I think this thread is worth a read. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?51329-VR6-Oil-amp-Spark-plugs

We sell it on ClubG40. If you need it for the weekend then Pete who has it lives in Penistone if you are in Sheffield. PM PeteG40 on there to see if he has any and is free.

As title, gauge I don't mind posting but I'd like to be able to pick the wing up if possible so as close to Sheffield as possible please. I am also more than likely going to Action at Pod in September so could pick up from there. Cheers Sam

Yeah we have one and its really not that bad. The autobox isnt brilliant but does the job well enough. It sometimes only kicks down one gear when I'd prefer two but you get used to its shortcomings and as said for pootling as a daily its really rather nice. We dont seem to hit the highs of some of you guys with manual vr's on fuel usage but I've managed a couple of 33mpg journeys, we've averaged around 26mpg over the life of having the car. As said I'd have thought that the autos would probably have had an easier life and maybe be a bit cheaper. If you need an auto though as Kev has said there are loads of beemers etc with autos that probably have better boxes on them in all honesty. Might be worth trying one of those out, they are normally mega cheap too for what you get.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out. Remember we were definetely racing in Bahrain a couple of weeks ago and look what happened there. The current concorde agreement states it must be free to air. I'm hoping the teams sort this out but I've got a feeling a big wodge of sky money wafted about will be enough to sort them out, I hope I'm wrong. What a disgrace, I'm not paying for Sky, they can kiss my trumpet.

Whilst I agree with all that I cant help thinking that we should just get on and use them. Its going to be very interesting in the next few years with petrol prices etc just how much you can use a car like a VR. I say make hay when the sun shines and enjoy them whilst you can but at the same time trying to stop them running into the ground completely.

Charger can go with a bang if the little timing belt snaps. But as above, if he paid for it and took it away its his tough luck. I hate people who do this, when buying a car privately I look on it that it is my resonsibility to find any faults with the car before I buy it and if anything goes wrong afterwards its my tough luck.

Reasonable respray, refurb wheels, coilovers and a top end rebuild if there was any left.

Well having said all I did I did still have a cracking weekend but that was more down to the company I was with etc. Although Centurion is still a killer! Yeah nice to meet you Chris, if you need any G40 advice you know where we are.

Yep I couldnt believe how dead it was this year. Half the trade stands there normally is and the camping just seemed dead. I was looking around at 4pm on Friday thinking it would pick up but it was quite for the time but it just never did. Its just silly things like some people got let into the main gate with advanced booking and some didnt and got told to go to the gate the other side of the site, no clear exit marked etc, the organisation seemed a bit lacking. I've been to BVF for years now and always really enjoyed it and I did this year but I think they need to sort it out before the rot sets in completely. It would be a shame if this went off my show calendar. I did think it was out of order them charging you full price too Kip, that really is a bit of a p155 take like you said. Sorry I missed you to talk to, we did see you wave as you went past us on the way home! ;-)

Its the work he does on the wheel in the middle of it all is phenomenal. There would not have been much left of the car if he'd have lost that.

Whats the worst thing youve done to ur corrado
SamG40 replied to CorradoDriver's topic in General Car Chat
After recently having just had some spray work done including the rear bumper I went to a friends house to change the rear calipers. As I was getting the old calipers out of the boot I didnt notice them leaking fluid out onto the freshly painted bumper. That was annoying. I dropped the little white plastic spacer thing on the end of the striker pin on a passenger door handle I was trying to fit into the crevice in the door. Never found it and thus rendered the whole handle useless as it wont work without the spacer. Had no working outer handle for months on the passenger side, very embarassing. -
Can you get me the part number of the fan controller please and does it rattle if shook?! What condition is the drivers door seal in too please? Also interested in the heater controls, bonnet cable and late headlight switch (does it light up green) if you could do me a good price posted on the lot please? ;-)

Just another vote for this combination of oil and plugs. Our VR was running a bit poo and the missus has been moaning its felt a bit down on power. I changed the plugs, oil and air filter and oil today and just starting up afterwards the idle was noticeably better, it sounded much smoother and less top end clattery. It drives much better although I have only done a short run since the change over. It seems to rev much more smoothly though. I'll keep an eye on temps on a run and the consumption side of things as I go but very impressed thus far. Will defo recommend this combo to anyone. Cheers for the recommendation.

SamG40 replied to voo51's topic in Cars for Breaking
Can I have a posted price on the passenger door mirror if you are willing to sell please? Cheers -
I know someone who has an LPG G40 so I dont see why LPG on a G60 should be a problem.

Send the missus in, mine always manages to come back with some sort of discount! No idea how?!
-
If nothing else that just looks awful.

Damn it why did you have to post that! Been trying to talk myself out of going to Donnington at the weekend as there is truck racing on, first time this year in ten years. Got loads of DIY to do but watching that has made me thing bugger it! Guy's got some skill there and so has the girl come to that. ;-)

I loved the fact that even after all this time Martin Brundle was clearly genuinely excited to be watching and commentating on the race. It was a very good race, bit disappointed with Jenson but wow Mark Webber seriously impressed. The icing on the cake today would have been if he'd have had enough time to get past Vettel.
