  1. Cheers fella, going to have a crack at it tommorow morning...
  2. Hassan, right it looks like you need to drive over to essex and help both me and Mark lol. Good luck sorting it mate.
  3. Hey guys, my first post here with VR troubles lol. So i was driving on the A406 a while back cruising at about 50-60 in 5th, then i tried to accelerate and i noticed i had no power, i mean foot planted down and it wont accelerate! So i turned off the music and i noticed it also sounded really rough, more like a Subaru or something. Anyway, i dropped it to 4th and tried accelarating and it was a bit better but terrible none the less. I got to a set of traffic lights and the idle was very and irratic but by time the lights went green it was fine again! Prior to all this for about a month or so the car had been cutting out when coasting after full throttle moments and when coasting on cold start for about 5 minutes. So i continued my journeys for the week and got about 50-60 miles before this happened again while parking up at home. Now it starts up fine and behaves as usual untill oil temps hit about 50-60 degrees and then it sounds like a muscle car/subaru type thing and shudders quite alot making the whole car vibrate heavily. Exhaust then pops on over run too which it never used to and stinks of fuel, if i let the car warm upto 80ish degrees and give it some i can faintly smell burnt oil too. My driveway has now got a nice black soot mark where the exhaust has let out alot of what im assuming is unburnt fuel. It has full power btw before it warms up, after warming up, down to half power or less but still manages to bark like a vr. It doesn't actually stutter or hesitate though, just feels like a 1.6 now. Right, so i'm planning on changing my spark plugs and checking the coilpack as i have a spare (thanks Neil), the maf's fine as the car completely cuts out if i disconnect it. Anything else i should check? Sorry for my vague descriptions. I was going to Vagcom the car but i need to buy the obd1 adaptor... Thanks for reading Abdul :(
  4. Ive got this problem on my rado from the previous owner 'dry' storing it... 4 hits with menzerna intensive polish and im still working on it lol. That lacquer looks superb and the reflections great but when the sun hits the roof you can see semen stains on my roof, big ones  Lights sound good though fella, get some piccys up. Whens the suspension getting done?
  5. mmm, shiney! How do you find the Menz polish mate? I'm finding it really dusty! Really dusty but does the job bloody well imo. Didn't work as well on bmw paint but has done a great job on both the corrado's ive owned and a couple of other dubs ive done for locals...
  6. Hey Ollie, thanks bro, hope its treating you well... get some pics up!! Righto so paint work correction begun today, didnt get much done after faffing about with clay etc so only wings and bonnet have been hit with Menzerna Intensive Polish at this stage, rest of the car still needs to be done then i'm going to go over it with Menzerna Final Finish followed by Poor Boys Blackhole sealant and then Dodo Juice Supernatural... Good reflection for OE paint eh? Sh*t loads of chips up close though lol.
  7. Only the bonnet and wing have been polished in this pic using menzerna intensive polish... Still not gave it the the final finish polish or any wax... Sorry about the random microfibre and extension
  8. Looking great buddy, thanks for the info earlier on...
  9. Corrado's will never have good systems imo as the most important part of your system imo is the mids, now on the corrado not only are they 5.25" but they're also mounted on the flimsy doorcard rather than on the inner doorskin etc like a mk4 golf. BUT if you're going to try to get a good set up then start off with some 6.5" door pods and a quality 2 way speaker set up, forget the infinitys, whats your budget? Personally id also be fibre glassing and deadening the doorcard to add as much strength as possible and deadening the actual door. Up to you how far you want to go and how much of the original sound you want reproduced. Mount the tweeters on the pillars imo, forget the stock locations. Oh and make sure the speakers are amped up and lose the 6x9's. As for headunits, whatever takes your fancy really but ive always been a fan of the Pioneer P88RS and am looking for another at the moment.
  10. Looks good dude, i personally think you need to lower it substantially or fit fatter less stretchy tyres. Maybe its just me but with that amount of arch gap the stretch looks a little silly. Either way, sorry to hear about ur achilles mate, sounds painfull...
  11. Rears look like 205/45 or 215/40 to me... Most 205/40s would have the lip completely exposed.... Nice car btw, lower it some more? :D
  12. Looked good today mate, thanks for dropping off the lights... Oh and it didn't sound half bad either... Let me know if u want to get your exhaust done in the future, i know a good place!
  13. Thanks mate, unlike the golf in the first pics it was waxed which makes a difference plus the lighting was on my side lol.

    Early VR's

Christ how low do you run if you can see the fuel tank!!! After driving the Mk2 for the last two days it makes the Corrado feel like a new car. Im amazed there from roughly the same era. I never liked the mix of Mk2 trim in the early cars, the later trim suits the car a lot better. I think the green started when it was offered on the Mk3 Golf as well so around 93/94. Yeah pretty low tbh, need to come up with a solution for the vr's sump before i lower it anymore... Mk2's just feel ancient and brittel to me inside because of the dash and the rattles! I love looking at em but dislike riding in em tbh. You've got a nice one though mate... :D
  15. Yup, i replied in your other thread, i use menzerna polishes and a silverline rotary... Don't go any lower than 195/40's, you'll probably want 10-15mm spacers up fronts and 15-20mm on the rear but you might need to roll the arches depending on your offsets. Also, with 195/40's to get the desired effect you're going to have to slam the car.... Crap pic but i only had 195/40's on the front then and i still had space to go lower by about 10-15mm and the wishbones etc used to hit the ground all the time so i jacked it up to this height..
  16. Get yourself on Elite car care and buy some Menzerna polish, i use Intensive polish followed by final finish with elite's red soft pad... Works great imo, there are of course alternatives but Menz is all ive used so thats what i recommend lol. I follow that with Dodo juice supernatural, great wax imo but i dont really rate the rest of the range... Some results i've got with the above combo... My Golf which had a pretty top end respray.... These were all before any wax was applied btw Old valver...
  17. i pretty much want the stance that the rado in your sig has, that looks so mean and knarly! how did you go about it? same as me (coilies and spacers) or different? I had 9's all round buddy with an et of 15... If you want 9s all round though you'll need rolled arches, id run et20-25 up front though as you have early wings. I had late wings and none of my arches were rolled but the fronts never caught the tyres (wider wings) but the rears did. Oh and you'll need stretchy tyres, i had 215/35 falkens but next time im going to go 205/40 unless i can afford arch work in which case 215/40 works better for me... I also had weitec coilovers which were pretty damn stiff, not comfy but the car drove like it was on rails... A pic:
  18. Im really liking this chap... looks good. Spacers and more lows will look great!
  19. Id just stick with a regular quick detailer tbh but even then I only ever use em if i've already washed the car on the same day. You will scratch your paint and leave endless amounts of swirls.
  20. My audi a3 1.8T i had (was a minter), had full audi history and had over 2k of bills from audi in that last year yet the car was a bit under par tbh... Jerked around like the A6 above... Oh and it was on a long life service plan, biggest BS ever.

    Early VR's

Irrelevant but i really want an early fuel tank (looks better from behind) and early heater controls... nice oldskool feel!!
  22. Tbh ive hit the limiter plently of times and its been fine, not that i recommend it lol.
  23. I have no clue what that is but it must piss you off!! Im going to sound like a tool now but where is the isv? I know what it does but dont know what it looks like so cant clean it!
