LOL I agree, i used to love having my valver slammed when i first bought it but the ride was sickeningly poor tbh compared to higher rado's. I think this time i want a similar stance to how Zak's blackberry Vr is, nice and usable but looks the biz. Your car needs all the arch gap it can get with the amount fo power you're running  The arse end must seriously plant down when u put your foot down! Thanks for the tip regarding the fuel tank. :salute:
-
LOL thanks for that mate. I might just set em to what u said all round and fill her up with some fuel and visit some twistys and adust till im happyish. I have no clue as to how stiff the Fk springs are though but ill just fiddle till im happy. The ride height isnt exactly jacked up now but its very comfortable at the moment. When i do go for 16s or 17s ill try my best to follow the 2 finger rule. No guarantees though! 0 gap is normally my thing but ill try to go for half a finger this time depending on tyres and how the car rides. I do fancy being able to thrash the VR.

Hey Kev, some good info right there... As mentioned above ive got the FK konigsports on my vr with the adjustable koni dampers... What would u say is a good setting for a nice balance of turn in and a bit of lift off fun? I know its down to preference but i thought id ask someone who clearly knows more than me about suspension lol.

You want to be a bit careful with the water pipe to the throttle body, it's got a one way valve in it, and can affect coolant flow to an extent. ORLY??? Yeah, some people have jumped to the wrong conclusions, but they weren't given all the facts at the beginning, and to be fair for someone who's been around here a long time, and a lot of people will have expected to have done lots of homework before buying a VR, you could be percieved as being a little naive at times. YES really, ill explain everything one last time. I didnt mention in my first post that on my way home from collecting the car the crackpipe decided to let go. I did all the research i could on buying a vr, i read through sh*t loads of stuff and did more or less all of the appropriate tests when i was there. Admitedly i am more into aesthetics than i am the mechanical side of things but even then i checked as much as i could. Most of my research on VR's has been aimed towards maintenance and keeping them running good. Now, because i dont have any space in my drive or a garage the car is at a garage, an exhaust and engine rebuild specialist as it happens. So they're now sorting that out for me. They're also puting an mot on it for me even though it isnt due for 3 months, why? Because i want to get the car running perfect and so anything that needs doing can be done. There are we happy? I have not had the chance to look at the bay since dropping the car off at the garage and even then i spent all my time staring at the crackpipe. This would expain my 'naive' questions about how to take the cover off the inlet. If i can ask and find out where what is screwed in it makes my life easier when it comes to removal right? Also, seriously, i bought a car ive wanted for so damn long and so yes i am excited and making enquirys about all sorts of mods, even stuff i cant afford yet. F*cks sake, cant a brother be excited over a new purchase, i mean it only lasted a whole 3 hours which would further explain my eagerness to start modding it when i get it back So i believe my questions about tuning are reasonably justified, the garage is an exhaust specialist, they can decat the car before i collect it, they can also port the tb for me should i ask them to do so. N yes i am asking questions that have been asked a millions times over but if someone is opening the thread to read it, surely it wont harm them to take 30 seconds to reply and say yes decat it or no dont etc. Is there anything else that you feel was naive about my posts? And yes, i am capable of doing small things like changing hoses or whatever because thats what ive had to do on my valver, with the VR, judging by my research i gathered its a more complex engine and tbh id rather not mess about with it, ive wanted one for the last 2 years, now i have one im not going to F it up by being tight over a few quid in terms of paying a garage. Even if i wanted to change the crackpipe i couldnt with the reasons being as follows: first of all, i dont know how and i dont want to mess anything up trying plus i have f all tools, second, i have no one to ask for help, none of my friends know anything about cars and now i know not to ask on here. See, everything ive just typed out ive already typed out but im not too sure on how to use the forums quoting feature. If people would bother to read everything they might understand why i am asking what im asking. If u can, close this topic, to be honest, nothing of any use has come out of it.

I'm not worrying, well, not too much. I know Corrado's aren't cheap to run, and any car that's as old as this will need taking care of, and that takes time and money. So I'm not jumping blind into it, I know generally what to expect. And I know that everything you put into it is worth it when you come out with a treat like a headturning Corrado VR6 Couldn't agree more... if anything is gonna cause problems on a good engine/car, it's tuning/modding/tinkering etc. I've seen perfectly sound cars turn into nails because a mod has gone wrong... so if you start with something that's not right, it's only gonna get worse and the problem will escalate FOR GODS SAKE. ITS A DAMN CRACKPIPE THATS GONE WRONG not the entire head. Jeez. I took care of my valver for nearly 2 years without any problems, this time im giving my vr to a very reputable company to do any work etc and your sitting here talking about problems escalating? Did any of you guys even bother to read my first post properly before u jumped on the thread and started talkin to me like im an idiot? All of a sudden, i understand where all the hate directed to this forum on other forums comes from. All i asked was, what can i do to tidy my bay followed by a few *light* tuning questions.

