Got in my car the other day and the stereo turned on but I'm not getting any sound through any of the speakers. When it turns on I get a squeak noise for a fraction of a second from the front right speaker but then nothing. Any ideas?

I'd just parked up in Shrewsbury town centre today and a red 16v came past. Body kit and big twin exhausts, even louder than mine!

I can highly recommend this map- I had a chip from a 'reputable' G60 tuning company that was suppose to match my pulley, cam etc. but was causing pinking under load and turned out to be runnning a stupid amount of advance at certain revs. The DG map has eliminated this and I have a lovely smooth drive still with plenty of torque all the way through the range :notworthy:

Agree with most of you, TT wipers and uprated loom make a world of difference. And for G60s you'de have to be mad not to chip and pulley it

Saw a dark VR flash past me just outside Shrewsbury today and exchanged a wave. Didn't see much else as we both had that 'got-ten-minutes-to get-back-before-the-match' type franticness about our driving!

If it's the lovely silver VR with 'VWC' it's probably the '5th Gear' one that used to live in Shrewsbury. The new owner took it along to the DG open day. Spotted a white 16v on the Bridgnorth to Kidderminster road. The middle aged couple inside looked at me blankly as I beeped and waved! :(

I had it on for a while and then put the airbox back on! It's been sat in the shed ever since. The plastic bits that come with the kit and go on the charger are crap and one had started to crack. I didn't want anything nasty going into the charger. I will repair it before I sell but I'd advise getting some metal ones as they need to be strong enough to have hose clamps tightened onto them. I think someone on the forum fabricates them but they are about £30 each :gag: Not sure on a price yet

I reckon these are a bit overpriced when you consider they give no power over a panel filter in a std airbox... But do they make a good noise? :gag: unlucky. I'd just not start it and ring G-werks or Jabbasport to be sure. I wouldn't have thought a bit would do much damage but maybe would if you kept doing it, but I don't know enough about them

Pulled up behind a lovely blue VR in Harlescott in Shrewsbury today. We compared notes with lots of childish revving and waving. I hoped he'd come for a blast round the ring road - I'd just been doing martial arts with a load of cage fighters and was still a bit wired :nuts: - but he turned off towards town and gave me a beep. I did get to smoke a Focus ST a few minutes later though which I guess is a lot more satisfying 8)

So it's a 1.8 8v (G60 engine) turboed?

i see what ya mean but i think it should be illegal to release a new car with less power that its previous, elise's are fun but always just had enough power never too much, any less and its just a glorified mx5 to me sadly :( I can kindof see it both ways- yes the company has to do what will make money, but it is sad to see a newer model take a step down from it's predecessor. I always thought that about the RX-7 and RX-8. Why would you go out and buy a new RX-8, when you could get a more powerful and quicker (and generally cooler) RX-7 for far less money?!
