Welcome to the forum. You're not far from me- I have a G60 in Shrewsbury. Let me know if you're nearby sometime and I'll happily show you what a well fettled G60 goes like! This car looks ok but make sure there is paperwork to go with the charger. I notice there is an air filter with no heatshield- not a great idea as it will suck in hot air. I can see the boost return has been deleted too so it would need lubricating manually. Not much else I can comment on really as the pics only show much! Personally I think adverts with only 3 lines of text are a bit daft. If someone really cares about and knows their car, there should be a ton of info on the ad. But that's just me! In hindsight I wish I'd been patient and bought a G60 on this forum (one that has a bit of thread history!), that was in great nick and spent £3k on it rather than £2k for one that will cost me £2k to get it sorted. Good luck!

Ye it's a MS260, I'm pretty good with wood on a big scale but not that good at fiddly stuff like that! I was thinking of some kind of mould/former but wasn't realy sure how to go about it. My mate does a lot of carving so I might borrow some bits off him and give it a go.

Ye I know it's been a bit of a mad year for me, I've hardly even posted on the forum. But I'm determined to get to a few shows or meets this summer so I'll keep an eye on the Events section and catch up soon. Need to see your new VR!
-
Ye I wasn't planning to have a shiny one, would probably spray it body colour. The exhaust is fine now as it has been rehung, I just thought this might cover up the damage without having to get a new bumper!
-
Does anyone know of a company that makes these for Corrados? I mean something similar to MG ZRs have like this: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/$(KGrHqUOKkME1vzQCNL!BNp,rn!+lg~~_35.JPG A bit of my bumper is melted from when the exhaust wasn't firm enough- I'd quite like to cover up the damage and protect it from anymore. I did think about making my own but reckon it will look a bit pikey...

Got a couple of short videos of how it sounds now with the Miltek, decat and boost return deleted :) Need to get some tunnel ones now! And a lap from track day at Abingdon last year Not much changed in the last year: De-blinged the rear lights with some nice smoked ones from ARZ, and Lamin Xed the front ones. Also got some new lightweight 17" wheels (which I am hoping to put some track tyres on and run 2 sets). I also had a DG remap not long after the RR day in 2009 as it was still pinking a bit under load. I am waiting for a shoulder operation so can't get it on the track at the moment which is killing me! I got a real taste for it after doing a few last year and the car is running really well now. Just hope the weather doesn't turn on me when I'm ready to go.

I reckon some decking would look great. Or maybe turf?
-
Thanks for info. Found out I've gotta have a shoulder operation in the next month so no point buying track tyres till I know when I'll be able to drive again :(
-
I haven't done a lot no. The last one I did, the instructor said that the car felt great and I was learning quickly- but it was being let down by the tyres. Thanks for your advice about the trackday forums- there is loads of info on there. Looks like R888s are too expensive and rare to be considered great value now. There is also talk of them being discontinued by Toyo. So I'll have a good look around on the forums and see what a decent alternative is.

Oh dear, I thought there was a bit of difference between rotation and camskill :( £600+ for a set is barmy I would probably still go with 'road legal' track tyres rather than R1Rs as I would only be using them for track driving and the odd cheeky weekend in summer. Are the Kumho and Federal as good as R888s? I guess I may have old info about R888s being the cheapest track tyres.
-
I've got the wheels now, just need some track tyres to get set for summer! Does anyone know where I can R888s cheaper than this? I'm guessing not as I've had a good look round on net http://www.rotationuk.com/gbu0-prodshow/toyo_proxes_r888_205_40_17_84_w.html They are out of stock at the moment but this is way less than camskill could do. I noticed camskill offer 'soft' SG R888s as well- I know the GG ones will be soft enough but considering I will have these on just to get to and from track days (and obviously on the track) should I consider the soft ones? Or will I kill them in a few laps? :)
-
I quite like them but only when the whole thing is clean and shiny :)

I was a 'rescue' rado- although some people prefered pedigree ones, I'm glad my owner wanted to give an abused C a good home. After a few years he's finally managed to get me up to full power and looking tidy. Everything was looking great until I overheard one of his friends saying he'd taken an R8 and a GTR out on a track day instead of me. Next thing he's bought a bike so he doesn't use me to get to work anymore. I just sit on the drive and get my paintwork scratched by that ****ing squirrel! I feel so hurt, I'm thinking of blowing my charger up just to get revenge... Haven't posted on here for aaaages but this thread made me smile! Trust me, Kidderminster is the last place you want to be in any year... Unless you like roundabouts, concrete and chavs?

Hi mate,
Trying to work out how to use the new forum on me phone so hope this gets through!
Just wondered if you've had the exhaust stuff in yet, woody woodpecker in my boot is driving me mad :)

OK so a set of 72.6 to 57.1 rings will mean they fit ok? Sorry for being a numpty but just wanna be sure they will fit if I bid on them!
-
Ahh cheers for info. So something like these? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/17-Team-Dynamics- ... 4cf46c30bb They are 4 stud so I think they will fit a G60 but the only bit I'm not sure about is this: 'THE WHEEL CENTRE BORE IS 72.6MM AND WILL FIT A VARIETY OF CARS (RENAULT, VAUXHALL, VW, CITROEN, PEUGEOT, NISSAN ETC) WHICH HAVE A PCD OF 4X100MM WITH THE CORRECT SIZE SPIGOT RINGS. I HAVE A SET OF SPIGOT RINGS TO REDUCE THE PCD FROM 72.6MM TO 60.1MM TO FIT A RENAULT MEGANE. YOU CAN HAVE THESE IF YOU WISH.' Any one know if this will fit a G?
-
I'm looking for some light 17" 4 stud wheels to stick some R888s on for track days this year. What would folks recommend? I've heard compomotives are good for this but there doesn't seem to be many on ebay. Any other brands? And what about suitable ET for track use? If anyone has any for sale then let me know!

Dark rado coming out of bridgnorth towards kidderminsteroon sun night.

Nice black n reg today in shrewsbury on oteley road

Halfords say they can't check it cos they didn't fit it... I pointed out that I won't buy a new stereo off them till I know if mine is broken, but that just seemed to confuse her... I'll get it looked at next time I'm at dg, they have more customer friendly policies than halfords!

I get annoyed with most of these but remind myself that an old git doing 40 on a 60 will just hold me up for a bit. The worst drivers are the ones that overtake the old git on a blind bend with a little 1.0 engine. At the end of the day it's the ones who risk killing me and my passengers that really wind me up. Especially tailgating! I can't believe how stupid some people are in fast moving congestion on a motorway. I CANT GO ANY FASTER WE ARE STUCK IN TRAFFIC GET OFF MY ARSE! Pileups wouldn't happen if people just used a bit of common sense and had some patience. :mad2:
