  1. ;) yeah mate tried that myself, still like to see the real thing!
  2. its a maystar QX250 (i think thats the right model num anyway!)
  3. does anyone have a photo of this on a red C? just booked mine in for its respray and asked the guy to do it, cos i thought it'd look good, but i'd like to know what it looks like before i definatly get it done!
  4. i've had a little 2 channel amp in my c for a month or two now, and in that time i've blown 2 subs (one 2nd hand one new) a killed the tweeters in one of my 6x9's. I 'was' running it in tri mode when the first sub went, so for the second one i took the 6x9's off and just ran the sub, but it still blew. I thought the first sub was faulty, but when the second one went and i noticed the 6x9's werent as they should be I relised it's probably the amp. I've just bought a new 4 cannel amp, and a new sub, and i dont want them to blow again! the only other thing it could be is the wiring, but i'm pretty sure thats ok. (both subs had RMS values above the RMS of the amp and i by no means abused them) is there a way to test the amp/wiring to see whats going on? i really really dont want to blow the new stuff! i cant afford to keep distroying things!!
  5. my original amp was clipping on the right channel :( blew 2 subs and the tweeters in one of the 6x9's before i relised thats what it was....arse. New amp on the way (thanks DM!) and new sub off ebay, not so worried about the 6x9's they just add a bit of midrange, if ones a bit stuffed its not a major deal for now.
  6. its fixed! :D the downpipes were knocking on something underneith, so they squashed the pipe a bit for more clearance and it's loads better! still vibrates a bit over 6000rpm but then you'd expect that ;) The guy thought it was the CV joints to start with, but couldnt find anything wrong. They did find an oil leak though! argh!
  7. I impression I got from the blokes that did it was that they'd just started the car up, not actually driven it so they wouldnt have heard the noise. I'm planning on taking it back to them, i just dont want to go in and say "look what you've done! its broken!! :( " for them to go...actually its your gearbox, you idiot! I've got no idea about the engine mounts, it was fine in all gears and at all rev's before the exhaust so thats the only thing i can think of!
  8. Since having a custon SS exhaust fitted my C's not been behaving itself! its fine if i drive very sensibly, but if i put my foot down in first or second i get massive vibrations which i can feel in the pedels, steering wheel and gearstick, and it sounds awful! third is a bit ropey over 4500 too. When they fitted the exhaust they had to remove a big double spring thing from where the downpipes connect to the manifold, they replaced it with a different type of hinge type thing which they said should be fine. I'm really not sure if the vibrations are from them taking that out, or if my gearbox is broken or if the clutch isnt engaging properly, and i dont know how to find out! I want to know its not something else before i go back to the place i got the exhaust and complain, so i dont look stupid!
  9. its all an illusion! it's suffering from pink syndrome quite badly, and it's been t-cut that many times by previous owners that doing it again would most likely take it back to bare metal!
  10. respray's up next, got all the bits i need, so i'm just waiting for a week when i dont need the car so I can get it done!
  11. its a fully custom made one DM 8)
  12. they said the front end was a nightmare! some big double spring thingy wouldnt come off for ages, so the next one they do might cost a little more ;)
  13. finally, got me a nice shiny pipe! done by the lads at A.A.S in newburn, newcastle. Pleased with it so far, it sounds lovely! just a nice rumbly burble at tickover and when you're driving 'properly' but bloody loud 'BWAAAAARP!' when you boot it 8) I'd deffinatly recomend A.A.S to anyone in the north east area, they took my car in at 8am, and worked on it right through til 11.30pm on a friday night just to get it 'perfect' for me, cost me £330 all in and its well worth it. 14. looking nice matey! not sure if its just the pic, but in 2.jpg the back looks a bit high? what springs you got on it?
  15. ah right! i did something simular to the mk4 astra I had before my C, does make a difference to the sound, plus i found it rev'd a bit more freely too. I didnt realise you could do the same thing to a C, I'll have to have a go!
  16. read this mate... http://corrado.atx-hosting.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3701
  17. can someone put a pic up so i can see what you've done?
  18. I adore that car, so subtle but looks amazing!
  19. cheers mate, got myself sorted with a 225w RMS maystar jobbie, £45 brand new! ripped the funny filter out of the box and threw it in the bin  also took the amp out of trimode as the guy int he shop i bought the sub from said it might be another reason the sub blew, and i dont want to risk blowing another one! doesnt sound as good though :( saving for a 4 channel amp now.
  20. my sub blew today, which i thought was a bit strange seen as its RMS is way above what i was putting in to it, however when i took it out of the box i found this little blighter... correct my if i'm wrong, but isnt that a transformer? I got it second hand off ebay, and I have a feeling the guy's tried to boost the power from a headunit/amp by using that thing, hense it blowing on me! GRRRR! off to halfords for a new one then :(
  21. it is a coincidence! the C deffinatly looks like an evolution of the Scirocco to me...
  22. I always thought the corrado replaced the scirocco, but then i saw one the other day with a 'H' plate which is a year newer than my C! so whats the story?
  23. not yet mate, waiting for the new wing so the car can go in for a respray and i'm getting the grille spoiler put on then, although i have 'tried it for size' and it looks exactly like skids! (only black for now)
  24. After the local 'performance' shop broke my exhaust trying to fit the new one, i decided to go for a custom jobbie. I rang a few places and eventually spoke to Lee from WRC in newburn, newcastle who said he could sort me a full system for about 300 notes, so i went to see him today.... He had a look at the car, told me it deff needs a full system as most of the boxes are gone ( :? ) told me to hop in the car and we'd go and see the blokes who would manufacture the system for me... 5mins down the road and i pull into a big industrial unit with.... mk1 capri with 3.0 v6 v6 ford probe 500+BHP seira cossie pontiac trans-am with its v8 being fettled to 700+BHP! and about 10min after i got there a sweet looking mr2 turbo  all their work looked top notch and they said by next friday i would have the system on the car for just over £300 all in! Apparently they 'dont need to advertise, we get all our work from word of mouth' if it all goes well i'll put their details up on the forum to pass on the good word!
