  1. Tell me more. I take it that when you say 'full' you mean complete and out of a working car?. Do all the pipe unions seperate?? Smoked Laminex Undecided if its staying. Light output at the moment is crap, whether that is the typical Corrado lights or the Laminex, im going to be upgrading the lights hopefully this week.
  2. Matt black paint chap! 8) Works a treat.
  3. Oh and roof fixed (another cassette from my Mk3 that i broke) and headlining painted black and Stereo done yesterday!, not bad for day one!
  4. Never got over selling my Classic green one about 18 months ago after putting alot of blood sweat and tears into it :- AC retrofit, head rebuild, chains etc so i bought this from Duncan on here... Needs lots of little bits and pieces doing, roof was fooked, headlining was grubby and dirty, pretty sure one or more of the lifters is sticking from cold. Needs a couple of bits doing on the bodywork and a few trim bits and bobs to sort but again im going to be doing a feew mods to her in preparation for the Ring again in August,Mocal 16 row oil cooler for one, my last Corrado VR hit 160'C oil temps after the drag up Kesslechen!, lucky i ran 10W/60 Shell Helix Racing oil eh!.. Air Con will be going in at some point, just need to find a suitable donor car to rob it all out of!. Good to be back Cheers Pete.

    Air Con

I fitted air con to my Corrado VR6, Sod of a job but worth it. So i dont know really why i sold it two months later!, Im a tw@t really!
  6. What size bore did they fit to your system? Ive now got an Alfa GTV V6 and theyve dropped the bore size from 2.25" OEM to 2" to the front silencer and to my horror 1.75" from the front silencer back to the tailpipe!. Ive emailed them and just spoken on the phone to Immy and he reckons its because its a free flowing exhaust thats why the bore is narrowed! - what a load of tosh!!! I then asked him why Novitec and Ragazzon systems are 2.5" all the way through to which he skirted round the question with ' i dont know what they use i just build my systems'... Ive told them i want it back upto 2 1/4" all the way through otherwise ill remove it and take it back to them for a refund....
  7. There is a seperate Diavia loom for both switches.
  8. Youll have to measure the stems with a vernier to get an idea of wear. If you cant find the specs ill have a look in the Bentley tomorrow.
  9. When using the master cylinder to bleed the brakes you undo the bleed nipple on the downward depression, lock the nipple off then shout for the pedal to come up. If you dont lock off between the pedal being depressed to pedal up you will introduce air back into the system as the pedal rises with the bleed nipple open...
  10. Depends on how worn the valves are, guides will usually wear before the actual valve stems wear due to the nature of the guide material. 2.8 guides and stem oil seals are identical to 2.9 bits...

    VR6 problems

That will just be a leaky cam cover gasket weaping oil into the head bolts. if your going to pull the whole engine then yes remove the front panel, if your just going to pull the head then no need.
  12. Fan switch is on the rad mate!
  13. If its for your G60 im pretty sure Darrren at G-werks doesnt recommend Induction kits on the G lader chargers, Something to think about maybe?
  14. Have you undone the bellhousing shield under the engine near the sump? two M6 10mm bolts to undo. Also have you undone the 19mm bolt at the rear of the block above the offside inner driveshaft cup?
  15. First number is the cold viscosity, second is hot. 5w40 is fine. 40 weight is what Vw recommend for the VR anyhow.
  16. You back in blighty dude or still in Germany? If in the tax haven that is the Uk nip down to GSf and get some Fuchs Titan 5w/40 fully synthetic, about 15 quid for 4 litre's. Basically any semi synthetic or fully synthetic thats 5W/40 is fine, temps are coming down a bit now so 10W/60 is still ok but you might find the tappets will rattle a bit longer than normal on the cold mornings!
  17. They are incredibly tight. Ive never had to do one on a VR but ive had to undo other cars before, ive had to buzz a car over on the starter motor before with a bar locked on the pulley. Do you know someone with a rattle gun? Either that or a bigger bar!!
  18. Agreed, worn rings is the usual culprit
  19. Difficult to see from the pics but if its light scoring you will more than likely get away with a good re-hone i would have thought. I would really not want to go down the route of oversizing unless it was unavoidable
  20. you should have bought my bottom end, Head is off so you could have inspected it.
  21. buy my 2.8 bottom end and get it rebored to a 2.9!! Use you old pistons Job done!!1
  22. That totally goes against what G-werks recommend for the G-lader superchargers. Synthetic is a big no no apparently. From memory when i had my Missus G60 serviced it is not good for the Apex strips iirc. Sometimes whats best on paper is not necessarily the best choice.
  23. Ive got a spare battery clamp if you need one?
  24. Thing is the belt on the VR prior to me fiting the air con was a Gates belt, no squeaks, nothing so its not just genuine belts that run silently!. Its just bad luck with the Dayco belts and to be fair they look to be of good quality they just dont like the Vr pulley set up i guess.
