lol, good job we don't have the same colour C's or we'd have matching motors! i'm on the south coastin poole so not particularly close to you! thanks for the offer though.link to where you got yours wouldbe great though...
-
no not done anything else other than keeping them nice and clean and shiney with lots of wax :D I was tempted to put the 5mm universal spacers on the front but thought if its low and not rubbing why mess with it. currently trying decide what colour to paint my calipers as those wheels are showing up how manky they are! currently swaying towards gold
-
get them bought, they''l look sweet on a green rado :D just noticed on rimstyle they've gone up by £60 since I bought mine :?
-
i got some retro fit aeros for my C as the standard ones were poo, missed most of the screen. i didn't expect much but though for the sake of a tenner i'd try them. bit better, but once I gave the original arms a good bending they were transformed, i get a proper wipe of the screen, no judder no noise - a much cheaper option than the TT / Lupo setup

i don't think i strip down is gonna help tbh this is a different problem to the one of the runners getting clogged up. I had it on mine where the spoiler goes up and down in stages - no amount of cleaning (of what were very free running rams) helped. In the end I changed the whole mech and motor. If anything is worth cleaning its the motor itself though not sure its fixable?

right actually got chance to measure and she is sitting as follows: (measurements taken from centre point of arch to the floor) front: 56cm rear: 58cm so fairly respectable especially at the front and at the back really considering its running pretty wide tyres and lowish offset - and no rubbing HTH
-
they are wider tyres so you're not going to get quite as much stretch. not an issue of course but the extra bit of stretch with a 195/45 means less chance of clearance issues with your arches - little bit more space to play with, flip side of that is that the outside edge of your rim is less protected by tyre... haven't forgotten about numbers - just not had chance yet, hopefully post them up this eve....
-
not sure on numbers - basically did the front as far as I dared and the back a bit higher for a slight noce down look - which was handy in the end as when I had the standard sebrings on I could have gone lower but then would have had to start raise the back to fit the rotas. will go and do some measuring in a bit and give you some numbers.

i'm not sure of the answer to that either :) i got the FK 30mm System B kit from Venom (15mm per side) these are hubcentric and of the type that you first bolt to your hubs then you bolt the wheels to the spacers (the same way pcd adapters work). The bolts that you get with your new wheels will be too long so you need to chop about 5mm off each one. if you go with with those make sure you phone and ask venom for the current magazine price as its cheaper than their web price all a bit of a faff, but worth it as I agree they do look the business :) another moral of the story is don't believe rimstyle and their claim that their website will only list wheels that will 100% fit your car!!

very nice - looks in good shape. do i spy the bonus of no sunroof to go wrong? are you going to lower it? -
some pics: sorry for crap pics, getting dark and on a phone...
-
yes definitely get the spacers anyway, as even if you don't actually need them, they vastly improve the stance. and contrary to post earlier in this thread et20 def doesn't stick out too far - in fact it doesn't even quite sit flush with the arches. will try and post some pics in a sec...
-
just put a set of these on my rado! so you get the benefit of my intimate knowledge of them firstly they don't fit! haha, well not quite. I have a 1.8 valver on coilovers, sitting fairly low as you can see. The fronts go on no problem, not even any rubbing as far as I can tell. However if you are on coils and they are down quite low then they will not fit on the back. ET35 for an 8inch wheel is just too high. You will need to buy spacers for the rear. 5mm was my starting point (as it was quick and cheap), this was enough to clear the coils when stationary but they rubbed around corners :( so I moved up to 15mm FK hubcentrics - no probs and the now ET20 offset gives a stance more fitting to such a wide dished wheel anyway I love them I think the suit the C very well btw the pics show the rears non spaced looks even better with the bit of poke.
-
glad you like the rears were causing problems - the ET of these wheels is 35 so 8 inchesto loose inside the arches - not happening! inside edge was touching the coilovers - now spaced out 5mm.

been on here for a while but not yest posted pics. thought i would now I have got it looking how I wanted. Bought it totally standard, its a poverty spec 16v with no leccy windows and no sunroof. Not done a great deal, lowered on coilovers, fitted a late spec grille and changed all the badges to black. Also replaced the spoiler mech as it was doing the up and down in stages thing. latest addition are its new shoes - 16x8 Rota Cups. You gotta have dish on a C! hope you like
-
oh yeah def hubcentric. would love some mille miglia spyders as in your sig - but can't find them anywhere. I had some on mk4 golf and loved them
-
thats a chop of some rotas on my rado - i like (all opinions welcome) size of them is 8x16 ET35 and i'll be fitting 195/45/16 rubber - bit of a stretch. car is real low i'll raise it if necessary to fit but i dont want to roll arches. i'm told this will be fine? also do you reckon I could actually space the rears out a bit with spacers, if so 15mm / 20mm all advice welcome (also suggestions of other wheels for me to consider)

i have this issue - getting round it now by using a maplin solar trickle charger - on offer at the mo for 9.99!
-
in simple terms in means that you can combine channels to get more power. for instance 2 channel amp may provide 100w each to left and right speaker, but bridging these to channels together will give you 1 x 200w (e.g. to a subwoofer)

spooky, came on here to post up some findings about my spoiler and here is a thread about the very same subject. i have this issue, spoiler up and down in stages though not all the time - sometimes it was fine. not had the car that long and it was all ok initially. I did some cleaning but it made no difference, after a lot of fiddling I came to the same conclusion you have, i.e. an overload microswitch was kicking in to protect the motor - made sense as it also seemed to be more badly effected on hot days! anyway for the last few weeks spoiler has been behaving itself - great I thought, spoiler has fixed itself. anyway today i drive it and low and behold spoiler up and down in stages. realised that the only thing that was different was that I had turned off the blower in my car! turned it back on, just to speed 1, and spoiler starts working fine again! this ties in with it working fine for the last weeks too as I've had the fan on to try and cool the engine via the heater matrix as my rad fan was knackered! so give it a go, go for a drive and make sure you're blower is on! this must surely be coincidence - how the hell the two could be related beats me but considering the nature of the corrado electrical system it is not beyond the bounds of possibility!!
-
finally got this sorted, swapped out the old and very knackered fan and motor and put a new thermoswitch jobby in. I've got a feeling there's nothing actually wrong with the switch as the motor was very dead - very hard to turn, quite a nice grinding noise. anyone got any tips for testing the switch as if it's ok I'll put it back in as the one I replaced it with has lower temp settings, though I guess there's no real problem with that other than fan coming on a bit more often than it otherwise would?
-
they're great, which is why I've taken my still sealed one out and stored safely in my garage :)

hi guys, hope this is the right place to post this. Lidl have got car accessory type stuff on offer this week. the most interesting being a car first aid kit. bargain price of £3.99 so for those of you with no kit or like me have the original that went out of date over a decade ago could be worth a punt. Its a touch smaller than the VW one but fits and doesn't rattle around. oh also bought a nice big fire extinguisher for £6.99 seemed very cheap to me. gonna go back tomorrow and buy another FAK for the touran :)
-
hi guys, can someone please tell me if a radiator fan and motor from a mk2 GTI 8v will fit a 1.8 16v rado? part number 191 959 455 J cheers all.
-
ok cheers, think I've sourced one. VW wanted £25 for their part! I think I can def put my issues down to the fan and switch. fan is now no longer coming on at all! fan needs replacing anyway cos bearings are shot so new fan and switch should sort me out I hope. stat is def working cos the bottom rad hose gets hot when it should.
