Green m plate Rado on a361 just outside southmolton devon at 12.
-
Ah fair point

I was informed that a v reg was unable to be fitted to a pre v reg vehicle. Dvla stipulated i wasn't able to get a plate that made the car look newer than it was. I found V26 TOY and no matter what they wouldn't allow my fitment to my l reg car.

The rubber fuel lines are only about 2ft long and join to hard plastic fuel lines below the brake servo.

Easy With cold engine and ignition off, remove airbox if std, pair of pliers and move clips back a few inches on fuel hoses, try turning hose and if ok remove and replace hose. If hose is stubbarn: use a coolant hose hook to loosen pipe or cut pipe down its length and remove. refit new hose making sure the clips are on the new hose, bit of wd40 or similar on fuel rail - bit of foreplay will make it easier to slide hose fully in place. Refit, wipe clean and turn on ignition. check for leaks, start engine and visually check. Worth checking the other hose while your there though - any doubt change it asap.

They were still available when i got mine about 8 months back if it helps, be seated comfortably when you pay for them though - about £90 for the two from memory

I recon it will be about £50 posted. Thats 3 fuel tank straps / shot blasted / galvanised/ me descaling the excess off when their back / posted. Let me know if ur interested.
-
Dug out the tank straps and all is well, but the galvanisers are winding down for christmas. So wont be able to get them done till there back. Are you happy to wait and proceed after christmas or do you wish to buy elseware? Paul
-
I will grab them out the garage and double check their condition tomorrow, will speak to galvanisers on cost. From memory i think it cost me £15 / £20 when i did mine. Will give you heads up on prices then and postage will be negligable as can send through my work. The only fly in the ointment may be that galvanisers may be shut for christmas - meaning a few weeks wait.
-
Fair enough, i have a rusty set that i could get galvanised if you draw a blank on finding a set Paul
-
I dont know if you have looked into galvanising your existing ones, doesn't cost alot and will last forever.

Pull the engine to bits and find my ticking / chattering noise .. Change my cracked windscreen. Make up my mind to supercharge it or lower it and get some sexy rims.

Is this the norm as im led to believe or excessive? Paul The reason i ask is my vr has started to sound like this: Quietens up when warmed up but it has a ticking / chattering throughout rev range and on idle. - oil change 150 miles ago 5-30 millers Engine rebuilt 16k ago - head refurbed, new oversized pistons, new shells etc.. 2K ago New 263 cams, inf lifters, new mk4 tensioners. 500 miles ago visually checked cams, followers, upper chain tensioner before fitting schrick. Any help info before i pull the engine out to investigate would be greatly appreciated. Paul -
Anyone recon this is the norm or fooked?

Well today went pretty south quick and turned into a complete waste of time. Drove corrado into work to do some hrs on the van, Corrado was driving lovely - hasn't missed a beat and has been pulling like a train Parked up at work, went in for a yap for about 5 mins came out and started car to move it and its misfiring /cutting out and generally running like a bag of s**t. Left it and tried it again about 10 mins later and its the same - engine is hunting and trying to stall on tickover. Did battery disconnect with hope it would clear the pig. By picking up the revs it wont cutout and engine seemed smooth so Launched it up the link road to a mates and plugged it on vag com. Car drove fine apart from rounderbouts and junctions engine is hunting / stalling. Plugged it in and the only fault showing was : supply Voltage terminal 30 - signal too low. Cleared fault and it remained clear but still running pants. Did smoke test to intake system and found the old obd2 intake elbow has a small leak - typical as i bought a mandrel 42 draft elbow but it doesn't fit with the schrick, so il have to alter it and get it fitted. Car cut out on every gear change and junction on way home, Pulled up on driveway and its behaving and ticking over lovely.. Left it idling and even blipping throttle its miraculously fixed itself..... V much hate for the car today.... Im sure i have a hormonally inballanced car its almost like it jealous im working on another vehicle lol. One things for sure, when my vans on the road corrado's going in garage till i want to look at it again - probbably next year..

Yeah im liking the feel of it with the schrick, along with the 263 cams it seems to just want to fly. Im making up a ally reservoir so it wont go brittle with the heat is the plan, plus i can mount it where i like aswel. After alot of **** taking and details on how my work collegues plan to do my van over they have decided i should do the split screen look .. lol What are your thoughts? Obviously it will look a bit different being a pickup.

Finally got round to fitting it, still to fabricate and fit a reservoir but its back on the road. Seems to pull well, cant wait to get the butterfy working to see how it is on switchover. Got a new daily runabout yesterday, Honda acty pickup. few bits to look over before mot but should save a load on fuel and keep the rado good. Ideal for throwing crap in. No laughing please..;)
