chrishills silver vr6 - the wheels are on!
chrishill replied to chrishill's topic in Members Gallery
chris - yeah he does from time to time coxy - hows the conversion coming? me and chrisvr6nos were talking about trying to orgainise a local meet at some point (once hes back on the road) and probably a convoy down to the forum meet when it happens, be good to have a couple of charged up vr's in the convoy, maybe even three if paul (h8rra) gets his sorted out too. -
did this yesterday but... * fitted my headunit and removed the old one (not in that order!) * fitted momo gearknob and steering wheel * fitted dash speakers * swapped the heater fan * tightend numerous bolts, screws and fixings * replaced drivers side 'pin switch' so the interiour light now comes on when I open my door I would have given it a good wash and hoover but its been p*ssing it down for 48 hours now!

ah ha! spot on chaps, done it. nice to know the germans are partial to a cheeky tab out the back  sorry, think i've been upside-down for too long today.
-
is the tab more or less oposite to the connector plug?

I've got a new, quiet, blower fan to fit but I cant work out how to get the old one out! I've just spent 20mins upsidedown in the passenger footwell with my feet sticking up over the headrest (much to the amusement of some local kids) but couldnt work it out, can anyone do me a quick guide? ta

bit fussy and bling for my tastes, but i could see them on certain C's, they'd suit cheesys for example.

Agreed kev, I took it on a nice long run to wakefield, then over too leeds before heading back to newcastle and it was superb to drive on the motorway, even just sat at a steady 70mph its all so effortless for both driver and car. Couple of 'ooops!' moments when moving out to overtake other cars, 70,80,90,100 ARGH 110! how did that happen?! Just been out in the dark and drizzle to fit the momo wheel - its love already ;) -

Gran Turismo 4 - what do you think of it?
chrishill replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
Discovered something useful last night. I'm sure many others have already figured it out too, but I thought I'd post it for those that havent. Photo mode gives you the option to save to a USB memory stick, but since I dont own one I thought I'd try plugging in my digi-cam and seeing if that worked...it does! you can transfer your photos off the ps2, to the digi-cam, then back to your PC :D -
oh yeah, i should have realised, the lass we met was from wales somewhere! oh well... make sure you get the 'tracking' done rather than just getting the wheels ballenced. tracking is to do with making sure both wheels are pointing in the right direction like this | | (if you imagine the lines are your front wheels!) and not toeing in like this / \ or toeing out like this \ /. if they're toeing in or out you'll get major tyre wear. part of the fun is finding the bits you need, its like those trading cards you had as i kid...got...got...need...swap...got...swap ;)

scarlett, was it you that we met over in carlisle last saturday? you came to collect an aircon system from james? putting aside that little unfortunate episode since it was nothing to do with me... your car looked superb! easily one of the nicest looking C's I've seen in the metal. Dont dispair too much, most of the problems you're having sound like they can be fixed by an autoelectrican, tracking adjustment and a few second hand parts. If it was you in carlisle i'd definatly look into getting that seat repaired rather than getting a new one as they're hard to find in as good condition as yours seemed to be!

Fk Clear and red rear lamps, how do i know they are genuine?
chrishill replied to oldirtybastard's topic in General Car Chat
i dont think mine are E marked, so maybe they're an older version. I'll see if theres any other marks on them tonight when i get home. -
certainly seems likely if theres a 'vag' in the code!
-
i'd say thats a momo team thats had the logo removed and been retrimmed to match the seats.

Fk Clear and red rear lamps, how do i know they are genuine?
chrishill replied to oldirtybastard's topic in General Car Chat
mine had a sticker on the box, which looked like a referance number, starting with 'FK'. They also have 'special edition' in the red of one of the lenses. hope that helps! -
did you change the leads as well as the plugs?
-
bringing this one back from the dead as I'm looking at azev a's too, did anyone get a definate solution?
-
sorry guys,a whats it worth thread,1990 valver.
chrishill replied to Riley's topic in General Car Chat
mine went for £1800 a week or so ago with 102k miles and some modifications, other than that it was very simular! if you look on autotrader theres alot of cheap valvers about, but stick to your guns, people will pay more for a quality one. I'd stick £2200 on it and see what sort of reaction you get - mine sold inside a week. In fact... Orpheus from the forum was kicking himself that he missed out on mine, might be worth dropping him a PM to see if hes interested.
