  1. I agree, Matt at um is good but virtually impossible to get hold of.
  2. No cover as such, just the shelf in front of the fuse box.
  3. I can vouch for that! Mine weren't even that noisey either! Seriously though, sort it quickly!
  4. How advanced is the stand alone stuff these days Kev? It's a subject I've not really looked deeply into. I'm sure you're a bit biased towards stand alone but is it worth all of the extra cost to the people who don't treat each journey as a voyage on a private test track? For me I love the turn key reliability in all weather's and times of day or year that comes with oem mapping.
  5. My money is on the crank sensor. Won't always give a code and when it fails it cuts ignition.
  6. I wonder how much power you could get out of an AUE lump on stand alone? The stock 204 feels fairly conservative.
  7. We went to Northern Italy for our honeymoon. Roads were terrible, signs were useless (unless you wanted to go to the other end of the road, when they were fine as the signs would only say what was at the other end, not en route!) and the locals were a few carbs short of a full pasta dish!
  8. Definitely, goes much much better than a 12v. I don't drive like my arse is on fire normally but it has so much torque that you can drive it like a diesel.
  9. When are you going to live in the garage then bill?
  10. The wheels themselves mate, yours being 1 of them. The centre caps all seem to be the later Speedline stuff, not the period right stuff. Not sure what they looked like originally?
  11. I sent my own cover to trimsport who said they would make a carbon item up. A year later and it seems like Corrados aren't on their priority list any more.
  12. Sounds like a duff relay to me.
  13. If it's dirty, it's being used Kev! I love a clean car as much as the next man, but I also love driving it and all that dirt is a sign of it being driven! Or maybe a sign of laziness and winter? I like the rare factor myself, if that keeps them worth something then that's a nice side effect. For me, the technical specs won me over, even if I need spacers for future big brakes. If needs be, 312 brakes mixed with DS3000 pads might be my interim solution.
  14. Funnily enough Kev, I have that photo in my picture library of cool Corrados! No, Unfortunately they don't quite fit, they're fractionally too small. They can fit but they're not right. I've put some vw centre caps on mine, not genuine but convincing enough for now. I've also got some speedline caps but not sure if I prefer them or the vw versions. Time will tell. I'm only aware of 4 sets of these in current existence.
  15. Sure was, part number is 0357 711 141 A and costs £37.73 plus VAT minus discount. You're completely right Mic, I wanted to do all of the suspension and mounts in 1 go to make sure everything was minty fresh from the start. Maybe I'll put new mounts on again when I finally decide on suspension!
  16. Another vote for auto silicone hoses. Good stuff!
  17. Today's job, new top mounts. These were the only rubber parts I never changed on the car as the old ones were only 30k or so old and I wanted to change them when I decided what new suspension I was going to fit. I'm no where nearer deciding and seeing as I'm enjoying driving it around on standard suspension so much, I thought I would change them now whilst I had some sunshine and time off! Have I noticed any improvement in handling? Only a small amount but the NVH coming into the cabin has reduced significantly! Amazing how much suspension rubber deteriorates in a relatively small mileage.
  18. Voltage regulators on alternators don't work forever. Much cheaper than a whole new potential alternator.
  19. I'll jump on the bandwagon too and ask for a set please!
  20. You'll enjoy it once it's done though Chris, keep plodding!
  21. If you send your ECU to United Motorsports, They will do the correct programming for you for £100 posted back to you. Where are you Chris? If you're localish I could maybe help out?
  22. Bad times! At least you found the fault so that's a bit of good news I guess.
  23. The old gearknob leather had worn through to plastic so I popped down to VW and picked up a new one along with some wheel nut covers. The new centre caps are on their way so I'll get those fitted at some point. Not so easy to find decent quality centre caps in this fitment but I think I have now so we will wait and see! I need aircon!
  24. My receipt from this morning says 0357 711 141 A - Knob at £37.73 plus vat before discount.
