  1. VW do a silicone grease in a tube which works very well on the sunroof guides, seat guides, rear spoiler mech....
  2. Partly; The turbo and injectors were new for a build that Kev decided against in the end, but the wastegate and some other bits and bobs came from his VRT. I want to run the standard manifold and a simple air to air charge cooler a la the Stealth set up, whereas Kev went the full monty with a Schimmel intake and water to air charge cooler. (Plus cams, DTA etc etc) M.
  3. Good suggestion. Anyone know where to source a suitably strong magnet?
  4. The eagle has landed. Many thanks kind Sir.
  5. Bet your 20v works better than my VR6 - car's on drive, engine's in shed!
  6. Thanks Chris, was just thinking I better send you a PM to see what's up. M.
  7. Crikey; have a look at the seller's other items... Some amazing kit in there - £25k sequential transverse box anyone?! M.
  8. I have a Jetex on my VR and am very happy with it. I went with the two box version which sounds sporty when given some beans but doesn't drone annoyingly on the motorway. Fit is good too.
  9. David, I've never met you but I'm kinda hoping you're the guy on the right......!
  10. Good to see you haven't forgotten about the old girl Alex - or us! ;o) M.
  11. I've heard six branches sound nice but make naff all difference to power - apparently they can actually knock the torque down a bit. Having said that, I've never seen any dyno figures to prove or disprove this.....
  12. That's a big roof light you've got in your garage... ;)
  13. Ahhh yes, sorry, completely missed that in the ad. M.
  14. I'm not so sure that was a true US spec bumper as it had the euro number plate recess and the American ones are smooth. It looks more like a modded euro one with US side markers in it to me.....
  15. I think most of us have done something along these lines at some point. One of my first jobs when acquiring my Rado was to refurb the VR6 grill page, so I masked it up carefully and as it was such a small part I decided the bathroom was the ideal paint booth. It was bit cold, so I whacked on the Xpelair which was obviously more than adequate for ventlation purposes.... 15 seconds worth of spraying later I could barely see the door to get out before asphyxiation set in! Spent the next 6 weeks with a razor blade cleaning overspray off the bath, window, mirror, toilet, radiator, sink...... Well done Mark; top job, you're the greatest....!
  16. I've had a decat on mine for 4 years and never had a problem at MoT time. I just smile back when the tester looks at me and smirks a bit - it's worked so far! Lol :)
  17. Hmmmmm, I remember saying exactly the same thing a few years back. Now married, daughter's a year old and the car's in a million pieces at my Mother's.... Actually, now I come to think of it the car's only in bits due to an attempt to get it fully 'prepped' for a turbo build that Mr Bacon talked me into!! Lol, I think we should introduce a 'Kev Health Warning' stamp on his posts to save any other self respecting, fully functional, slow-@rsed Corrado's from being Baconated.... :)
  18. I think that Corrado holds its own aesthetically in that crowd, but then the M3 and Monaro are not what you'd consider out and out beauties....
  19. I would also get a look at the 4x4s registration number and record it, just in case..... Maybe even report it to the Police as acting suspiciously - if they're legit then they won't object to answering a few questions and if they are up to no good it should encourage them to look elsewhere.
  20. Can you send a link Anna; I can't seem to find them...
  21. John at JMR (16vG60 username) is building a monster 4WD project at the moment - I'm sure he's worth a PM! Also, Harvey Rice at HR Engineering is one of the main protagonists out there offering a 4WD build service. M.
  22. What trouble did you have Jim? I've always found mine super reliable....
