  1. Absolutely 100% not. I'm not going to knock him for doing something different, but certainly not my cup of tea!!
  2. hahaha oops, apologies to the owner of that car. I had that copied as I want to buy it... I meant to do this!: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-RSR-2-8-VR6-white-pearl-/221029030664?_trksid=p4340.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC.NPJS%26its%3DI%252BP%26itu%3DUCI%252BUA%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D160791911625%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D8556909302350079892#ht_1280wt_932
  3. I still don't know about this... On the one hand I know someone who is a petrochemical technician for Shell and he says unless you have a dragster type supercar, there's no need to buy premium- it won't make any difference. All the guys he works with drive M3s, RS6s etc. and don't use premium petrol. On the other hand, when I have put 95 ron in my G60, it pinks just for a half second when I give it beans- with premium it doesn't!!! So I'm still playing it safe and using premium, at risk of being a mug!

  5. I haven't posted on here for a while as I have been working abroad for a few months, but got back this week and just stumbled across this... I will be speaking to my insurance company tomorrow to see if they tell me to forget it... Might be pm ing for more info after that :)
  6. Dark blue C at BP petrol station in meole, Shrewsbury this morning. Not sure what type as it didn't have badges but had 17" black multi spoke wheels.
  7. I hope not- it had a fair bit of front end damage but it looked mostly cosmetic so I'm sure it can be repaired.
  8. Here's a few vids with me in: And a BMW who fell victim to the wet conditions! I ate my lunch whilst watching this being hauled onto a trailer, very sad :( The last 10 or so in this album are oulton park: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.532187702164.46273.274301570&type=1&l=e629775da8 I had some V70 tyres on for the first time but I don't think they ever really got going with all the water. But to my suprise I did manage to overtake quite a few cars during the day as I learned the track. Certainly a lot better than the airfield trackday I did but then again Oulton Park goes to over £200 in summer! So I might get an airfield one in over summer and go back to Oulton in November when it drops price again.
  9. Amazing! One hell of a track, couldn't believe all the blind summits! I'll get pics and vids up soon.
  10. It looks like a nice car but a few things as above ring alarm bells! ---------- Post added at 08:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:34 PM ---------- Oh ye I see now, he's already sold it- thought that was a seller leaving him feedback at first...
  11. Anyone know this car? Interesting that it says they've owned it for 6 years but recent feedback shows it was bought in December! oops! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Corrado-vr6-HGP-Turbo-350bhp-/160730016056?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item256c416938
  12. Not sure, I've never got it. I think it's usually more than the track day itself for reliable cover. I just cross my fingers and steer clear of anyone being silly.
  13. I will be taking the rado to this, Oulton Park is usually much more expensive. It's a full day and open pitlane so a right bargain. Anyone else interested? Would be good to have another C there. http://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/oulton_park.htm
  14. A great day. sorry I didn't stick around for long after my run but Isla was very good to come to with me so I didn't want to test her patience by making her stay all day! My power figures were down on the run two years ago from 229bhp to 212 at the flywheel. I was a bit dissapointed about this until I noticed that the power at the wheels was actually 7bhp more and the max torque roughly the same. Can't find my 2009 graphs at the moment but I guess it's just making the max torque lower down the rev range now with a different map.
  15. Can meet at hopwood park services (just past jnc 2 on M42) at 8:20?
  16. Sorry if this has been mentioned but couldn't see it on 1st page- what time do you want us there (or what time do the runners start?)
  17. Wrong way for me mate, I'll be going south down the M40
  18. I am too far out of the way for the north or south convoy. Anyone else going from the west? I will be leaving from Bewdley and going M42/M40 way.
  19. If you mean the SWG twin inlet box then my advice is steer clear. they are very weak and simply tightening up the hose clamps on top of the silicon hoses is enough to crack the plastic underneath. Then you get nasty stuff going into your charger. The best option for power is thought to be a standard box drilled out with a K+N panel filter, and even this hasn't been proved to give anything over the paper ones!
  20. Well it was a small one, but nice to meet people and put names to faces- thanks to Karl for the free food and coffee :)
  21. I've seen that one a few times, it hasn't moved for at least 2 years!
  22. Should really get the pipes, throttle body and engine checked for bits of metal too.
