  2. I dont know about them but if you're willing to travel to east london then id recommend Dinatek. My cars booked in with him for next month. Thanks for the info Steve, as far as i understand the guys that'll be doing my conversion are going to sort out the loom but if not ill give u a shout... is your fmic visible behind the stock bumper?? The brakes are a bitch, going to cost a fair bit as im staying 4x100 so will have to source some porka calipers and get em on with bigger disks... :(
  4. You'll need a GT28RS to d1ck on Evos. K04 won't give anywhere the same bang for buck.... you said yourself TT's are slow and that's the turbo they have :wink: You're not wrong, but it's the (badly) modified ones that do that. My mate's Evo 9's exhaust is clean as a whistle and that's a 100% factory car.[/quote:2w758iox] The K04 should be capable of making near 280 brake so shouldnt that make it *nearly* as quick as a regular Evo once on the move?? Surely the Evo's weigh a lot more???

  6. Absolutely! You'll need larger injectors and a larger MAF, plus a bigger flowing diverter valve. It's all doable. Plenty of big power 1.8T's using the VAG management out there!   8. Thats true, tbh, if i went for near 300 bhp ish id be looking to get a diff on etc so it would make more sence to go 'balls out' and get a bit more oomph... Is it possible to run IHI/Garret set ups using Vag management though?? Marco, cheers for the offer mate, ill start now! lol... what intercooler/rad/fan set up did u use? Any pics of it? Is the FMIC hidden behind the bumper or is it visible? I really want it tucked away so no one can see lol. Cheers, Abdul

    Ahh man my 20v wont happen till september time, im just collecting parts for now, need to get a few bits painted and other random rado type crap sorted first lol. Would be nice to have a photoshoot followed by a little comparison up the strip... santa pod sometime??? :D :lol:

HAHA sounds the same as me I will get my ass handed to me on a plate every time in my Golf ( its a 1.4 :( :camp: :epicfail: :brickwall: ) so If i get some pr**k in a done up scooby, evo, corsa, saxo ect ect ect i just drive as slow as possible and stick as close to the center line as possible. Its great, ticks them right off :D 1.4 golf.. ouch, my mate used to have one, they really are painfully slow lol. I mean, its scary how slow his got with 3 up (no offence lol)... Hmm, me thinks its time to make my self feel better... wanna race??? :wave: LOL :lol:
  16. Cheers for the info lads, Im probably going to smooth the wings soon..ish so cant be arsed getting the indicator out LOL. Waynos, the grill was still matt and unpainted in that pic, i only put it on to see how it'd look. Ill get the bodyshop to paint it when the time comes but its staying black! I broke down again today, this problems been buggin me for the last week or so; as soon as my engine heats up after taking it out the car cuts out!! Finally decided to get it sorted today and on my way to the garage the car broke down lol. So, got fed up of waiting for it to cool down so i could drive off again and i called the AA who diagnosed the fault as being my Ignition module, the chap also adviced i change my coilpack so will be getting the parts asap and fitting them! Keep the feedback coming... :D Abdul :D

