Ok i didnt want to put any pics up till arches are sorted but i couldnt help but think that the car is sittin reasonably well at the mo considering the lack of any arch work and the 215/35's.... it doesn't scrub at all no matter how i drive it but no passengers in the back at high speeds lol. Sizes are 9x16 all round with et15. Once ive had the arches rolled all round with a lil pull out back ill drop her another 10/15mm all round... B)

Yeah i am lol. Like i said when it passes 118 or so i put the heaters on full blast, my balls dont allow me to keep the engine on past 122 lol.
-
Hmm fair do's but on cold start the exhaust is cold is it not? N yeah i suppose the cold weather does explain the over fueling because it is fine once upto temps...
-
Guys dont worry, im sorting it out aswell as the paint but i really want to minimize costs on this engine because ive also been saving up for a conversion for the last 6months+... thats why i really would rather just get a 2nd hand rad and switch, i mean lets be honest, complete 9a engines dont fetch much these days lol. The theory on the oil readouts being incorrect could be true because my fan only ever starts at 110+ and tbh while u can feel the engine heat when u open the bonnet its not like proper crazy or anything... The engine oil in the car is Synta Silver... the proper vw stuff anyway, i might have got the name wrong lol and the coolant is g12+ i think or was but now its just water, evian at the moment might i add  Oh and yeah the cars well stinky (petrol smell) on cold start but fine later on, n yup im pretty damn sure it was spitting out bits of petrol lol. Ill upload the pic asap. Thanks chaps, will update this thread with further developments! Abdul

Thanks Jim, going to get a 2nd hand one first, if that solves the problem ill get a new one... dont want to have to fork out for parts right now lol. I really want to FINALLY get some paint work done!!
-
Ok well ive got the biggest halfords batt that would fit and tbh i run 1.5k rms of bass and my voltage is pretty good etc, car always starts 1st time even after a couple weeks! Oh and like supercharged said, you get the 5yr guarantee from halfords... cost 100ish so good buy me thinks!

Hi guys, as above, the cars fine when moving but when in traffic i often see 116 degrees on the oil reading after a while and the coolant goes upto around 100+/- 5 degrees or so... Most of the time i have to turn the heaters on to avoid going past 120 degrees but after a while even that doesnt help!! Last week I saw 122 on the oil reading last week when stuck in major traffic due to the snow and had no choice but to pull over and pop the bonnet! Now ill be honest, the fan on these cars is f'in loud and i only ever hear mine once in a blue moon, mostly once the cars turned off so im guessing some sort of sensor is knackered? It also developed a new problem recently, radiators leaking! Im constantly having to top it up with water. Ive had various problems with coolant hoses etc before so im assuming this is all due to the high running temps? Does anyone still do new radiators or could i fit one from a vr maybe? Admitedly i do drive the car pretty hard but when thats the case all the temps stay dead on; oil around 100 degrees, coolant around 90... Last problem and ill get some pics up later, i think its running super rich, the stench of fuel on cold start is crazy, there was a tiny lake of fuel in my tailpipe last time i left it running for about 5 mins on cold start... any ideas? Any help/advice appreciated guys! Abdul

I agree with Millerman, too many times i have looked at other cars but i know ill end up modding em and they'll also end up bein a financial fail for me... plus the money id need on top to buy the newer car and then the newer car modding costs mean if i spent that on the rado id end up with a proper minter... So thats what im doing!
-
Tbh it is beneficial for all corrado owners lol. U get parts plus your car goes up in price as they become rarer but then its also a bloody tragedy when u think about it... I think in my 10 months of corrado ownership ive spotted 2 or 3 corrados while driving which really says it all...

