I quite like those 850 T5-R's too, just for the power of them!!!! No wonder all the coppers used to have them!!

Theyve just told him they reckon its the MAF, and have changed it. He got a good deal though ;) Also, if it doesnt prove to be that he can take it back. So dont go disappearing yet mate ;)

They chopped off the end of one of the vaccuum pipes due to deterioration. Fitted new pipe behind the MAF (Big flexible one). It was the only fault code, however the lambda was a bit erratic when we arrived at Gavs (Gav you got more info?) The light was cleared down yesterday, and has come back today. VW have the car again now, but they say they had the same fault code and still dont know what it is. He also thinks they changed the MAF. Whilst looking yesterday, we could hear a slight hiss of air, but couldnt work out where from, may be a red herring?? All of the pipes seem ok. Also, the car doesnt seem to run any differently.

Ive got problems getting into first or eeverse after Ive been driving. Ive greased it and it seems to have helped a little, maybe it just needs some more??? Let me know how you get on with yours Mike.

Will do, next time I go back to Norwich!!! September I think :(

Kev The first one was dead when I bought the car the other month, so it got changed. The lights were pulsing on the new one though. This went back to the crappy garage to sort it, and they replaced it, under warranty. This one does the same though. Should I just get another one under warranty?

I'm now on the second serviceable Alternator in my C, as the last one (which replaced the one before it) gave up the ghost after a couple of weeks. The problem with this one is (and the last one) that the lights are/were pulsing when the engine is running. Everything is pointing at the alt, but Ive since heard that there is a diode pack which regulates the ac voltage. True? If so, is it an add on, or a part of the alt? If its an add on, where can I get one? How much? Does anyone have a part number? Or better still a spare diode pack :D Cheers Stan 8)

As before, make sure about the heating element mate. Dont think anything was attached to the mirror itself, but its all in the housing. :)

My Conlog alarm fob died today, so had to get in with the key. Ive since got home and found the spare is dead too. Ive heared that batteries for these are fairly hard toget hold of, is this true? Are the stealers the only place that do the batteries? Cheers :)

My mates 2.0 8v GTI has the engine warning light on constantly. He has been back to VW on 5 occasions, and they have cleared the fault and confirmed the fault is: Bank 1 Too lean However after 20 mins the fault reappears. He changed one of the pipes which had an NRV in it, but it hasnt fixed it. They dont know what is causing the fault, as usual!!! Does anyone have any ideas? ECU? MAF? Speed Sensor? Ta
