If it was me I would change the whole lot. ECU and engine bay ancileries. I don't know if you need to change them but as they came fitted to the engine I would use them again. I thought your car was blue but I might be wrong. I remember watching the Fleabay auction with interest :) Still sounds like you have a good project there. And all credit to you for getting a Corrado roadworthy again.

A black plastic door pin?
-
Not my idea. Somebody on here posted it before. And it works a treat.
-
Stick a pen/biro tube over the pin before you put the doorcard back on. Makes it easier.

My thanks to pete_griff for the loom and to _leon_ for delivering it. Appreciate that.

Your '92 and '95 cars have different interiors but mechanically they are the same. 1992 was the cutover year from the early interiors to the newer style late interiors. It should be a straight swap of engines. Just drop the whole engine/gearbox from your '95 and stick it in the '92. Now watch as somebody will appear and tell you to use the ECU or something like that :) Oh and when you're done sell me what's left of the crash damaged '95. Your '92 has a different lock and key to the ignition as the door handles breaking is a common fault with the Corrado handles. In years gone by the only option was to buy a replacement handle from VW for ££££££'s or one from a scrapyard for ££'s. The owner of the '92 must have bought a handle from the scrapyard hence the differnt keys. It could be that the c/l not working is the fact that the cable from the handle is not plugged in? Remove the doorcard and have a look. You shouldn't need to remove the whole doors from the '95 as they are blue and your '92 is green. You will only need to remove the handles.

But on your RHD car Nick it will be behind the right rear door panel :)
-
aide is correct. It will run rich. The same thing happened to my 16V. Damn thing kept blowing the fuel pump fuse. I had to splice a new plug on the end to fix it. Ran much better after that. And don't forget to connect the earth wire too.
-
I think you go inside the boot, pull down the right hand side carpet from around the rear light area and rear wing and the little rod pump thing should be in there. Push it down and it will unlock your fuel flap.

Don't know if GWerks would keep a record of the rebuilds they do? Worth giving them a ring to find out?
-
Hi, Can you fit mine in too? I've got 5 with no tyres attached. I can drop very early Saturday morning as I'm only in worthing.

Black VR6(?) on a M plate with big alloys and a little orange ball on the end of his aerial at the TAB lights in Worthing at 20:15 this evening.

I will be removing some door looms today but for now here's a crap picture of late door looms. P5250348.JPG[/attachment:2ju6bj1q]

Do your doorcards still have the black plastic guides in them? Or is it just the bare doorcard?
-
There's a lovely looking white early valver that's parked up on Salvington Hill most Saturdays.
-
Did you fit a late interior to yours? Or is it the original early interior?
-
Looking good. So nice to see one being put back together again. Go to GWerks or JMR for the charger. Love the Golf ornament in the flower bed :) Sure beats a gnome.
-
It looks like the middle section from the cat back. The bars are the rear of the pipe. It's also for a late car as it's got the bar type hanger rather than the hooks you need for your early (pre 92) car.
-
Yes it will fit on the car but as Andy says your existing wing will be a late one and therefore the wheelarch will be wider than the one on the 90 G reg early wing.

A clean black late 16V(?) driving down Perrymount Road towards the railway station in Haywards Heath at 4:30pm this afternoon.

but apart from that, they're identical!    Indeed. VW made them and they are made of black plastic :)

The grille vents are different. The size of the whole where the heater controls are different. It's smaller on an early centre console. The ashtray is different. The lighter is different. The cubby hole at the bottom is a different size too. And I think the bit where you put your switches is different too.

Because the number of G60 owners that use these Forums is small compared to the number of G60 owners that don't. Jabba were once very good. Way before G-Werks or JMR were around. So lots of G60's out there will have had good rebuilds by Jabba. So when somebody buys a G60 they look through the service history and paperwork and find a receipt for a charger rebuild by Jabba. They don't know any better so they take it back to there.

Most early seats have no heating. I've only seen a few on here that are. As VR6 says, raise the seat to the highest position and feel the seat base from underneath. Go in from the rear. You will feel a plug end attached to the seat base if they are heated. Or get your head down low and have a look with a torch. I read that early and late heated seats use different plug ends under the seats but I don't know if that's true. They certainly use different switches in the dash. Expect to pay £100 for a loom with the two relays and the dash switch. And a loom from a MK3 Golf won't fit.

Mine are BBS RK II's with the tyres already removed.