  18. Hi guys, names Abdul, i bought the Rado a couple months ago. Have wanted one for ages but couldnt insure a VR (was 19 at the time) so bought a valver and here it is!! Oh and id like to say sorry for the ****e quality pics, i refuse to buy a digi cam, being a student means im broke lol. It was on coilys of some sort but tbh they were ****e and were replaced with Weitec GT's. It also came with 16" Lenso BSX rims and thats about it. Since then ive just been tidying up bits n bobs, smoked indicators which now dont work at all because i managed to drop the actual indicators into the wing somewhere lol, got rid of the rubstrips, got some smoked rear lights and changed the splitter from a 90mm to a 50mm. Got the alignment sorted out but while i was there i figure'd it'd be rude not to get some camber dialed in up front to match the rear (no shims, just low-ness camber lol) so they're sitting -1.5 degrees i think. There are a few more bits n bobs but i cant remember! How it looked when i bought it: How it looks at the mo (there still glue left where i took the strips off in the pics lol) I like this shot alot Future plans: Some 195/40's for the front and some spacers to help the stance, lower it some more and thats about it for now. And for good measure.. My 1st car (2 years ago now!!), my beloved '01 Polo TDI Colour concept Heated recaro's baby!! A fully loaded '01 Audi A3 1.8T (180 bhp) followed this but only lasted 2 months and made way for the rado... Abdul :D
  19. Ive never been beaten by anything in my vavler yet, i dont bother racing lol, i know ill get raped by pretty much anything. Instead while they rev their engines/tail me etc trying tempting me to race i just carry on cruising casually letting them wonder 'hmm, that rado must be quick, he didnt even think of my s3/tt/bmw etc worthy of racing'... o yeah :lol: I actually had one guy follow me into a petrol pump the other day in a brand new TT-S asking me what engine my rado's running/how much power etc as i simply refused to race him... he assumed it was something stupendous like a vr turbo lol... oh what shame i felt :( To, the 1.8T'd rado owners, how fast are your cars lol compared to new school hot hatches?

I want a reasonably easy conversion in order to help keep costs down. Tbh, chances are ill with a new polo engine or something as new as possible with a vr box. If i ever go K04 then peloquin/quaife diff time and ill think about playing longer gearing etc lol. Im not a top speed guy, i get scared. :lol: As long as it can do 150ish (theoretically of course, i dont actually drive past 70 :norty: ) ill be happy, what i really want is stupidly rapid accelaration!   21. Id never sell my rado, it is waaaaaay to mint and ice grey violet seems to be pretty rare...ish. Thats the thing with the VR conversion, its kinda pointless, but i do love the vr soundtrack and driveability. I mean if i already had a vr then id go 24v but 1.8T seems like the best option for me. Pianowire, do u reckon its worth going for a BAM lump over the polo gti engine?? Only thing with the bam is serious traction issues. Im hoping one day when i have a bit more spare cash to get and lsd so maybe then ill stick a K04 on lol. What gearbox does everyone recommend? My stock valver box, VR or G60??? Im going to be leaving the car with my good friends from Torque exhausts in north london to do the conversion for me so the wiring and boost/intercooler pipe issues are not a problem. What intercooler/rad/fan set up is best while not raping my wallet?? Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it. :D
  22. Hi guys, i bought an ice grey violet valver a couple months ago and am thoroughly enjoying it! Only drawback is a serious lack of power lol. I mean its not bad above 4k but before that theres NOTHING... So ive decided rather than chuck shedloads of money into the 9a and end up with not much more power i want an engine conversion, either a 2.8 OBD2 VR or 1.8T with a k03s so 220-230 bhp once played with or a K04'd motor if budget allows... My question to you guys is what would you go for and why?? I owned an '01 Audi A3 1.8T (180 brake) for about 2 months before i got the corrado. I mean that thing flew imo but was pretty soul less and sounded boring as feck tbh, it was more economical than my valver though. I can only imagine that a 1.8T with 220+ brake in the lighter corrado would be pretty damn quick! Im swaying towards the 1.8T due to it being lighter, more powerful etc. Its also more convenient because i get to keep my current suspension set up and dont have to use the widetrack set up etc. If i go 1.8T ill be using the stock VAG loom. Ok, VR, umm stupendous noise, potentialy cheaper conversion depending on the engine and what it needs doing (chains, rebuild, cams etc). F/I'd Vr isn't an option btw. I dont like the way chargers sound and turbo'd VR's surpass my needs by far lol. Any opinions or advice would be appreciated!! Wouldnt mind any other engine conversion suggestions you might have?? R32's dont count, too expensive for moi. Thanks, Abdul

  25. Not sure where specifically but ive heard that from quite a few of the local chaps who seem to refuse to run decats lol. How much gain is there to had from a decat and how much loss from a 50mm? Cheers