Valver for the girlfriend's first car - opinions please...
Abdul replied to pete_griff's topic in General Car Chat
How about an 8v? Nippy enough for a new driver and probably more reliable than most valvers baring in mind the fact that they tend to be ragged to death!! You should also be able to get something with reasonable mileage etc that way. -
I love us lads all jump on the thread as soon as we see it 'ice grey violet' in the title lol. Paint looks to be in very good nick btw...
-
o yeah i love the colour too lol.. very nice base mate. Any plans for her?
-
Id keep the anthracite/black centres for a while then wen u get bored go colour coded!! The black and and dark red will work very well! If u want pokey stance, u want 15mm spacers up front and 20 out back, at least that way they can be hubcentric... even then they'll probably sit just past flush so all is good!! Oh and seriously, 205/40 willl look nice while riding well too!
-
Go for 205/40 or 45..i wouldnt bother with the 215s personally. They should fit perfectly, if worst comes to worst ull need 5 mm spacers all round but even then i doubt it! They're a very nice oem looking wheel! Get some pics up once its done! Abdul

 EVIL! Looks lovely mate... i want one!!
-
LOL... i still cant bloody find one!! Hmm.. maybe i should stick with ice grey violet! Are there any official figures for the amount of rado's sold in each colour? I mean what would be the rarest of the lot? Abdul :D
-
Hi guys and girls, ive been secretly on the hunt for one for way too long now and cant seem to find any!! I know they exist lol but they just dont seem to come up for sale! Are they quite rare in terms of numbers or do people just not sell em? I mean the amount of red/aqua blues i see isnt even funny... even storms seem to be common in comparison lol. Happy christmas btw! Abdul :D
-
Well a friend of mine runs em on his 280 hp polo and tbh they stop it from 160 to dead without much probs... he swears by em!
-
Not getting rid of the 'rado... Well OK I have!

Personally, ive thought about and have put the rado up for sale twice in the last 10 months or so and tbh i cant do it. Im thinking of getting something a bit newer, faster, more refined etc but im pretttttttttttttyy sure ill sell it and buy another rado so just goin to stick to it... I say u buy a Vr and charge it, might cost a bit more than 5 but hell its going to be worth it! :D Or, if its more reliability etc u want why not do an engine conversion to something newer? Out of the above 3 id go for the cupra btw, A/S3's are nice cruisers but so damn boring to drive imo... the cupra's actually more fun with its 2wd. Type R could be interesting aswell though but i cant imagine it being very refined!! -
I agree with this but im not going to lie i love single wipers lol. Abit of smoothage as far as the swage lines on the bumpers, roof aerial, wing indicators etc is all good imo but they dont take much away from the cars original appearance, just help tidy it up a bit but thats just my opinion!! StormchargedVr said it best tbh, each to their own! J, my valvers not going to be a valver for much longer... :D

88 miles £20 wtf?? now 120.5 getting better!
Abdul replied to marmite monster's topic in General Car Chat
Well if its any consolation to you VR owners my 2.0 valver gives me between 80 and 90 miles from 20 squid. I literally do a combined cycle; some stop start driving in traffic, some a road driving and a lot of heavy right foot action. Sucks. Edit: If i drove a bit more carefully and tried to avoid the stop start traffic im pretty sure that would be closer to 120 miles. I need a VR. -
Well, no real updates, had the mot done at one garage, they gave me a full page of things im failing on... these guys are supposed to be leniant btw on emmisions etc. I then didnt drive it for a couple weeks, then booked it in at torque exhausts who welded my broken handbrake caused by the previous garage, changed a few other bigs and did a full service and mot! All is now good in the world of me and my rado, its funny, ive owned it about 9 months now and in the first 8 months i only covered 1.4k n in the last 2 ive covered a further 800, its driving very well since the service (i had a few other parts changed too but i cant remember wat lol) and tbh is for once a COMPLETE joy to own!! So all in all im very happy at the mo, need to get my trackrod joint thingy done and thats it for maintenance... who knows the car might even make it into a bodyshop sometime soon! :D EDIT: It still drinks like a mofo, 50 miles from 10 quid with combined driving (inc a fair bit of london traffic) is difficult for me to get. About 40 is the norm but i do have a heavy right foot... :cuckoo:

Congrats on the feature brother... looks soo damn good... i feel ashamed of my ride height on the 17s looking at yours LOL...
