would like it back to normal.cheers
  12. dang seven screens?! i made the AA bloke take it out telling him my cat could of done better,i removed the scuttle, wipers and covered the dash and seats when he refitted the next one and took half day off work to assist him. same firm done the rear side on my 6n polo, it was so bad that i asked him if he threw it in from over the road, again another day off work and refitted, can it be so hard to do,if i was you and if possible take a day off and help him.......i wait to hear how it went, good luck
  13. anyway i have a small extinguisher loose in the boot, just havent got round to fitting it and an omp rally electrical system under the glovebox(detonation button in front of gearstick) with two nozzles under the bonnet strapped to the strut brace, just hope i never have to use it, as an extra measure i rerouted the coil wiring as this is the g60 achilles heel, imo the best place for a handheld extinguisher is as low as you can get it and securely strapped(in the event of a collision its just another item that can injure yourself)if you're thinking of getting an extinguisher then try and get one with a gauge, nothing worse than one that dont work :gag:
  14. that depends on the size of the knife but the fact he states on an open forum that its a road rage knife is incriminating by itself and will surface if the reason demands, it at least shows that not all corrado owners have brains :cuckoo:
  15. where did you send your charger to?
  16. i think he means a carbon spoiler and also it looks like someone trying to make a fast buck
  17. could be a bad earth, check or better still reassemble and ensure a good earth contact at both the battery and the other end.
  18. mint(as in spotless) green rado16v **** JBL running borbet A's on the saturday at battlesbridge vw show, shame you didnt stay the weekend, oh well i had the only corrado during the whole weekend 8)
  19. could be the piston rings letting by,the lambda sensor not functioning correctly and a few more variables, get a compression test done first to see if its as manufacturers spec suggests, good luck
