I stood in the shop for over five minutes the other month waiting to be served with loads of people seeing I was stood there. If the battery I was after wasnt so cheap I'd have walked out. They did apologise about my wait a lot when I finally got seen to however.

Yesterday I saw an M reg VR at Parkgate in Rotherham. I think it was Sherry Pearl. Today a G reg going along Stocksbridge bypass heading towards Manchester. Gave you a wave as I turned off. Thought I saw you in the distance behind as I was coming up to the roundabout off the M1. Nice looking car.

Good show, the misses and I went last year and paid to have a charity ride in a rather nice Lancia Intergrale. -
I've had a set of these on my G from GSF and they've been fine. They are german made.

Wow there are some proper prices on there. That M5 is lovely.

I came home from work and the wife had picked up a copy for me on her way home from work. Impressed so far, some nice little touches compares to 3. I liked the race where there were two different classes on track, adds a bit of an extra dimension.

Just read a lot of people on this thread praising the Conti TS winters on this thread. I cant seem to find them anywhere, they arent even listed as out of stock. Is it too early for them yet? I've found some Hankook I*cept Evo W310 and some Toyo Snow Prox S953's for a decent price but cant find any reviews or opinions on whether they are any good anywhere.

Sound, if you could check them out and let me know a price that would be a great.

Temp gauge rises when cold - Gauge/cluster working fine

Did you ever sort this? Anyone else had this issue? I've got the exact same thing. Tried another set of clocks and they go straight up too and I've tried a different temp sender. I don't know where to start with the wiring. -
They don't call tornado red tornado pink for nothing you know. It can fade quite badly too if they left.

I had a crack at this yesterday and managed it without undoing anything at all apart from the oil cooler itself, I left both coolant pipes on too. Was quite suprised how much room there was. Only problem I had was that the seals themselves werent in too bad a condition so I am actually wondering if that was the issue at all. Oh well, for the money and time it cost it doesnt matter that much just still potentially leaves me with the leak.

Mine used to do something similar to that. Pulling away from junctions it would sometimes sort of rev similar to a clutch slipping on a manual car, then it would jolt and the drive would return. I took the car to a gearbox specialist (not even a very good one I found out afterwards) and they replaced a solenoid. Its been perfect ever since.

Hmmm might have to take you up on that! Yeah thats me although the white one hasnt seen the light of day for nearly two years. I'm running a grey one at the moment.

Well standard suspension is rattly on Sheffield roads! Sounds encouraging though, the missus wants it lowering a tad but I dont want to kill the ride completely.
-
Whats it ride like on the wietecs on our lovely Sheffield roads if you dont mind me asking?
-
Was that the one that crashed?

A friend has a Golf R and it does no where near 40mpg. He's had a V5 and a Mk5 GTi before it and this one has made him want a diesel next. Probably be much better in a Corrado though without all the weight of the Golf to lug about. The doors alone seem to weigh a ton when you open them!

Damn it. I thought someone would say that. I was hoping to avoid taking the front end off again, the aircon can be a right pain. Oh well I'll get the misses cleaning bits whilst its all off! Cheers guys.
-
Yeah I've just searched and found a few useful threads. Can you do it from underneath without taking the front off with aircon does anyone know? It gets in the way massively of that area.
-
Do you need to buy a new oil cooler to sort the oil cooler seals out or can you buy the seals seperatly. Is it worth sacking it off if it is this and getting a mocal instead?
-
GSF supply Valeo ones just like the dealers do? Its the same thing!
-
If it is the heater matrix then as mentioned its a proper PITA. Go to GSF for the matrix, same part as from VW as far as anyone can tell (same make) but its a lot lot cheaper. Make sure you wash all the underlay out from under the carpets too as ours were soaked. The misses washed them in the bath to get all the coolant out and then dried them on the radiators.
