hmm, since i've not had as much engine work done i'd expect i'm looking at something slightly lower than that then? plus mines a 1.8 and doesnt have the same torque at the top end IIRC.

Corrado Spotting Archive February 2005

Yellow, unknown engine, driving past the business park in sunderland at lunchtime today, we both flashed and waved... -
of course! pulled into the outside lane and pulled past effortlessly!

for a while now i've wondered what rev's the power peaks at on my valver, it doesnt seem to really come alive until around the 4500/5000 mark and pulls well from there, but does anyone know roughtly where it'll be developing the most power and where I should be changing gears for the best possible results?

theres a '16v' badge from a saxo on the back too which you cant quite see in that photo, his alloys were big chrome jobbies but overall it was fairly subtle, the driver was 100% chav though, glaring at me out of his window from under a mop of bleached blonde hair and a cap...

while on the way to get a subway sandwich this lunchtime i spotted this. the guy wasnt too happy that three lads in a corrado were 4 foot off his bumper trying to get a good photo but what does he expect?
-
borrow his keys and hide 100kg of lead in his boot then see how you get on ;)

theres deffaintly 'something' about cossies, but i still think that whale-tail looks ridiculous

the simple ones are the best. when a mate of mine inhereted a shed of a polo we very kindly removed the 'l'

it should be noted that red paint adds at least 100bhp. -
does no-one live close enough to go and have a butchers at the car?

the son of the pervious owner of my house had a mk1 gte, theres still a load of very rusty spares in the loft...oh and a front seat! when I decorated one of the bedrooms under the wallpaper i found, in big felt-tip letters 'I love my astra gte Y*** ***' :D

radoAds - did a bit of contract law at uni (odd for a media course but hey ho!) the price on the shelf is called an 'invitation to treat', once you get to the til and they ring up the price they're making an offer for you to accept which can technically be totally different to the invitation to treat, most shops will honor the price one the shelf though, like tafkadm said.

try just looking at them blankly and not saying anything back at all :| , prize for the person that gets talked to for the longest!

well said!

both UNKLE albums are fantastic, even though its just James Lavelle on the 2nd one, he obviously learned alot working with shadow on the 1st one...

i think that was more of a general discussion ted, the difference is more apparent in a valver since they were designed to run on 'full fat' petrol. IMO if you have a valver, run it on super.
-
i didnt use super for the first few months and it pinked like mad when I was being 'enthusiastic'. I use nothing but BP ultimate now, or shell optimax if i have to, i find ultimate better as it still pinks a bit on optimax (which may well be down to something else!). As for performance, i think it goes better on super, but then that could be all in my head.

just had a look at those, very nice mate! the 16v video really sums up corrado driving for me, sunny day and nice roads - loving the subtle touch of the track you used too, considering the ending! my digicam will do video, but i'm not sure the quality will be up to much, I'll give it a shot though!
-
well in that case i should add that a mate of mine keeps telling me my car makes him 'sex wee' :| i'm sort of glad hes moved back to glasgow...
-
bukem, dj shadow, qbert... theres some good taste on the forum!
-
TBH there isnt much henny doesnt know about 1.8 valvers and g60's, his word is (oh the whole) gospel around here! :notworthy:
-
true, he was my inspiration for 'trying' to scratch dj, bought all the gear, found out i was utterly pants at it and sold everything a couple of years later. The set he did when he won the DMC's was amazing...
