  1. my valver has just given me the same present - though has gone one further and the overall counter has stopped too. i take it yours is the mechanical type cluster with the one LCD panel rather than 2? my plan is to take it out at the weekend and see if i can repair it. hoping its just a cog or something come loose. Anyone done this before? or even just taken the cluster out that could post up some hints and tips (especially if you have experience of the early style cluster as I suspect there is more to disconnect than on a late type?)
  2. cheers :) for the pinstripe I was going to use motor bike wheel tape, in the end though I trusted my steady hand and painted it on myself. Also if i'd have used tape I would not have been able to do the red on the very outside lip - would have been just inside that and I decide that wasn't what I wanted. Very thin brush using red enamel paint - then lacquered over the top. On real close inspection there are a few times I wobbled slightly but as you can see from pics from anything more than a few feet away it looks fine. I'm actually quite looking forward to winter to get these on the car
  3. the tinted FKs look lovely. still can't make my mind up about the reverse though - think I might just accept the hassle and do thin stripes... also found on ebay some guy selling pre-tinted all reds - look like quality finish and only £60 or so quid!
  4. cheers - i was the same, always thought sebrings were ugly and wondered why the picked such a dull wheel for Rallye and corrado. Love them now though - i think the classic design of them has helped them to age well. Hoping the red and black look works on the car, anything will be better than subjecting my summer wheels to a harsh british winter! was going to use orange LED bulbs for the indicators so don't think I will bother with the thin stripes. I am swaying more to clear reverse now...
  5. and the other project I have on the go is making some all red rear clusters. so i got a cheap second set from the bay - in good condition but i think they had been top tinted previously as the amber sections were covered in old lacquer. been following the guide on here and the one on the canadian corrado site after that lots and lots of sanding with 800 to make them nice and smooth look no markings! should be painted at some point this week. can't make up my mind about leaving the reverse clear or not...
  6. thought i'd update this thread with my two little summer projects decided refurb the old sebrings to use as winter wheels and have finished one of them! pretty chuffed with it - only 3 more to do  (would of only been 2 more but the lacquer just went funny on wheel number two wo will have to flat back and start again - ho hum) so first was the nitromors to get the old paint off then sanded with 200 then 400 wet n dry and given a good clean, then tyre masked off coat of primer after a few more coats of primer and a rub down with 400 grit paper (used dry) after 3 coats of gloss black they looked like this then I wet sanded with 1200 paper and put my red pinstripe on and the final result after 2 coats of lacquer not perfect but good enough for winter wheels - just hope I can get the others looking the same :thumbup
  7. looks great, love the colour and wheels - though i think the yank seatbelts might do my head. your all red rears looks great, did you do them yourself if so how did you do it / what guide did you follow?
  8. heat the area with a hair dryer, then turn a can of air upside down and spray on dent (this will just spray out propellant which is cold) - the expansion then rapid contraction should get dent out with a satisfying pop! doesn't work for all dents but smallish shallow dents are moderately successful or call a PDR techinician - will get it out in a matter of minutes...
  9. You're not a true dubber unless you've bought summat from him... that is actual fact right there
  10. i've bought stuff from him before - always very good. he has corrado ones listed but they are nigh on £50!! i assumed they were so much because they were for the early grille rather than the late type
  11. where did you get the badges from? and is the front one the same as a mk3 golf 16v badge?
  12. all corrado rear lights are the same - orange on top, red below if your's look different its because they have been tinted at some stage in their life...
  13. red is clearly the best colour
  14. There standard mate... Just with the addition of Red Tint Spray. they look spot on - did you use the guide on here and what make spray did you use? i'm half way through it, done all the prep just need to spray now. btw your car looks fekin awesome! what's your final offset on the front now? was lovin the tuck, but now I think you need more poke :D
  15. love it! i'm sure there's much more been done but the wheels and lights (front and back) look great - i reckon you'd struggle to make them work on any other colour, but on silver
  16. thanks for the comments guys. there was real divided opinion amongst people as to whether those alloys would look good or not when I deciding which to go for. My other option was dotz mugello, nice wheels, but so glad I went for these.
  17. all you need for car park dings is a decent PDR guy (paintless dent removal). have has this done loads of times and there is no way they will crack the paint - he's just after your dollar. never paid more than £40 for a pdr session - once a year i organise a 'group buy' where i work and the guy comes along and works his way around the car park
  18. i wish it was new, just a lot of elbow grease
  19. well the 5mm spacers were not enough so rears ended up going out 15mm, now all good. might put the 5mm ones on the front to push em out a bit as i have a real tuck and poke mix going on at the mo! at the mo I am refurbing the old sebrings ready for use as winter wheels - current plan is to do them gloss back with red lip. also picked up a complete set of OEM tail lights for £9 on the bay so am in the process of sanding them done ready for the all red tint treatment  currently well happy with it and think its gonna look even better with the red tails - getting lots of inspiration from the red rado threads on here and vortex 8) hope you all like my direction

    grille badge

hi all, i've recently swapped my original early type front grille for the later style. no of course the 16v badge does not clip on as the clips are not long enough. would I be right in thinking that a 16v badge from the front of a mk3 golf would fit the later style grille? cheers
  21. nice, pretty sure ours are the only 2 rado's in the world with these wheels on  which is strange as I think they suit it so well dish ftw
  22. i'm quite a conservative driver so in terms of handling, not really noticed any difference though yoko s-drives I specced them with do seem very sticky. (though if buying a again I would get something else as have noticed road noise is a lot louder with those tyres compared to the toyo px4 i had on the sebrings) not as comfy as the original wheels but hell, with low pro stretched tyre thats what I was expecting, not something that really bothers me as I only drive the car 10miles a day weight wise 8.2kg for a 16x8 wheel is certainly not heavy, though you could say not overly light either. they seemed to me to weigh less than the sebrings oh and after living with them for a bit I have decided they are bitch to keep clean  cos of the huge dish there a massive surface area which pics up grime wouldn't change them though :D (that said I do keep wondering whether the black centred ones would have been easier to maintain)
  23. had a few chufties since having the C (about 12 months now), but had some great ones since getting the new rims. couple of weeks back, was getting out of my car in a supermarket car park and a guy walked past and called over 'thats a nice car you got there mate, smart wheels' and then today, this put a big smile on my face. pulled up atsome lights and I hear someone shouting 'Sell me your Corrado' I looked over and it was aguy parked across the road inhis focus climbing out his window waving his arms and shouting over at me. I just smiled, the lights changed and off i went! even better was the fact that a few cars in front was a very nice looking black M3 convertible with some very faancy rims on that was completely ignored :D