My cars a 94 so needs a cat for an mot which is getting done as we speak so i wont have to bother with changing cats till this time next year. The garage i use specialise in exhausts anyway so ill just ask them to swap it over for me for free... The car is/was running fine, had a broken crackpipe which is a common issue so thats being sorted before the mot is done. If i am going to decat it i need to decide by tommorow as the garage doing the work/mot is an exhaust specialist and so can decat it while its there. Is there any harm in asking about modifications a few days before i get my car back? N yes ive perhaps asked some very novice questions about tidying the bay etc but i had the car for the best part of 3hours so havent really even had a chance to look at the bay properly, im going off the one pic i posted in my first post. N yes im a little bit excited and eager about getting it back and working on it. This forum is full of grumpy old men i tell u! Oh and the search function never really comes up with anythin definitive. Erny, Thanks dude. :salute: :notworthy:

I dont know the answer to any of your questions but seriously im coming to you to sort my slightly erratic idle lol.

Go to Alan day VW mate, just off the A406 towards west london from where u are. Wont take u more than an hour to make the round trip. Remember u can use a 6n ignition switch too. I actualy got mine from Nirro (parts/service specialist for vag's) but they're in barking so Alan day is closer...
-
 yeah its running fine - not boasting but mine is mint with low mileage and gets treated very well.......I'm just a realist about the VR's real world performance :D Thats cool man, like u said, every vr seems to be different, before i bought mine i test drove a couple of low milers and tbh was dissapointed but then mine is admitedly a high miler (153.5k) and goes a lot better then those... Put it to you like this, ive properly kept up with a couple of mk3 vrs and even beaten one by 2 car lenghts once in my valver  The rado is a proper ghetto car man
-
Thanks for the post fella, nice and informative. Have u got a link to this lead removal tool? How did u go about porting and polishing your tb? I wouldnt mind trying myself too!! I believe my header tank is a mk4 one? Oh and yep i want a more fancy bay tbh lol. Im on the hunt for a spare inlet to start polising.
-
Cheers for the comments 8) yeah the rears on the valver are poo aren't they? previous owner did that, never got round to sorting it out  If they were laquered they'd be fine but they just look like they've got a coating of mud at the mo lol.
-
Both look great mate, recondition the storms leather and you'l b laughing! Not feeling the valvers smoked lamps but other than that :salute:
-
Tease!!!
-
LOL useless design. Its proper annoying, mine used to make the most noise on idle and moving off, i guess vr's are more refined though hence rattling at higher revs.
-
Would that hold it in place though?
-
Zak, dont make me post up those pics bro... :norty: Get some fresh ones up with the dish!! 8)

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone localish wants to knock up a speed 3 fan switch for me? Ill obviously pay u for it. N yes before anyone decides to get funny i have read the thread and tbh it looks quite confusing so id rather not try and c*ck up somewhere! Thanks Abdul

Looks great mate. Those 301's must've cost a pretty penny to say the least lol.
-
I agree, my valver had a lovely rattle due to the heat shield. Lowness ruins cars i tell u.
-
If he says it looks mint, its mint lol. I agree though, i wouldnt scrap it unless the shells had it!
-
You dont technically need the heater on hot to bleed the system the matrix is always flowing with water even with the heater control dial set to cold, some earlier VW's had a regulation valve (ie Mk1 golf) which stopped coolant flow through the matrix when the control dial was set to cold but not the Corrado... You are a knowledgable chap i must say lol. I never knew that.
-
Thats pretty much the plan!! Performance mods have only been brought up because i got excited and went off track, the original idea was just to make the bay look prettier haha.
-
What coils are they mate? riding any better? Car looks ace btw.

Mileage is at 153k, its had the rear axle bushes done about 2 years ago which was a worry for me so they should be good for a while... Its not had a full rebuild or anything of the sort but the history suggests that more or less most of the parts that can go wrong have done and been changed lol. So im happy with that. The_dude you have a pm...
