i bought some flexable induction tubing made by 'green' from halfords when i made a cold air feed for my astra, cost about a tenner IIRC and made a noticable difference, must've gained me ohhh at least 0.2BHP ;) throttle response was better though. Just make sure the end pointing out from behind the grille is angled slightly down otherwise you might end up getting water in it.

got mine done yesterday, wasnt sure at first, i thought they might be a bit 'too' bling, but everytime i look at them i like them more 8) - edit - how embarasing are those wheels from that angle!

my 1990 G plate's done 86k now ;)

thanks henny, i'll have a look at that, i take it its above the backbox silencer?

over the past few days my C's developed a really annoying rattly vibration coming from the rear of the car. At first i thoought one of my 6x9 speaker grills had come loose (they're thin metal) which should give you an idea of the sort of sound its making, quite a light metalic rattle, and as if something is 'just' making contact with something else. I've looked at the exhaust but cant see anything obvious, and it doesnt do it when i rev the engine while stationary, just under acceleration from low revs in most gears. any ideas?

didn't race him cos he was quite a way in front to start with, but i had a 106 gti get away from me quite rapidly the other day, tried to catch up but he was too far gone! i recon it'd be pretty closly matched to my 1.8 16v based on that.

at least you know it's well protected from the elements!

I thought about that steveo, wasnt sure if it'd work! anyway, i ordered some off areospeed so fingers crossed I dont get spotted going round any corners in the next few days! which do you recon would be worse? being pulled for not indicating or being pulled for having white bulbs? :?
-
ta henny, going to do a google search for 'slivertech bulbs' and see if i can find some online!

not sure this is the right forum for this...but i suppose it IS a mod of sorts I bought some FK's in the recent group buy, and I'd like to keep the top clusters looking nice and clear with some silver bulbs, only thing is halfarts dont seem to stock them and there arent that many other place round here that i can think of that would stock them. secondly, i used the OE light housings with the new lights, and was going to put some orange indicators in for the time being, but i cant seem to find any that'll fit. The OE bulbs have little 'pegs' that are directly oposite each other where as everything they had in halfords had them at slight angles to each other. Is there a certain fitment i need? need help with this cos at the moment i've got white indicators and no doubt with my luck i'll get pulled for it!

not really the point of this thread but.... spotted chrisvr6NOS in newcastle, heading towards newcastle town center at about 11.30 on wednesday night. Was in my mates massive white renault van and got all excited going "  I KNOW HIM OFF THE FORUM!!!! " .... i'd had a few pints  Also spotted a dark blue 16v with a reiger (i think) bumper, he followed me from prudhoe in northumberland to the turn off for the scotswood bridge in newcastle. we spent most of the way with a white scooby sandwiched between us, our own little convoy! :D whoever it was, sounded like he had more than just a 16v under the bonnet, hope mine sounds nearly that good!

My vote goes to Nero, i've used it for ages and it does the job perfectly well. TBH i've never trusted winXP's built in CD burning abilities.... Dazzyvr6 - go mp3 if you can, saves you loads of space in the glovebox  I've got a pioneer mp-somethingorother and its the mutts nuts! sound quality is SO much btter than my old sony unit and the range of options for setting up the sound is outstanding.

mmm, looking good! i got all motivated to do mine tonight, went outside with me torch prepared for a bit of cold and fiddling about...until i saw i'm going to have to match the wires up  anyone save me some trial and error time by telling me which ones are which? ta.
-
yup, mine came this morning too! :D out of interest, does anyone know what size the indicator bulbs are? the orange ones look toss with the clear lens so i'll have to get some silver ones...
-
cheers dan, i'll have a look thorough them ;) love the video of yours BTW, still one of my fav C's around

Show plates :( not bothered about little rules like my own text under the reg being illegal cos i think i'd get away with that, but german style plates might get me pulled a bit quicker ;) the look the dogs gonads though!
-
does anyone know any sites that do replacement reg plates in the 'new' style (eu logo, any text you want at the bottom type thing) I fancy freshening up my sad, tired, cracked old plates!
-
i just get a 'this domain has been registered blah blah blah....' page mate?
-
does anyone have a nice high quality recording of their engine revving? preferably something that sounds really really gutsy  ta!
-
haha  damn and i would have bought that too!

Done! Cheers Simon!

i've got a set of Pioneer TS-E1075 10cm speakers in my dash, but i've not replaced the center one (dont think it even works!) as for the depth of the ones either side, try taking your old ones out...theres loads of space! got to be enough room for even the biggest magnet on a 4" the Pioneers are cracking, and not bad value at £60, screwing them in was a pain because the windscreen gets in the way!

:( link doesnt work for me

judging by the quality of the standard C speakers, its no wonder they started making mobiles instead!
