  1. I've had this exact problem for the last year. I've swapped out the relevant sensor and that hasnt solved the issue in my case. I've also swapped the relay that the signal goes through and the clocks. Still the same. I'm thinking its something to do with a break in a wire somewhere.
  2. Bugger just missed this but if poll250 doesn't take the drivers fog light and its not damaged I'll take it please.
  3. I wonder how many years he's been doing that, he looks well practised. Brilliant.
  4. Was the beemer dead? I went there in November and it was very slippy in the morning. Dried out nicely in the afternoon but its very scary when wet. Oulton is an awesome track.

Well I've got an order to put in at the stealers anyway so I'll get some from there, thanks a lot for the info.

Hi there, I'm after the screws that hold the height adjust handle on the seat. It keeps coming off and its annoying! Also the three (I think) screws that hold the cowel together round the steering column. Last one being the two flaps that attach underneath the front bumper on either side. Cheers
  7. I thought it was excellent tonight, good car content and genuinely naturally funny. Lets hope it continues. SIARPC really depends on who it is, Slash was tweeting that he might be on it this series.
  8. Just got a very good quote from Peter James. Can I assume that because you have european breakdown cover the policy covers you to drive in europe? I know on a friends classic policy it doesnt.
  9. I'd be up for some if there was another run done.
  10. Not sure if I renewed my membership this year but I've got a sneaky feeling I didn't. I can't get on the ccgb to register my interest so will say so here. Looks a brill day out. Has anyone local got any recommendations for a good pub with b&b? Bit too early in the year for camping for me.
  11. No it isnt. For a start you dont want anything with silicone in it as that can cause damage to lambda probes apparently and some of the PTFE sprays can start to rot seals. I was given a can years ago to try by a bearing supplier as a stop gap to getting the correct stuff and it was far too thin for purpose, it would have just been sucked straight through the charger and been useless. The stuff CG40 sell is food grade machine lubricant not just a normal white grease for door hinges.
  12. We sell it on Club G40. Its hard to get hold of in single numbers, we have to buy it in bulk to get hold of it. Be wary of putting the wrong stuff in.
  13. Blue C on D90's parked in front of MX5 City in Conisbrough yesterday.
  14. Our VR is an auto and yes the box isnt the best but you do learn to drive around it somewhat. You do have to plan overtakes a bit more and it can be frustrating but I still enjoy a good blast out in the car. Its just takes a bit of a different driving style. Our car is now on 130k or thereabouts and we've had a solenoid replaced and the gearbox had some money spent on it before we bought it but its been fine for the 40k we've done in it. Just keep an eye on the fluid colour and dip it every once in a while and I'm sure that helps as has been mentioned.
  15. Are you tempted by it just because it has come up or do you really want it? Are there not any other itches you want to scratch. I keep looking at all sorts of cars out of VAG world as sometimes you get so engrossed in it and forget anything else exists.
  16. I bought one of these the other month on a vat free day at machine mart which made it very good value. Its a lot better than my halfords jack that I've had for years because of the problem already mentioned. If you continually use the halfords jacks they just seem to dome in the jacking points. The clarke one spreads the load more efficiently and has the rubber pad to protect the metal. Much easier to use and very much lighter too. No more driving onto lumps of wood either as it goes under my car no problem. For the money its great.
  17. I paid £57 for a Bosch S4 from euro which is working brilliantly.
  18. Just ordered, thankyou very much for sorting it again this year.
  19. I nicked the C yesterday and I have a beard but not today. I saw a blue possibly green one today too outside the co-op just up the road from the Kimberworth Park pub at about 5:20. Was dark so no more details than that.
  20. Yep I'll have one again please. Nice stocking filler for the misses.
  21. As above, our chains were as quiet as a church mouse. This is what the tensioner looked like. Best to get top cover off and have a look.
  22. I do avoid the cheapo stuff from GSF and Euro but how can the Bosch or Brembo etc stuff be any different to the stuff the dealers sell? The Valeo heater matrix I pulled out of the car I replaced which was the original one looked exactly the same as the Valeo one I bought from GSF. You arent telling me that is a different spec to the one I'd have bought for double the price from the dealer. I think there are things you avoid buying from GSF such as bearings but as long as it is a decent brand I dont see the problem.
