  1. how many different dash/plastics colours were there? where there a few different shades of grey?
  2. hehe, good point, i'll have a look at that!
  3. sorted it out in my lunch-break, bits are being shaken off the car with the bass! woohoo! :D :D :D
  4. its a 2 channel bridgeable amp. but in the instructions it says you can run it in tri mode with a little diagram, bascially you set your 6x9's up on the amp as per normal, and then set the sub up bridged, set the amp to full range and pop a resistor on the + cable for the sub to block the high frequencys. All the speakers and the amp are 4ohm stable (dont know much about what that means, i'm guessing more speakers = higher resistance and so a higher ohm rating?)
  5. Added a sub to my system yesterday and put the 6x9's that had been running off the amp onto the standard wires for the rear speaker, and they sound terrible! might as well just have the original back speakers running from the sound quality they produce. It's possible to run my amp in Tri-mode, so i went and got some wires and a treble filter last night to give it a go. The guy in the shop said "it'll work, but to what extent I dont know" Now I understand that turning the amp up will effect both the sub and the 6x9's, but the sub is quite low powered (150w RMS) and the 6x9's are 75w RMS so i dont 'think' i'll have too many problems. Just wondering if anyone else has had experience with tri-mode and how it went?
  6. well, put the sub in last night and I'm well impressed, no more farty distortion with the volume up! Only thing is, i've put my 6x9's onto the original wires and they sound poo! I'm going to try the amp in tri mode at lunchtime to se if it helps....time for another post i think...
  7. got the same problem with mine, swapped the rear badge and broke one of the little blue raw-plug looking things :S stuck it on with sticky stuff i had in my toolbox because i didnt think you'd be able to get them from the dealer, I'll have to give them a bell now :)

    eyebrows?

I think they'd be illigal over here, they dont have anything to direct the light over to the left and prevent dazzling oncoming traffic, I suppose you could fiddle with the alignment of the lights themselves so they pointed more to the left...not sure.
  9. I bought a 10" pro-plus sub in a nice box off ebay for £30 plus the postage! not the best but suits my limited budget! :D I got some magnat classic 6x9's which are brilliant amped and at low volumes, but i listen to lots of rap (yo) and they dont like bass at high volumes so i'm using the amp to run the sub and running the 6x9's off the connections for the standard rear speakers. I put some little pioneer things on the dash, which really supprised me, sound quality is great from such little speakers. My C is pre-door speakers which is a bit of a poo, but its very loud as it is, and sounds pretty good...sub testing at lunchtime i think!! yeah, the boots carpeted, hadnt thought of velcro actually, good idea! bit on the boot floor and a bit on the back of the seats should be enough.... ta bally!
  10. Just bought a sub, thing is its 'very' heavy and i dont want it to slide about in the boot or, potentially, decapitate me buy flying through the back seats if i had an accident. Whats the best way of keeping it in place, while still making it fairly easy to take out if i need to? dont really want to take on a mojor 'build a mdf floor for the boot' type project if i can avoid it! cant wait to get it running...whompa whompa whompa!
  11. i wave! A couple of people i work with own MG's (a TF and a ZR) and always go on about flashing/waving at other MG's and how they get no responce excep on very rare occasions. I didnt like to tell them that 'old' MG drivers dont count the 'new' MG's as proper ones, so wont wave, and the 'new' MG owners probably dont know about the tradition and think they're a bit mad!
  12. 3 from me! got a wave off a guy in a white C coming up dean street off the quayside in newcastle, blue C parked near halfords/pc world in sunderland, plus today a guy in a blue H reg g60 going over the tyne bridge about 12noon.

mine's 'just' arrived looks top quality too!
  15. as far as i know, most bodyshops will be able to mix up a match for your paint fairly easily, i'd guesstimate between £30 and £50 for getting it sprayed, unless you're doing what i am and getting other work done at the same time! :D
  16. thats the bit you're going to love mate.... £13.75 for the one from GSF! you want part number 89534 from http://www.gsfcarparts.com I think with delivery it was a couple of quid over £20 Glad i went for it now, looks sweet as on Skid's 8)
  17. its not a perfect job but this should give you some idea (took me 5mins and I've had a beer....thats my excuse anyway!) just to add my 2p's worth, I'd leave the grille black, but do the bumper spoiler. Only thing with that is, if you scrape it on a speedbump it'll be messy :(
  18. very nice looking car there! eyebrow looks good :) its the 7/8 (or however many it is) slat grille i'm after a picture of though.
  19. anyone done this? i've just ordered an eyebrow from GSF car parts which the guy said 'tapers' in the middle and is lower over the lights, which sounds very much like the Kamei one to me. Seen plenty of photos of them on the later spec grilles, but none on earlyer ones. any photos please?
  20. front end looks like a nissan 100nx, which is never a good thing! looks nicely modded in that picture, cant see too much of the detail, but i cant help but think it'd look better with a 'normal' front.
  21. found these on ebay, the guys selling a fiat cinc as well, so i'm guessing they're off that....if they wont fit then i'll post the URL :D http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 2433060138
  22. Will a PCD of 98 fit my 1990 16v? i know C's are PCD 100 but surely its not far off?
  23. I have a sony headunit and i ended up putting both the red and yellow wires in to one, means I dont have to have the ignition on to listen to the radio! :D Not sure how well this would work if your headunit wasnt a 'face off' type, it may drain the battery! at least with the face off you know its deffinatly off....
  24. yeah, its a bad habbit i know :( There was a bit of a smell when i lifted the bonnet, but i'm pretty sure it wasnt burnt clutch smell thankfully! Oil and water temps didnt shoot up...
  25. on the way in to work this morning i was stuck in traffic holding the car on the bite of the clutch, and steam started coming up from under the bonnet! pulled over as soon as i could, popped the bonnet open and it looked like it was coming off the top of the radiator. As i was pannicing wondering what to do it gradually stopped, so i risked the rest of the drive in to work. Seemed to drive fine, and i didnt see any more steam, but i'm a bit concerned....
